Was 'The Society for Soulless Girls' actually adept at exploring female anger to the point that it transferred that anger to your review?

Your comments about Dark & shallow made me think about editors and stuff. Basically, that a book being "bloated" seems to be a trend. Every now and then I come accross a booktuber saying something along those lines about a book. Maybe we should start calling that shit out? Why does an editor not see that and tell the authors: "you need to chop 100 pages off your book, it's repetitive and doesn't add anything to the whole thing". In a nicer, more professional way of course. Maybe the editor is the one pushing for more words in a book? I'm currently reading "bullet train" and I had, let's say, deja vu a couple of times. I would've preferred that a book called bullet train had more speed and acceleration, but oh well. Anyways, have a thumbs up against seasonal challenges.

Very true! Sometimes a book would benefit from less pages indeed, which was exactly the case for The Society for Soulless Girls & Dark and Shallow Lies… unfortunately 😅

I just bought society for soulless girls.... damn it.....
