@@riyadomran he wasn't a ose follower of the Prophet Muhammad(SAW) and basically abandoned his way of rule, unlike Abu Bakr before him who stayed or at least tried to maintain the style of governing, he also gave Muawiah ibn Abu Sufyan power by putting him as the governor of Damascus in Syria(his main job was literally trading alcohol, IN AN ISLAMIC CALIPHATE) which then would later allow Muawiah to appose the 4th Caliph Ali ibn Abi-Talib and force Ali's son Hassan ibn Ali who was also the first grandson of the Prophet Muhammad(SAW) to sign a peace treaty with him which Muawiah would then kill Hassan then put his son Yazid ibn Muawiah(easily one of the most hated people in Islam's history) to have the throne and not Hassan's successor and younger brother and also grandson of the Prophet(SAW) Hussein ibn Ali and we all know what happened after that and how it changed the course of Islam. You can't say Umar was responsible for destroying the Sassanids and pushing back the Byzantines and opening Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, and Lebanon and many more areas when he himself only gave the order, if it was up to Umar to lead the conquestd then the Muslims would have been pushed back to Medina and Mecca, he wasn't a skilled warrior or general and was never to rarely mentioned in the battles that took place during the time of the Prophet(SAW), the only huge mention was AFTER the battle of Tabuk after he and 11 "companions" were caught trying to assassinate the Prophet(SAW) by scaring his camel while it was on top of a rocky hill that would throw the Prophet Muhammad(SAW) off and tumbling down the painful rocky hill, killing him, and he EVEN failed at that. Plus his multiple accusations of disbelief and changing of the Sharia(Islamic jurisdiction which are placed in by God and only God can change them) such as removing the "Hayya Alla Khair Al-Ammal" "Come to (do) the good deeds" in the the Adhan and the changing of the praying style from hands down to crossing your hands during prayers, just like the pagans, and banning things like Muta/Temporary Marriage which was written in the Qur'an and in a Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad(SAW) that came from Fadhl ibn Al-Abbas and multiple other trustworthy accounts, and he would do these things publicly, he also brutally killed his fair share of "apostates" who weren't apostates but rebeled against his rule as they didn't believe he and Abu Bakr had the right to become Caliphs, also the killing of Sayyida Fatimah Al-Zahraa bint Muhammed(SAW) and the stealing of her inheritance and the miscarriage of her unborn child Muhsin and this is described in detail in both Sunni and Shi'a books and are trustworthy hadiths. Plus his last words were that of disbelievers according to the Qur'an as one of his last words were something along the lines of if he had all the gold in the world he would have given it away(to the needy) to save himself from hellfire(hmmm now why would he go to hell, only if he did something wrong and he knew about it) and this is the summary of the hadith written in Sahih Bukhari and in the Qur'an a verse says(in short not the actual verse or it's translation) that if a disbeliever would give away all of the gold of the earth he would never be able to flee hell. Not so good of a person now? If you still think he is that is your choice and I don't care tbh. May God bless you.

@@monkey7558 ahhh yes the holy companions, they are sooooooo holy that you can't question some of their faiths according to actiond before Islam, it is quite illogical to think that everybody who ever saw the Prophet(SAW) or met him is now a believer, when there was an ENTIRE CHAPTER in the Qur'an talking about these people who were hypocrites, and I did not insult once. Don't get me wrong some sahabahs stayed on the right path and didn't go astray such as Ammar ibn Yasser(ra), he and his parents both accepted Islam while the Muslims were in Meccah, and his parents were the first martyrs for Islam because they were executed by Quraish, he would have a famous sahih Hadith directly from the Prophet(SAW) saying that he would be killed by a side inviting people to hell while he is on the side inviting them to heaven, now Ammar(ra) was martyred by Muawiah, a side according to the Messenger of God(SAW) is inviting people to hell and he was a Shi'a of Ali(Shi'a means partisan or follower of a certain person or group) at the time fighting for the 4th Caliph Ali ibn Abi-Talib(as) which according to the Prophet Muhammad(SAW) is a side inviting people to heaven, and Muawiah is said to be a companion what irony, the side inviting to hell is lead by a "companion", also lots of Sahabahs were killed by the first 3 Caliphs and lots of Sahabah joined Aisha in her conquest against Imam Ali(as) when he was Caliph which is according to both the Sunni school of thought and Shi'a school of thought a great sin and the side that a Muslim shouldn't have joined. How about you read history and see how the companions fought in between each other right after the Prophet(SAW) died then maybe not every sahabi was actually good and lots were hypocrites and enemies of Islam. There is a difference between cursing and exposing the lies of people who calimed to be good but in reality they were the complete opposite.

After Omar received the keys of Jerusalem, the Patriarch Sophronius invited him to visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and when they were there it was time for the noon prayer, so he turned to the patriarch and told him where can I pray? He said: You can pray here. Omar refused and said: Muslims will come after me and say here, prayed Omar and build a mosque on it. Instead he prayed outside, on the steps east of the church. The Mosque of Omar was later built at that site.

If the Islamic caliphate and expansion were not done, it will have the same fate as Christianity. Teachings of Prophet Muhammad will be taken by Romans or Persians to their advantage and completely change the original message of the religion. This is what happened when Christianity fell in hands of Romans. So Islam established its own powerhouse to spread the message unaltered without giving a chance for Persians and Romans.

Fun fact: Upon Umar's arrival in Jerusalem, a pact known as the Umariyya Covenant was composed. It surrendered the city and gave guarantees of civil and religious liberty to Christians in exchange for jizya. It was signed by caliph Umar on behalf of the Muslims, and witnessed by Khalid, Amr, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf, and Muawiya. Depending on the sources, in either 637 or in 638, Jerusalem was officially surrendered to the caliph. For the first time, after almost 500 years of oppressive Roman rule, Jews were once again allowed to live inside Jerusalem. (taken from Wiki) Dear K&G, you could at least mention that Jews were let to come back to Jerusalem, even though the Byzantines kicked them out of the Holy City. Also, how can you call the "Covenant of Umar" apocryphal? There were reliable Muslim leaders who were witnesses, and the treaty was determined in front of them. So how are you calling it apocryphal? Our beloved Caliph Umar (R) allowed Jews to come into Jerusalem, what makes you think that Christians were not given the same right? There is a limit to how spiteful you people can be.

Ma sha Allah. For those who know Arabic language, Umar's words at 22:30 are so powerful in their original language. Also, the strength of the Arabic displayed on screen serves as proof for me that these were his actual words. Few modern Arabic speakers have the ability to speak like that.

The most incredible thing about the Arab advance is that they were the poorest, least equipped and least militarily trained people. In modern terms, this would be like the equivalent of eskimos taking down Canada and the US armies with one sweep. Only people who have studied these wars in depth actually realize the magnitude of the Arab victories and how outright impossible this would have been had it not been for the fact that their timing was impeccable. What’s even more amazing about all this is that the Prophet of Islam predicted all of this to his followers less than 10 years before these events while they were surrounded by their enemies in Madina and had no food, water or wealth. Just incredible….

One of Prophet Muhammeds prophecies is these conquests you're watching, and a sign that he is indeed a true prophet to all mankind. - During the battle of the trench (627 ad), when muslims were in medina city and were surrounded by almost 10 thousand troops, the muslims were about 3 thousand and were digging huge trenches that cannot be crossed so they would survive, during the digging there was an unbreakable rock that couldn't be hit, so they called the prophet who was physically strong; when he struck the rock; it broke and then he said : “you're going to conquer syria, you're going to conquer persia and yemen”! (Saheeh Al Nasa'i) Prophet Muhammad didn't say you'll win against these 10 thousands, he said youre going to win against rome and persia (the greatest empires.) a time when the companions started doubting and fearing the defeat of all this. ~ after prophet Muhammad passed away they conquered all of these places he mentioned. - A historian named barnarby rogerson says: these two were superpowers; were the likes of russia and U.S, the equivalent of this victory today is seeing the eskimos rise up and conquer russia and the u.s; thats how significant the companions victory over these superpowers were. So all praise be to Allah the one who said "He is the One Who has sent His Messenger with ˹true˺ guidance and the religion of truth, making it prevail over all others, even to the dismay of the polytheists." 9:33 Note: The quote i mentioned of prophet Muhammad is authentically narrated by Al Nasa'i with a chain of narration going back to prophet Muhammed) (science of hadith, the well known islamic science for falsifying historical accounts or declaring them as authentic) (which only exists in islam!)

"And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed - all of them entirely. Then, [O Muhammad], would you compel the people in order that they become believers?" Quran 10:99 "And upon Allah is the direction of the [right] way, and among the various paths are those deviating. And if He willed, He could have guided you all." Quran 16:9 "And if Allah had willed, He could have made you [of] one religion, but He causes to stray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And you will surely be questioned about what you used to do." Quran 16:93 "And We have revealed to you, [O Muúammad], the Book in truth, confirming that which preceded it of the Scripture and as a criterion over it. So judge between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their inclinations away from what has come to you of the truth. To each of you We prescribed a law and a method. Had Allah willed, He would have made you one nation [united in religion], but [He intended] to test you in what He has given you; so race to [all that is] good. To Allah is your return all together, and He will [then] inform you concerning that over which you used to differ." Quran 5:48 "If We willed, We could send down to them from the sky a sign for which their necks would remain humbled." Quran 26:4 Enough said. 🤫

The letter of caliph Omar to the people of Jerusalem: “This is what gave Umar, Commander of the Faithful, the people of Iliya(Jerusalem) of safety. That their churches are neither inhabited nor demolished, nor diminished from their space, nor from their cross or anything from their money, nor is they coerced into their religion, and none of them will be harmed, and none of the Jews will live with them. And the people of Iliya should give al-jizya as the people of al-Madaen give. And they have to get the Romans and thieves out of it. Whoever goes out of them is safe for himself and his money until they reach their security. And whoever stays among them is safe, and he owes similar tribute to the people of Iliya. Whoever loved the people of Iliya to walk with himself and his money with the Romans and clear their sale and crucifixion, for they are safe for themselves and for their sale and crucifixion until they reach their security. Whoever wants them, sits and owes him like the tribute that the people of Iliya (Jerusalem) owe It is willing, he walked with rum. And whoever wants to return to his family, nothing is taken from them until he reaps their harvest. And according to what is in this book, the covenant of God, the edict of His Messenger, the edema of the caliphs, the edema of the believers, if they give what they owe from the tribute. Books and attended by fifteen years Hijra. Khalid bin Al-Walid, Abdul Rahman bin Auf, Amr bin Al-Aas, and Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan witnessed this. While Umar, may God be pleased with him, dictated this covenant, I attended prayer, so Patriarch Sophronius called Omar to pray where he was in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, but Umar refused and said to him: I am afraid that if I prayed in it, the Muslims will overcome you and say here the Commander of the Faithful will pray.

Umar and the arabs didn't even know what spartans were (i know you didn't imply that), rather he was following the prophetic tradition of living simple, as he had learned from Prophet Muhammad, his close friend and companion! @@gerardb5220 (1)there are many historians who are weak narrator and they're basically thugs of their time they fabricated the phrase for their own appreciation ,now it's your job not to stuck with that kinda historians...... Because then you'll judge whole religion with the same perspective... about sayf....Since he was the sole transmitter of many of his historical narrations, especially pertaining to the conquest of Iraq, some historians have accused him of fabrication or exaggeration, most notably Julius Wellhausen.[2] His narrations are said to be influenced by the tribal traditions of Banu Tamim.[1] However, he also collected accounts that highlight other tribes.[1] Recent scholarship suggests that Sayf is more reliable than previously thought.[3][4] W. F. Tucker and Ella Landau-Tasseron note that although Sayf may have been an unscrupulous hadith collector, this should not detract from his general reliability as a transmitter of historical information (akhbārī).[4] Tucker adds that accusations of bias could equally be leveled at other akhbārīs contemporary to Sayf, including the Shi'a historian Abu Mikhnaf.[4] Fuat Sezgin, Albrecht Noth, and Martin Hinds have also challenged Wellhausen's views and placed Sayf on an equal footing with other traditionalists........ And thing is that the father of historians herodotus is also called bias and fabricated narrator by other, but it doesn't make him fake also it doesn't make him 100% pure.....

@@gerardb5220 Firstly some authentic Muslim historians... ,Muhammad ibne jarir al tabbari(838-923),rashid al din, There are numerous early references to Islam in non-Islamic sources. Many have been collected in historiographer Robert G. Hoyland's compilation Seeing Islam As Others Saw It. One of the first books to analyze these works was Hagarism authored by Michael Cook and Patricia Crone. Hagarism contends that looking at the early non-Islamic sources provides a much different picture of early Islamic history than the later Islamic sources do (some of the sources provide an account of early Islam which significantly contradicts the traditional Islamic accounts of two centuries later). The date of composition of some of the early non-Islamic sources is controversial. Jerusalem was a great loss. It was part of our Roman Empire for 700 years, the city where of our lord was crucified and home of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, the most important patriarchate, second only to Rome and maybe Costantinople, together with Alexandria and Antiocheia. It fell into enemy hands, a bunch of nomads from the desert with no background or civilization

According to David J Wasserstein is the Eugene Greener Jr Professor of Jewish Studies at Vanderbilt University, "islam saved the jewry", he published the full article of how and why, I advice to read it.

@@ayhemshaban9745 After the distruction of the Temple in Jerusalem perpetuated by Titus in 70 A.D and the revolts under Emperor Adrianus in 132 AD the Jewish population in Jerusalem was drastically decreased. Then during the sasanian invasion the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, built under Emperor Costantine I, was destroyed by a fire in May of 614 AD, when the sasanid empire, under Khosrau II, invaded Jerusalem and captured the True Cross. Fortunately Emperor Heraclius and the Roman armies kicked back the sassanids and in 630 AD rebuilt the church after recapturing the city from the invaders from the east. After the arab invasion Jerusalem came under Islamic rule. Umayyad Caliph Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan ordered the construction of an Islamic shrine, the dome of the rock, on the Temple Mount, a very sacred place for the small amount of Jewish population that inhabit the city at that time. Of course the rule of the very first caliphs treated our holy sites with respect, but on 18 October 1009, Fatimid caliph Al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah ordered the complete destruction of the church as part of a more general campaign against Christian places of worship in Palestine and Egypt( where you find coptic christian people). The damage was extensive, with few parts of the early church remaining, and the roof of the rock-cut tomb damaged and the original shrine was destroyed. Goodbye 👋 to respect between the three book religions. I must say I'm not surprised, we saw that coming, for example when they invaded Egypt in 642 AD the arabs had already destroyed the library of Alexandreia by the order of Caliph Omar."If those books are in agreement with the Quran, we have no need of them; and if these are opposed to the Quran, destroy them." A bunch of ignorant fanatic nomads from the desert with no respect for developed civilization

Not even twelver Shias recognize them as muslim (the largest Shiite sect). Also, the Arabs may have begun their conquest as desert nomads, but they very quickly became the height of civilization and learning in the medieval world.
