If your able, showing more of the fish to the camera or the release would be much appreciated in your future videos. It just nice to see your catches up close to truly appreciate your monsters. Thank you!

I agree! Once the fish is in your hands and you can appreciate its design is my favorite part of fishing!
Looks more like in a lake than Holston river!
Stripers are my all time fav fish to catch.. I always try a use the most light setup possible to make it that much more fun n challenging.. Great vid!!
Good trip, thanks for sharing. That river is over 100 miles long, could you share location 😊. I also saw a video you did on moss lake, KM my home town. Thanks again G.

Nice, but can you talk more about your setup and how you are rigging it up to the down rigger?
@merceroutdoors
Жыл бұрын
+Icarus sisyphus On the down rigger we just put them out about 40ft, clip to the down rigger and drop the ball down to the desired depth! Super easy

Nice, I am going to head over to your channel and check it out! I have fishing a lot on Cherokee Lake and getting into the Crappie! Come on over and check out the action! It would be cool to all get together and do a video together!
The Savage Gear swim baits y'all used, were they the 7 or 10" and what color? I see they don't off a true gizzard shad color. Thanks and great videos!!

+@michaelgarrett3622 we were using the 10” primarily that day I believe. We do use 8” alot as well
I was wondering what lb test you’re running on the leadcore? And do you run any mono backing and how many colors out? Thanks! Loved the video!!

Hey we were using 27lb microtuff leadcore no backer since I am running 200yds on a 303d okuma reel. 20 colors plus a 50 ft leader 25lbs in this case is all they will hold. Thanks for watching!
Beautiful stretch of river. Is this above or below Cherokee?
How do you guys spool a reel with lead core line?
@merceroutdoors
Жыл бұрын
Just like you would any other line it’s basically a hollow braid line with a lead core so treat it like braid. I like the microtuff brand as it’s thinner and I can get 200yards or 20 colors on a 30size reel. Without backer. Then I run a 50’ 25lb leader connecting the two with a micro swivel. 50’ is not necessary but helping when you get hung up, usually u can position over your lure and run a retriever down your line without damaging the leadcore
Where abouts on the holston are you and where did you launch from?

We were above Cherokee so really where ever is closest to you on the middle to upper half of the lake works .fish are probably moving back down by now anyway, I’m guessing they will run back up river come spring though

Above John Seaver power plant?
That youngest one looks like he'd rather be playing video games!!! "Do I have to reel or can I pause it?"

Really nice rig. What’s the flooring in your boat?
@merceroutdoors
Жыл бұрын
+David Brugh it’s seadek . There are other similar Eva foam flooring brands but I think seadek was kinda the first. It was already in the boat when I got it and I love it
Somebody please take that net from that guy. He’s going to knock someone over.😅
