Only 50,000 miles on a 1990 that means the timing belt has never been done and it's 27 years old for those rubber timing belts it's super smart to replace that while you can you know well as I do if that belt snaps that motor is toast and for a motor that only has 50,000 miles on it none of us want that to happen please please please do a time you go on this car the instant you get it back to Connecticut if not before you leave I hate to be so nit-picky but it's a ticking time-bomb as it sits just look at it how the t-top Plastics are delaminating from the t-top imagine how that timing belt looks underneath the timing cover it's probably got stress cracks from dehydrating over the past 27 years just looking out for you brother that car is immaculate just like you I love to see it stay that way

i agree for the most part, however belts in that era usually have metal in the belts from my experience where as new one tend not to i doubt it will snap but teeth coming off yeah deffo, ford for some reason used to say for most of their cars here in Europe 10 years or 100k (quietly changed to 5 years etc) id never want to wait that long i do mine 5 years or every 50/60k that's on clock or replace even on a beater as soon as i get um, last thing you want is being stuck nowhere because you didnt spend the £50 on a belt kit.

preprodigy typically Japanese cars are well maintained even when driven very little in 25+ years. You have to get your car inspected every two years, and an old ass belt isn't going to pass. I watch Pacific Coast Auto videos all the time, and 90% if the cars getting exported from japan have had their belts serviced. My Suzuki Cappuccino has around 50k kilometers, and had its belt changed in like 2007 by the previous owner before it was ever imported.

Having had mine come apart under load and shred the valve train it's a small bit of insurance that's way worth it in the end.

Beautiful 300zx! Theyre still a classic. Unfortunately theyre slow in a straight line in stock form compared to the vr4, supra and rx7, but they mod amazing! So hard to launch in stock form too. They definitely need mods to krrp up acceleration wise compared to the competitors, but theyre beastly when modded, and still gorgeous today.

Jimmy I am in the UK and have the same import only it is the soft top . I just want you to know I found the front fender mount indicator light in clear on eBay ( where you have the orange ) very easy to change it . Hope your still driving it .

The bumps on the headlights on the USDM version are for headlight aiming machines, they are reference points. I am guessing that the JDM version have little levels or vials built in to aim them.

Horns, Floor Mats and Wheel Center Caps are a thing in Japan. Like tow hooks seem to be a thing in the US. Also MOST JDM cars have power folding mirrors, except for very basic cars.

Jimmy, those headlights are different not only externally, but also internally. There are shields inside to define the cut-off line, so the oncomming traffic isn't blinded but you can still see clearly. Unfortunatelly, using these lamps in LHD traffic is not the best idea. And as someone mentioned, old lamps are usually not very powerful. The right solution of this problem isn't putting there HID lamps, but resurfacing the chrome layer on the parabolic mirror inside the lens, which is usually aged and not very shiny. For some reasons, JDM cars tend to have turn signal stock on the right side, but UK-spec cars have them on the left. No idea why.

Nice dude I have a black 2+2 I twin turbo swapped. Dont ls swap that one you will hurt the value. Thats a clean find there. TT swap would improve the value though as they actually made the twin turbo 2+2 in Japan!
