Fallkniven F1pro , re-edit.

An old video which I decided to seriously edit to a shorter video, I can't believe how wooden my delivery is in this video!

    An excellent and unbiased review. I just bought one of these, after watching several reviews including a longer version of this one. I agree with all the points made here. IMO the key Pro: like the steel choice, size of blade ok for general stuff but might want longer blade if out in the woods more than one or two days (or make sure have hatchet). Con: the handle is too thin, and i don't have overly large hands. The sheath is, well, functional i suppose, but not loving it. To be honest for the same money probably would have bought something else. Say a bark river bravo in some good stain resistant steel, with micarta handles and nice sheath. Anyhow, excellent review again, appreciate your content

    Really like the F1X Elmax but the only thing worse than the slim handles (don't know many Swedish people with small hands), on Fallkniven's is the absolute crap sheaths especially for the price (even the leather ones.... you know what I mean). What this shows is that if you want a bushcraft knife then the only way to go is a Rob Evans, only question is MK tribute or bushtool or both....... (both obviously). Great to see the old camp. 👍👍

    Got my first Fällknivens recently; F1 in the new VG Wolf steel, F1X in Laminated CoS and the F1 Pro in Elmax. Beautifully made knives but I have to agree with you on the sheaths; very disappointing! I prefer the handle of the Pro to the F1X, feels like it’s going to give hot spots galore, too early to comment on any of the steels. As a knife maker, have you made or sold any scales for the F1X yet?

    @@roasted_cheese either works well, the handle on the Scout is a little short for prolonged use but that's usually carving spoons etc which they are both not really suitable for anyway, get a mora carving knife for that , they are cheap and work really well.

    For me they are ridiculously over priced for a manufactured knife, your paying for the brand, considering the price you charge for a hand made knife that will probably out preform most of these type of knives, and a lot more work and effort put in to making. Can't justify paying Falkniven money, Just my opinion.

    How do you figure hand made knife would out perform a machine made knife made to exact measurements? Also, it’s not like a hand made knife is made with some magical metal or some magical heat treatment like they try to have you believe. Any hand made knife I have bought is never as accurately made as a machine produced knife.

  • @TheDavewatts

    @TheDavewatts

    @@timb8970 No matter what you say, there well over priced in my opinion, when a knife is hand made you are paying for the man hours put into making it, I mentioned nothing about magical metal, nor did I say they weren't decent knives, just well over priced for me. Each to their own , if you don't mind paying for this type of knife I'm happy for you, I'm sure it will work great, but no better than a knife half its price I'm sure.
