Yes, so many items like the 'healing syringe;' (Stimpack) and the big gun that shot the baby leg (Junk Jet) are from the game. It's kind of insane how much effort and money they put into the props; even things like the vault school desks could have been normal, but they made the effort to make ones that looked a bit weird like in the game. Also the ridiculously large gear bag the squires need to carry must be a joke on how most players make their companions carry stuff, since there's a limit before you start slowing down.

What's even crazier is that they somehow managed to create such a "video gamey" world that's still believable. I thought the tone of this world with its dark satirical humor and outlandish characters might be hard to bring to life, but nolan nailed it.

@@system0fadowner251 exactly, that’s basically what I told a good friend who knows I love the games; I went in a bit pessimistic thinking they could never balance the dark humor, violence, grittiness, and at times downright silly/goofy humor, but they pulled it off in my opinion. Not only that, but I loved the ending, which had both massive in-season and overall Lore implications.

As a life long Fallout fan from literally the first game ages ago (I'm 37) I can say without a doubt that heart and love was put into this show. The first episode straight up feels like a new Fallout game, it introduces the Vault, it shows their weird lifestyle, major event happens and now you're exploring the wastelands. I was hesitant to check it out but I dipped my toe into the first episode and it dragged me in. And I love that they are playing the exact songs from the games so the people who play immediately start to sing and vibe along when one of them comes on, just like you do when you're playing. FUCK I'm so happy to be a Fallout fan right now.

When they first announced the show I was very, very skeptical. Fallout has a very unique style, and I really didn't think it would work for TV. Boy was I wrong, they got EVERYTHING right, down to the tiniest of details. I went in thinking I was gonna hate it and told myself I was only watching for Walton Goggins, but they had me hooked before I knew it. Here's to season 2 being even better

To add a bit of background, this is set un an alternate timeline which diverged from ours after WWII. Instead of working on semiconductors, they're gone full on atom researches (making nuclear devices for almost everything) and advanced robotics (mostly service robots and power armors) The cold war (between USA and China) never ended and all climaxed on octrober 23rd 2077 with the "great war" (which wiped most of the world in few hours) Most died instanlty, some survived (but on a baren land) and few lucky ones ended up in vaults able to maintain a small population alive for decades, waiting the surface to be liveable again Vault 33 is part of a interconnected complex of 3 vaults (31, 32 and 33) with each having a critical role in their cynergy The brotherhood of steel is a clerical/military order whose duty is to "collect and protect" ancient devices with strategic purposes The Ghoul is... a ghoul. For some reasons, some people don't die from radiation and become undying creatures. They can keep human behaviors on certain conditions but most decay and become feral monsters who attack anybody

I do wish they had spread out the season. Like how they did with The Legend of Vox Machina. Give the audience a few days to talk about the show between episodes. With eight episodes, they could have dropped two at a time every week. Build the buzz! They leave episodes on cliffhangers, doesn't seem to be useful if the audience can just watch the next episode.

It didn't make a lot of sense to me. It doesn't matter when they filmed their reaction video, it only matters when you watch it. The video will be available for years to come. Viewing anyone's reaction videos will always let you revisit whatever they are reacting to, as long as you've already seen it. If they filmed their reaction video two years before you watched whatever they're reacting to, it won't matter. It'll still do everything you say you like about them when you watch it. Your comment just didn't make much sense for the things you said in it, honestly. Sorry.

I'm a little surprised about the first squire chosen "Dane". If the knights don't care much about the well being of their squires (being used as cannon fodder for example) why would they be considerate enough to call their non-binery character by their preferred pronouns? (Dane was referred to by "they/them") I don't like preferential treatment for one member of the cast over the others.

Lucy is one if my favorite main characters ever. I'm not the biggest fan of The Ghoul. Actor is great, but the character is just written and used 'too cool for school'. Oozes fakeness. Which is weird since his past self is a great rootable lead.

I liked the show but if 33 does a triennial trade with 32, someone should have been alarmed that none of the 32s faces were familiar. Maybe Norm noticed and it just wasn't spoken. Hank and Betty should have been security minded even when dealing with 32. Instead it was just, "howdy, come on in!" There should have been some sort of code phrase ID challenge in place. Or have some of the 32s defect to Moldaver and the raiders and those familiar 32s could get Hank and Betty to let their guard down.

  • @happyslapsgiving5421

They don't know the others personally. Not even the Vault leaders do. The people you mentioned were not from 32 and would not be expected to know everyone from 32. Even if they had met a whole group of people from 32 three years prior, they wouldn't even remember the faces of the people who showed up three years ago. And even if someone from 33 had developed some kind of bond with someone from 32 three years ago, for the short duration of the trade... they would just assume that that one person who came last time didn't come this time around. In fact, that's probably what happens regularly. It makes sense that new, different people would be given the opportunity to visit, and not the same group every time. Lastly, they do have trades every three years, but not necessarily personnel trades and not necessarily in one direction. So there might not be anyone from 32 in 33 who is alive, or they might be someone who has left 12 years ago and wouldn't recognize anyone if they went back today. PS: And that's assuming that the trades happen every three years with both other Vaults, which... frankly... doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe this time it was one "breeder" from 32 to 33 to marry Lucy... three years ago it was a lady from 31 to 33 to marry Bert... six years ago there was a trade between 31 and 32 of which the people from 33 could know nothing about... twelve years ago a person from 33 went to 32... fifteen years ago yet another, older lady from 31 came to 33... eighteen years ago yet another trade between 31 and 32 that the dwellers of 33 knew nothing about... and, say, twenty-one years ago someone from 32 came to 33 and they might be incapable of recognizing anyone, but they might blame it on the time passing... if they haven't passed themselves in these twenty-one years... 😅

I'd highly recommend giving it another chance. There are so many twists and turns throughout the episodes while still being able to tie all the storylines together at the end - I was genuinely impressed and didn't see some of the BIG revelations coming. Is it perfect? No, some of the characters felt a bit pointless and I did feel like some of the tangents were a bit too long, but that's just like the games - The side missions are just as important as the main one. Respect if you won't vibe, I can easily see it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I'd highly suggest sticking it out if you have a spare moment.
