Just finished a survival run with no armour, no dog, no companions, no power armour. Died a few times. Got to level 150. completed all dlc's. I have just started a new survival run. Leather armour only, no dog or companions. Just finished level 50 no deaths so far. To make the game harder, I don't put any points into strength or intelligence. Therefore, I have to buy or find weapon and armour mods. No gun nut or armour workshop. Overseers guardian is my primary weapon and the .308 pipe rifle found in last house in concord upstairs. Buy the silencer from diner eventually modding to .50 cal when available from vendors. Leather armour is shadowed and pocketed. Leather chest piece is from diamond city vendor as it gives more time for chems to work. I have hot keyed psycho/jet and quantum cola. Don't be afraid to do drugs and buy addictol. Noodle cup is my go to meal for food and drink at same time. Helps with carry weight. Also mirelerk eggs only weight 0.1 when cooked with dirty water. Save whenever a bed is near is case game locks up, which it does occasionally. I play with PS4 no mods. Survival mode is brilliant for strategy. To get to Nigil in the glowing sea, I took rad x, glowing blood pack, cooked bloatfly, cooked mutant hound and stealth boys. No hazmat suit or power armour. Love the challenge

These are some excellent tips for surviving in survival mode. I am planning to at some point make some guides around survival mode with this being the first. Thanks so much for sharing. Also, Noodle Cups are my go to food also.

The disease bit was perfect! Didn't know curing remedies like sleeping twice as long! I've just been taking antibiotics ingame to cure these disease lol

Thanks so much for your feedback. I really had to play a significant amount to figure things out and I tried my best to do my homework on this one. So your feedback really helps. As a rule of thumb I visit a doctor, cure rads for 40 caps and then use cure health for 15 caps which both restores HP and removes diseases. 55 caps later and I am ready to go - as long as I am not tired, thirsty or hungry.

Negative on leaving companions they first return to the assigned settlement such as if you assign them to the castle when you dismiss them or replace them If nonsuch location is selected then they return to location where found

One minor correction, on PC you can use the following console command to re-enable survival mode: cgf "Game.IncrementStat" "Survival Denied" -1

Yeap that is right. I did want to mention it but decided against it the time simply because I wanted to ensure it was the same footing for both console and PC players but you are right.

Because of special book glitch my endurance was over 30 and never sleep in mouth and eat my character and there a old glitch still works my perception 50 because of drugged water

Yeah, manipulating the Specials does 100% help with Survival mode. It just makes it too easy with high special stats.

Yeah, I tried to survival mode one time, I died before I left sanctuary. Haven't messed with it since

Ha ha and that was just the starting mission. There are many more but honestly any mission can become hard when your low on ammo, aid etc. In survival mode you really need to pick your battles.

What about a Crippled torso lol assuming it can b crippled Also a crippled head gives a negative 1 to PER idk about arms and legs tho

Having a crippled torso reduced endurance and strangly apparently increases your chances of getting more hits. Crippled anything can be fatal actually in Survival mode as it reduces one or more of your specials.

You would think that should be a thing lol. It almost feels hidden and that's why the settings is the first thing I talk about.

this is pretty funny considering how many bethesda games ive played . survival mode is basically how long can you survive without borking your save in some way .cant savescum, thats what we called loot locking before you all called it something else . who would play like this ? and why ? sorry to be overly negative anout it .

I don't think your being negative at all. Essentially it's to challenge oneself. It's a little like playing a playstyle almost. This mode can be very brutal and as a result it does force you to ply slightly differently. As you can see in the video there are a number of other factors that one needs to think about now.

I'm trying to do permadeath on type of survival... lvl 25 is the highest I have made it so far.

Wow that sounds hard. It's a playstyle I have not done and it would probably crush me if I tried it and then got nuked about 100 hours of playthrough....

Hey Mo, I'm in need of your fallout knowledge and hope you can help me with a bug Ive encountered. I'm currently doing the nuka dlc, I cant clear the main quest that required the battle zone arena to be complete. I've killed everything in the main area and sub areas. I killed the bot in the arena, the doors won't shut, the announcer doesn't trigger and I have no idea what to do to progress. I've searched the net and the two solutions are a power armer glitch (irrelevant to me as I don't have to pam mission) and use the disable all robots from the main console in the main area. I've tried this and nothing happens. I'm at a loss on what to do and can't progress, I've literally done all other content other than the main mission. I hope this hasn't messed things up some how. Please help if possible 😁

I think I may have found the problem but with even less chance of a solution, when i arrived at the galaxy zone Tiana Alston was no where to be found. I've checked all 3 possible gate spawns and two out of three have dead bodies, the 3rd only having bloodstains where the bodies should have spawned. Due to this I have no star core quest and can't progress the main campaign. Is there any way to progress the quest somehow

Hi Andy, I'm sorry to hear you4 having issues. Sadly this is something that has not happened to me or have heard about before. Seems like a tricky situation to be in. At this point the one thing ni would suggest is to load up an old save file and see if that helps. Alternatively you could try talking to NPC who may trigger the quests or even seeing what happen if you take out NPCs. Chances are that your quest itself has bugged out.

Imagine if the game crashes and it corrupts the save.💀💀💀

Ha ha I can agree to that. It does make things more hard for the sake of making things harder. But at the same time it does make it challenging which is nice also.
