Faith Hill is phenomenal, I actually met her and Tim Mcgraw in person. Was at fort Carson, CO. Tim was doing a show for the troops, I was a MP at the time and was providing security, we were backstage at the time with the K9's. Well they were getting off the bus and Tim and faiths kids made a beeline for the dogs, luckily we had the tame dogs on duty that night, I remember faith being worried and I said it was OK. Actually got a hug from her and a handshake for Tim. Then during the show her singing the National Anthem then Tim singing, it was an awesome concert, but they are awesome people too

Tim said in a recent interview that Faith is literally a one take singer..she walks into the studio, sings her song, or her part on one of their duets, and then she leaves..she is that great. Speak to a Girl is a great one..it is recent and she still sounds amazing and their love gives all of us hope that relationships can last happily.

Nice job guys and yeah back in the day they did everything they could to show Faith Hill sexuality thankfully she had a god-given talent that she honed to an extremely high level so that she could overcome that. So yeah very very deep song and I tend to believe that Dustin's interpretation is a little closer to to where she was going and I have a very strong feeling that it would have been out of just plain old ignorance rather than malice Keith. I like the way you both saw the song. I see it a little different. Maybe I'm just projecting but the way I read the song is: she's all in the relationship, but he's not. And he's weaponized his communication in a way to get what he wants but not to give her anything. She doesn't understand that mentality and until she knows he's not in she can't give up. This song is almost her pleading trying to find a way through to really reach him and make him understand this isn't how it's supposed to be.

No country pop etc didn't come around until early 2000. This song was late 1990 if I remember correctly. Country rap, I think first time I heard of that was from big and rich with cowboy Troy in mid 2000s

I would say that's true. There have been country artists deliberately making pop since the late 70's it just didn't have a label. Like Dolly Parton had a couple of albums that were pop and were just listed as country and a some of Crystal Gale's music was basically synth pop. Conway twitty also basically did r&b here and there. Though for faith hill she was significantly more country for the first album(s) then she had to have surgery on her throat that changed her voice and she leaned more to pop. Shania and Faith were the people that ushered in the country pop era

Good Job! This is my favorite Faith song. When I lived in Juneau, AK, I used to go every afternoon to this little pizza place and play this song on the jukebox, back to back for about 15 minutes while I drank my pitcher of beer and ate my pizza. It got so bad that one day--the last day I did this--my friend, David, joined me for the beer and pizza, and since he was a native of Juneau he knew the owner. When he went to get the pitcher refilled, she told him what I had been doing and asked him if I was suicidal. She thought I played the song so much because I had just been dumped. LoL. I notice you haven't tried John Denver or Olivia Newton-John yet, here is one where they are both together. kzread.info/dash/bejne/gJ-WyKypcbPcdpM.html

@@BourbonCountryReacts While I am Olivia Newton-John's greatest fan (since I first heard her in 1974 singing If You Love Me (Let Me Know) (that was also the first cassette I ever owned, and the only 'album' my mother ever bought for me), and even purchased her Sordid Lives (TV series soundtrack--some of her best Country Music is on these albums, songs like Jack Daniels Save My Soul Tonight, So Bad and Slow Burn). I even went out of my way to purchase--before U-tubed was invented so you could just listen to it for free--her foreign albums which featured songs not available to US audiences. Songs like Rosewater (one of her very Best), and No Regrets. As for John Denver, I don't hate him. I find his popular songs (I'm Sorry, Back Home Again, and even songs he wrote that were covered by others 'Leavin' on a Jet Plane ((Peter Paul and Mary)), or 'Goodbye Again' ((Covered by Olivia Newton-John on her Have You Never Been Mellow album)) and "Take Me Home Country Roads' ((Award Winning Cover released only in Japan by Olivia Newton-John, yep her again))) good to listen to if I'm in the mood. Speaking of Country Roads, that reminds me that only Stephen Foster (the man who wrote 2 songs that ere adopted as State Songs--Way Down Upon The Swanee River, by Florida, and My Old Kentucky Home, by Kentucky) has matched John Denver in that feat. John wrote both Country Roads (adopted by West Virginia) and Rocky Mountain High (adopted by Colorado. So, there is that.

There are a lot of her videos where they seem to objectify her, which is needless, because she is such a beautiful woman that don't need to overly play her sexuality and it is sort of an insult to her talent, which is off the charts. I mean, this is a woman you could put in a discount Wal-Mart jogging suit and bedroom slippers, and she will look like a goddess, but she is also an amazing singer and sometimes, it seems the people that produced some of her videos were more interested in sex appeal and thank you for pointing that out. It happens a lot, in the music industry, I think. "Break Another Little Piece Of My Heart" is one of her earlier songs and the video to it is pretty cool. As someone else said, "There You'll Be" is one I highly suggest. And "Cry" is amazing. I don't think you have reacted to Trisha Yearwood yet and wow, where to start; "Walk Away Joe" and I have to say the official video, because it features Don Henley but I say the official video mostly because I am curious to see if you will recognize the guy that plays the boyfriend in the video. She couple of duets with her husband, Garth Brooks, which are great. Solo wise, "I Would Have Loved You Anyway" is one of my favorites and the video is stunning. "The Song Remembers When" and "Georgia Rain" and "This Is Me You're Talking To" are sort of somber (for lack of a better word) relationship songs. As for ranking Martina, Faith and Carrie... 1)Martina Faith and Carrie would tie for second, in my humble opinion but vocally, Martina is hands down number one out of those three. And you are spot on about the difference in the way men and women communicate. I've also noticed women will sit so they are facing one another when they talk, more often than not, which isn't something men tend to do.

Maybe you could get to some Johnny Cash. His last hit song before he died was a remake of Nine Inch Nails song "Hurt". His wife June Carter who is in the video died 3 months after it's release and he died 4 months after her. He interpreted the lyrics as a man at the end of life instead of heroin addiction and downward spiral from the Nine Inch Nails version.
