Mad respect for this company. They specialize on a single car not for the money, but because they genuinely love the 300zx and I think that speaks volume.

Shows the guy isn't money motivated. I got into cars for the sheer pleasure of driving them, fixing them and seeing how they make other people happy, I'm not well off, I don't even care if I'm honest, few of my customers have asked me to repair there cars and they said they won't have the money to pay me, I said hey, if you can afford the parts, I'll cover the Labour, free of charge and I've gained so many friends from doing that, I wouldn't change that for anything because I never done it for the money, I done it for the love of the cars, seeing how I can make 1 PERSON happy from fixing there car, that's payment enough for me and that, you can't put a price on.

So hard to find a clean 300zx these days. Such a badass car, classic jdm style. Scott seems like an awesome guy, a true enthusiast. In it for the passion, not for the money. There aren't too many of these people around anymore. Rest in piece Thomas. The dream lives on through the car.

@@TrVlogs82 because I comment a lot on new videos in the car area here on KZread. Why? Because I enjoy being a part of the community. As you see my comments are never hateful, harmful, usually just a quick joke but usually a fact or statement regarding the video. People are crude man, I won't understand. I make car content, you don't have to like it but if you don't like it, don't watch the video. Simple as that. Appreciate you checking out my stuff BTW bro. Hope you like it!

Great guys at Zshack ! I know them personally and it's where i had the privilege to build the bottom end of my personal VG30DETT from my 300ZX (Z32) with the guidance of Scott Taylor ! Shoutout to Rick and Mauricio as well from Zshack ! Always doing the right thing and helping the Z32 community. We are lucky to have them here in Houston, Tx. 🙌

Byron Ramos I just took a trip up to Houston from NC and visited the Z shack EVERYONE up there was extremely nice and friendly Scott, Rick and Mauricio talked with us for hours and Mauricio even gave me a quick ride in his NA-TT. Awesome cars and awesome passion. Really connected with Mauricio, because we both have 94’ slick tops. Definitely will be back.
I’m not crying you’re crying!! 😭😭😭
Scott and the guys at Zshack are an amazing crew. I have been in the 300ZX game for over 10 years, and I cannot stress how far they have pushed the capabilities of the car. Scott is truly a humble guy that has such an over joyous love of the car, that when he moved to Houston to retire because of his heart complications, he decided to open a shop and help the community down in that area because of the lack of knowledge. At first, they were helping out their local friends and thought nothing seriously of it. They were enjoying working on some cars and keeping themselves busy, but Scott didn't realize the reputation he had built previously with you tube videos of his car making 800+hp! This was unheard of at the time. Quickly, their business grew and Scott had to come fully out of retirement and go full speed ahead with helping out people from all across the nation, and the world. He would spend countless hours on line answering peoples questions, helping diagnose mechanical or electrical issues and giving his knowledge to others on Ethanol capabilities for our car. It was truly a breathe of fresh air that the community needed. From pioneering non intercooled, ethanol, high compression twin turbo builds, to buying a dyno and really pushing the envelope of making 700+ hp cars roll out of the shop on a regular basis. I met Scott and the guys at Zshack about 6-7 years ago online in the Z community and I couldn't have met a nicer bunch of people. It has become routine for me now to visit them with my Z all the way from Chicago on a yearly basis. The Zshack crew tunes my car and is currently building a built engine with new turbos for my 1991 300ZX and I am ecstatic to have my build from them.... All in all, if you're ever looking to upgrade, modify, or just talk Zs to some down to earth people that really know their shit.... Zshack is the place for you.
I’ve only left my Z32 at one shop. I trust Scott, Rick, and Mauricio with everything on my car. Love these guys.

Yeah they hooked me up a few weeks ago. Definitely going back.
It's not about the car, it's about how that car connects you to the people you know and care about, the friends you made, and the memories of them it brings to you.
Mad respect just living life fixing specific car not for living but for the passion and dream a rare dude indeed.
I first saw this video about two months ago. How it is I had not heard about Z Shack before then is a mystery given I live in Houston, just 15 miles away, and a Z lover. But once I saw this video I just had to go meet a man that one, would do such a kind and generous thing, and two, a man so dedicated to this car as to make it the only car he works on. My Z is a 95 that I've owned since 96. As it happened I had finally gotten it back from a two and a half year full restoration shortly after seeing this video. So I drove it over knowing he would appreciate it and to meet Scott. This was a little more than a month ago. A more genuine, soft spoken, and Z knowledgeable person you will never meet. He spent well over an hour just talking with me, some about this video, but mostly about about the Z32. And most of that was about how much bad and untrue information there is out there about this car. He spent so much time with me that I started to feel guilty. After all, it's not like I was shopping for an engine build, or anything that was going to make him any money. I was just there for my own selfish curiosity. My car was running great, I didn't need anything. Well that didn't last. A couple of weeks ago all of a sudden it developed the lifter ticking sound. But there was something about it that made me think there was more to it than that. It was louder and, for lack of a better word, sharper then it should have been, as I could hear it sitting in the car, coming from the diver side head. Because I was heading to a car show I almost convinced myself it was just a sticking lifter, but something told me not to go, and I didn't. The next day I carefully drove it my shop and the guy that assembled my engine agreed, something about this ticking was different. When we pulled the valve cover he spotted the problem. An exhaust valve had dropped down too were the top of the valve stem was sitting just below being flush with the retainer. They should sit just above being flush. Thank god I had not gone to the car show, as that valve probably would have dropped all the way given what car guys do coming and going to car shows. Out comes the engine, off with the heads. The machine shop that was suppose to do just a refresh on my heads must have lost my original valve and replaced it with one that did fit but had a slightly larger cut out/ grove were the keepers go. The bad-Open the money pit throw in cash. The good-I'm converting over to solid lifters, putting in JWT 500 cams and Scott is building my heads. Yeah, it sucks this happened. But Im glad they will be done the way they should be done, and I'm glad I'm now helping to support Z Shack and Scott.
😀The fact that you do stories like these is why I'm a KZreadr as well. God bless Gears and Gasoline in 2019 and Z Shack as well🙏🙏🙏🙏

This episode just gave me goose bumps for a solid 7 minutes straight
I'm 16 and worked the whole summer for my first car and this video helped me realize I'm so blessed to have my 1993 300xz
The beginning if this video was basically reading my mind. I was like...this seems like a terrible business idea ..but good for them. You know it's genuine.
That was a beautiful story, very touching 😢
The z fever is a real thing. I had an s130 and that car made me love driving. I miss it, and I will own another one soon. Rest in peace though. Hopefully he's up there somewhere driving around some beautiful canyon roads in any car he wants.
this masterpiece make me cry.. this is.. mad respect for Zshack.. just wow
not many things bring me to tears but this has
Wow this shows the power of the car community everyone pulled together to make a mans dream a reality to a person they may have never met mad respect for these guys 👏👏👏
Watching you drive the Z from the shop in the video brought back all the feeling I got every time I drove my Z. I to NH from PA to pick up my 94 TT Z and I had never driven stick before. It was a trial by fire experience, but I was quick to learn and fall in love. Like many Zs mine is parked waiting. Waiting for either the 2JZ to be installed or for me to decide to rebuild the VG30. Money is tight and family comes first, but the dream to slice those back roads will never die. The love I have for my Zcar is unexplainable. I pray for the time, money, and knowledge to make this car roar again.
I know this an old video but it literally brought me to tears. I recently lost my brother and he was also a Z enthusiast. I bought a 1990 300ZX because his first car was also a 300ZX. Awesome video!
This gave me the biggest goose bumps. I’m building for the exact same reason and exactly the same way my best friend passed away.
this story moves me.. and wow a great job on the 300zx. Fellow Z enthusiast and owner right here :)
the way you guys portray the stories, the people, the cars. how can you not fall in love with the car culture? just brings tears to my eyes, i'm so emotional watching this video. still waiting to own my first car that i buy with my own money and turn it into another extension of my soul.
Car has now been brought back home to the family after it made 707whp. I was happy to be able to line up such a a amazing project for a great cause. Family is absolutely thrilled to have a part of Thomas back home. A future post by Scott and I’ll be happy to post a link to and from the younger brother of Thomas.
My mate just rebuilt his Z32 (NA), his dream car. He bought it as a non-starter, swapped out the engine, reupholstered the interior (by himself), got it rego'd, and did all this in a manner of a couple months. His build is nowhere near finished, and the paint needs work, but he's stoked to have his dream car in his garage, and I love driving with him in my 86.
Dang this one hit hard what a amazing community
You guys are amazing and I'm very humbled I'm watching this video, so please don't stop the Z business is Z32 owners appreciate very much. I know it's difficult business, but there are still many people who still love the Z including me. I will bring mine to Houston so y'all can work on it soon because I live in S.A.. RESPECT 100%!!! 😄
Just lost a friend who passed away in his sleep also. This hit a little close to home.
What a great story 👏👏👏
Great story, i watched at least 15 videos tonight.... and ended with this one. Went to bed with a wet pillow, but happy inside. And looking into my backyard at the z31s i have never completed, maybe its time for me to open a gen 1 300zx shop.... If i hit the mega millions tonight that is.
Wow is all I could say watching this video. The whole story the sad part, the build, the brother is going to drive it "home" and I kept thinking to myself, that his brother wont be alone on that trip...His brother that passed will be riding shotgun right beside him. God Bless the family and to all of those people that put in the wrench time, donated parts, and money to do this. Videos like this? Give me faith back in humanity.
Great work guys. Respect to ZShack for putting this all together. Glad to have you in Houston.
This is absolutely touching. Respect for the company as well.

Really sad story yall… but I’m glad someone built it for his family and now they can forever remember him with that car … that’s so awesome

The camera work is freaking next level.

Great story. This is my all time favorite and dream platform to some day build a 300z. Good luck on finishing this, can't wait to see it!
I got goosebumps. This is true, utter, pure passion and kindness. Beautiful
Terrific Vid! As a videographer, this was a very well done video. Thumbs up! As a Z32 owner, I have a deep appreciation for these vehicles and the pleasure/pain aspects involved. It's fantastic to see these vehicles still being worked on, upgraded, restored, and still on the road. I love mine when I can drive it despite all the little things that need to be addressed. Agreed...not the best business plan, but doing what you love is priceless. Thank you gents. I wish I was closer to you.
This is my all-time favorite car. I’ve owned 2 in the past and I’m currently looking for my third one.
This is why I love the car community.
Amazing video guys! It's always nice to see people come together for something like this.
Absolutely amazing story, and you captured it so well. Production quality was through the roof. Great job!
Yikes. I do this for a living but specializing on a single platform not a single brand gives me nightmares about how to keep the lights on and even keeping a single employee feeding his family. Mad props, you can certainly learn and refine the process of building this 3.0s It's an art
Man, this was seriously powerful.
I've been watching your videos for about a year now.. and this one hit home to say the least. Having a friend who just lost his father unexpectedly this week, this is simply an amazing story. Amazing job guys, this is the kind of thing people need to hear more about with the car community.
