Who doesn't like rolling around the wasteland pistol in hand? There's just something iconic about a revolver and one well placed shot. Wish there were more play styles to better utilize the pistol, but bloodied literally just has a stranglehold on the meta. Makes for a stale build diversity. That being said, this is the best way to be the mysterious stranger popping up out of nowhere to rain lead down on foes. Well put together and explained as always!

This build is very fun. The 2-shot Alien Blaster with the Cryo magazine used to be a legitimate Boss Killer. However, I am totally fine just using a Bloodied, Explosive Western revolver. I need to try the Gauss Pistol…

Currently on my first playthrough of 76, heavily wing it but been running a plasma rifle/ 44 pistol build. This was very helpful!

Been enjoying your build videos so much! I'm currently using your Stealth Commando. I'm currently working on daily ops for armor and trying to hit page 150 on SCORE board to buy Perk Coins as I joined about a month ago. I'm also saving to make the dreadnaught build too as I liked that one a lot, but waiting for Union Power Armor. While this specific one isn't my cup of tea, I've got a friend that has been rocking handguns & the gunslinger lifestyle so he'll def love this one! Would you happen to have a written shotgun build? My wife has been using Shotguns/Explosives and I've been looking for extra resources to help her push for more dmg, ideally without unyielding but wouldn't be opposed to using bloody. Anyways, thanks again for all the awesome content! :)

Epic video as always Tyr! It’s great seeing non meta builds be made viable! Rant on Bethesda Balancing of weapons incoming: Over the years I was always mad at how Bethesda had made Pistol builds weaker than rifle builds in 76. But then it hit one day playing: why the hell would a pistol be out damaging or on par with doing damage against a giant flying gargoyle over a plasma rifle? When you reframe your perspective and view them as sidearms and not primary weapons it starts to make more sense why Bethesda makes you source your damage perks from agility and not perception. Sourcing them from agility forces out certain damage perks and/or forces you to run with one star damage perks instead. So your damage perk potential is capped, making you spend your perk points elsewhere, like quality of life perks. Which makes sense from a realism standpoint as someone who mains pistols probably isn’t a frontline combatant and is hard focused into combat. There’s other perks that have nothing to do with combat in this game. Pistols are the filller build in 76. At least that’s how I’ve justified how Bethesda has made pistol builds weaker than rifle builds. It’s because pistols literally are weaker than rifles. They’re pistols. They just went about in a weird roundabout way. Now if they would just throw a bone to AP costs for energy rifles….

That doesn’t actually make sense tho mate, some of the most powerful weapons on the planet are pistols. Smith & Wesson revolvers of any type, desert eagle to name a few. Also taking into consideration that you can make plasma rifle into a plasma pistol. Simply changing the stock shouldn’t drop the damage as much as it does. Convincing yourself that the perks belong in agility doesn’t mean they actually belong in agility. It’s terrible design and cuts an already weak build off from min maxing with all useful perks as well as their static 60% weapon damage cards. Spin it however you want at the end of the day it’s just bad placement and should be changed. Respectfully i disagree.

I really wish they would buff gunslinger, I'm tired of the sneak commando meta

It’s hard to do when its perks are in the agility tree and a lot of damage for most builds come from there.

Is it still possible to double dip perks on a pipe revolvers turned into a rifle which used to let you take rifleman and gunslinger to double dip damage ? Kinda like the pepper shaker can with shotgunner and heavy gunner.

Next you should make a medic build!! Like a support your builds get so many views and there so fucking good I immediately made this build today haha now I got all 3 of the new ones make a medic?!

Don't forget the Gamma Gun, which is currently the highest DPS pistol in the game if you can keep up with the AP cost.

No radicool anymore anywhere? Another question im thinking to reroll secret service to unyielding , coz obviously it has many advantages , but im afraid to loose the tankiness then although i got like 4-5 def perks when ill have maxed my 3 legendaries. Also i rarely use vats so i didnt choose unyielding yet. Is it worth anyways?

No. 5 strength has no combat advantage for this build, only carry weight advantages (which I’m not struggling with since I have actual inventory management) Secret service is highly recommended, but go for whatever you want mate.

Speed Demon is bugged and carries the positive effects only of Empath. A bug in our favor for once! 😁

@strisselstudios3932 Speed Demon works as described, positive and negative. The positive effects of Empath are added to it. So no need to run the Empath mutation.

Maybe a shotgun or an energy weapon medic build!!

Try this commando build out it's not much different to yours but it has survivability call it the everyday bloody build Strength: travelling pharmacy 3, barbarian 1, bandoleer 2, blocker 3 Perception: commando all 3 at 3, ground pounder 1, tank killer 3, concentrated fire 1 Endurance: fireproof 3, radical 1, rejuvenated 2 Charisma: field surgeon 2, strange in numbers 1, travel agent1, tenderizer 3 Intelligence: nerd rage 3, either demo expert or gunsmith 5 Agility: action boy 3, covert operative 3, evasive 3, escape artist 1, gun fu 1, adrenaline 1, dodgy 3 Luck: tornentor 1, grim reapers sprint 3, better criticals 3, serendipity 3, starched genes 2, critical savy 3 I use 5 special legendary perk card's they aren't maxed so you could actually increase perks but follow through is maxed and the only other card I use. I have all the usual mutations but I also use grounded for extra energy resist and herbavour to boost company tea. Armour is just uny/trash/wwr usa forest and leather armour. Weapons bloody & vampire's fixer/handmade/quad rails. Unless I'm at like 10 health due to rads from stuff or in a daily op I barely ever die.

Use a military freezer or other camp object or use the backpack mod with the same effect, there’s no need to use good with salt mate.

Still hate after 5-6 yrs they still haven’t moved the pistols perks… but still appreciate you dude

Single Action Revolver is literally so weak its not even mentioned here. It's so sad. That gun has such a long (but satisfying) reload animation but it's damage just sucks. They have this concept of long reloads -> big damage, why not include this one? D: Anyway thanks for making this. Even though watching you play this on stream it seemed you really wanted to go back to something better.
