The Congregation of the Fathers of Mercy, which was founded in 1808, originally under the title of “The Missionaries of France (SPM)”. The community was founded for the purpose of re-evangelizing the people of France after the Catholic Faith had been subjected to years of attacks and persecution during the French Revolution. It is now exclusively an American community. The Generalate of the Congregation is located in Auburn, Kentucky. The primary apostolate of the Fathers of Mercy is to conduct parish missions and retreats throughout the United States and other countries when called upon. The Congregation also staffs rural parishes in the Archdiocese of Louisville, Kentucky.

God bless this priest. After several years of prayers and study I converted to the Catholic faith at 58 years of age. I am 63 now and there aren’t enough words to describe everything that being Catholic means to me. The sacraments, the rosary and all of the churches prayers, the chaplets, the Saints and their writings, litanies and novenas. We must pray for the holy souls in purgatory, the church militant, and the church eternal. I pray to Saint Joseph who is the patron Saint of the universal church. This may not make sense but I pray that all religious and laity see that the church needs the Church.🙏🏼

God bless this priest. Yes God bless the priest and we should be praying for him to continue in the truth of the scriptures. After several years of prayers and study I converted to the Catholic faith at 58 years of age. I am 63 now and there aren’t enough words to describe everything that being Catholic means to me. It really depends on what research you did to find the truth as there are many different books that sound correct but bend scripture to forward the beliefs of the author. The sacraments, The sacraments do not save you nor do they supplement the scriptures or salvation the rosary Mechanical praying not found in the scriptures , even the Hail Mary is only 1/2 in scripture the rest is false. and all of the churches prayers, the chaplets, Is there something preventing you from praying to thew only one who actually listens to you? the Saints and their writings, litanies and novenas 2 Timothy 3:15-17 .is your first priority and to hold up any writings in the light of scripture not blindly accept anythiong you read or hear. Acts 17:11 We must pray for the holy souls in purgatory Not only does purgatory not exist , there is no reason for purgatory to exist . 1 Peter 2:24 how many sins? I pray to Saint Joseph who is the patron Saint of the universal church. So in 73 books of Holy scripture no one prays to anyone but God and here you are claiming a dead saint, spirit alive in the heavenly realm, can help you ? You do not find that in scripture but you do find that in the teaching of the roman Catholic church . Why would you believe such nonsense that no one in the new testament church ever taught? This may not make sense but I pray that all religious and laity see that the church needs the Church.🙏🏼 The Church / all believers in Christ should read God's written word for their truth . Hebrews 12:2

So happy you are returning to the church, it's never too late. I'm a cradle Catholic and I love our church so much. Once I learned about the Early Church Fathers and the importance of the Real Presence in The Eucharist (John 6:53-56) I could never feel right in any other church. I highly suggest you check out The Bible In A Year podcast by Fr Mike Schmidt, it's such a great resource to go deeper into the Word daily. I agree with the commenter above to go to Mass to worship and find peace, and to block out the rest. The bible mentions countless times that satan would infiltrate the church so that many would become lost sheep, but as much as it tries the gates of hades can not prevail against the church that Christ himself made.

To top it off, I was a Catechism teacher too (do as I say, not as I do)!!! In the last year 1/2 or 2, not sure, I've been becoming a practicing Catholic. I am loving it! Praise God for Father Joseph Morgan! This priest gave one of the absolute BEST SERMONS I have ever heard! He is 100% correct. I have to admit that I felt the Holy Spirit convicting me as I was listening. Every single one of us MUST humble ourselves before the Lord and admit we are sinners and in desperate need of His Son's death and resurrection to save us, and let Him transform us into truly authentic Catholics who live our faith day after day. There is NO OTHER WAY to the Kingdom of God but through Jesus Christ. Jesus Himself said this in the Gospel of John 14:6, "I AM the way, the truth, the life. No man comes to the Father but by Me." Notice Jesus did NOT say, "I AM a way, a truth, a life ..." No. He said, "I AM THE way, THE truth, THE life ..." That is so very specific! You can't even try to argue about what He meant. It can't be any clearer than that!

@@LAFITZ10 Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I’m always very curious what people who scoff at us disillusioned Catholics do when you stumble across John 6:48-64 which clearly teaches that His flesh is true flesh, not some symbolic bread? In verse 56 Jesus indeed says unapologetically that he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me and I in him, concluding in verse 57, “so he who eats me will live because of me.” Continue in verse 61 Jesus says, “Do you take offense at this? Then what if you were to see the Son of Man ascending where he was before? It is the spirit that gives life , the flesh is of no avail;the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. But there are some of you that do not believe.” I’m also wondering if you finished listening to this homily to the end where Father Morgan says to start thy judgment with thyself first. I pray these words will bring blessing to you. God be with you.

@@lufhopespeacefully2037 The Catholic Church teaches authority and divine revelation from Sacred Tradition and Sacred Scriptures. “Protestants,” based on their tradition, study the Bible with these premises: - There is no binding authority but the Bible alone. - There is no official binding interpretation or interpreter. - The Bible is perspicuous (i.e., easy to understand) and can be interpreted and understood by anyone. - An individual can and should read the Bible and interpret it for himself. CATHOLICS, based on their Tradition, study the Bible with different premises: - The authority of the apostles and the Church preceded the Bible, and the Tradition of the Church is an equally infallible authority (2 Thess. 2:15; CCC 80-83). The Bible is part of the apostolic Tradition. - The authoritative interpretation of the Bible is the prerogative of the Catholic Church (1 Tim. 3:15; Matt. 18:17; CCC 85-88). - The Bible is not always easy to understand (2 Pet. 3:15-16) and needs to be understood within its historical and contextual framework and interpreted within the community to which it belongs. - Individuals can and should read the Bible and interpret it for themselves-but within the framework of the Church’s authoritative teaching and not based on their own private interpretation (2 Pet 1:20-21). These basic differences place the Catholic and Protestant worlds apart even though they are opening the pages of the same book and accepting it as an authoritative revelation from God. The Catholic position is biblical and has been espoused from the first days of the Church. The Protestant position is unbiblical and is of recent origin. The Catholic is in full continuity with historical Christianity; Protestants are in discontinuity. Catholics attending a non-denominational Bible study need to be aware of these differences and be ready not only to filter out false conclusions but also to guard themselves against the false underlying assumptions (e.g., that everything has to be found and proven explicitly in the Bible). By STEVE RAY a Protestant converted to Catholicism.

Excellent homily. Pride is terrible, and a lot of us fall into it fast, putting on airs of piety and devotion, meanwhile gossiping and attempting to judge the hearts of others, and even being outright harsh. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.

i can relate to this. i moved to a place where people at Church love to show off how Catholic and happy and pious they are, but seem to come very short in terms of humility, chastity and loving one's neighbor and helping the downtrodden. i think Catholic nominalism is on the rise as people become Catholic for the wrong reasons.
