My favourite steel and perfect for harsh Canadian winters. A lot of people say the blade looks bland and unappealing but to me it's the most aesthetically pleasing knife I've ever seen. The price tag is harsh, however the 30 year Fallkniven warranty and the ability to send it in to Fallkniven to regrind the blade means I'll have this for the rest of my life and be able to hand it down in generations. Maybe I'm trying to justify my purchase... lol.

If you don't know how to maintain (sharpen) a knife like this, if you have to send it back to Sweden, to get it sharp, then what's then I would choose another knife, and these company marketing tricks, like lifetime waranty, sent it back to us to sharpen int etc, are laughable to say the least. A knife is a knife and if you don't know how to keep it sharp, thrn buy cheap knives, that you can replace them without sharpening (They actually do this with Moras, in Sweden)

Amazing review thank you for sharing. I am looking to get a Fallkniven F1 Pro Elmax, I am wondering if you still get the storage case as well as the DC4 sharpening stone.

I have this knife and love it. A definite improvement on my vg10 earlier version. I did however have to send mine back as there was an issue with finger guard being very slightly but annoyingly loose. Probably an early one. The replacement knife Fallkniven sent, had the minute gaps filled with solder to rectify the movement. Sorted...but on closer inspection the spine of the new knife was anything but 90* square, (one side about 1 mil higher than the other) and the grinds were asymmetrical, like 2.5 mil out. I contacted them again, and was told to stop being so pedantic, and to "just go out and use the knife!" Point taken, I was being a fanny, but for well over £250 I was a bit p**sed off to be honest. I sorted the spine myself, and have learned to live with the asymmetry. I know they are hand ground, but it does still set my ocd right off!

scz67 .....actually that response from fallkniven would frustrate me. Yes, its a knife and should be used, but its also a very expensive knife that should reflect the cost in its quality and finish. Otherwise we may as well just use a mora garberg at $80 , or a bk16 for about the same $80, or even a cold steel master hunter in 3v steel for around $100. Point being that there are reasons we spend $200 plus on a knife....and final finish is one of those reasons.

That answer or reply 🤔 by Fallkniven is totally unacceptable!...For the price of there knives there should be NO quality control issues!...I would flat out tell them that I regret giving them by business and that this will be the last!

Excellent video my friend,im buying the Falkniven F1 basic model but I'd be interested in buying the Pro.What puts me off is I have very big hands triple X and I think the handle might be too small.Im a hunter and knife collector, have a big collection of Scandi knives eg.Helle Mora martini and a few Buck,Gerber knives. When hunting I carry a Mora companion knife in my game bag and a Buck light knife on my belt for field dressing Deer and other game.I have the rest of my knives in the gun room,i don't understand all of these super steels.A lot of the comments would put you off buying Falkniven knives.Just subbed, any advice would be much appreciated.Stay safe.

Falknivens are overpriced. You can get a TRC, which are the best of the best out there (at least 2 times the quality on materials on both knife blade, handle and sheath, and twice the utility, ergos etc ) at almost the same price as Falknivens... Mille Cuori > Falkniven S1 . South Pole > Falkniven F1....

TRC costs at least 30% more, on both those models you cited. No idea what are you on about. If you can spend 30% more, go for it, but then why stop there? Spend 50% and you get better than TRC, or 100% more and you get better than a TRC and a fallkniven combined, so on and so forth. Fallkniven is 10/20% overpriced, as TRC is, as any company with knives over 100€ is. You can’t find a well priced company on that range because they are not well priced to begin with. Maybe only Lionsteel is.
