Nelly Furtardo isn't a failure in my eyes as she has stated that after the mega success of Loose, the burnout just came crashing down on her like a ton of bricks; given she was in mother mode by day and superstar by night. Prior to the release of her debut, she put a clause in her contract to release a Spanish album independently outside of her label as she cared passionately for artists owning their master recordings. Her later albums obviously didn't get commercial target in the US market, but she wasn't too bothered by that as she had international appeal in other nations. Furtardo's always been a private person, rarely updates her social media and prefers to be at home with her family as opposed to being hyper exposed and trapped in the commercial machine. Which in the world now dominated by TikTok and influencers is rather refreshing.

Nelly Furtado hardly ever has been commercially-driven as a musician. She’s always recorded whatever type of album she felt in the mood to record: and she just happened to twice luck out that her albums coincided with the trend of popular tastes

It's a shame Nelly didn't get a bigger comeback, althought one of her latest singles "Eat your man" has gained considerable streams on Spotify :)

Errr, I wouldn’t necessarily call “The Ride” a ‘failed comeback’. More so her going back to doing a hobby she loves most while also being at peace with herself. She never thought about chart numbers and public acclaim when making this album. I consider TSI to be more of a failed comeback, since her label WAS promoting it, but didn’t promote it properly (which sucks because I liked Big Hoops a little). Keep going up flopped because Timbaland and Justin Timberlake are kinda in hot water. But knowing Eat Your Man is doing pretty well, and knowing she’s making an album this year, I hope she makes a proper comeback, and I especially hope it’s a big one. I deep down want a renaissance to happen for her or something. She’s just criminally underrated in my eyes.

Nelly never search for stardom but explore and explode her artistry. There you have a big difference among others. 🙏🏻

That was not a failed album by Gwen. It did decent. Her failed comeback was (sadly) the No Doubt comeback with “Push and Shove”, which was a really good album that made no impact.

@@aclstudios yeah, the “cowboys and Indians” themed video did not help. Because they pulled the video for “Looking Hot” (a great track) and didn’t record a new one, it hurt the promo. It was not necessarily mocking natives so much as being insensitive to them though. At least they pulled it very quickly and didn’t attempt to make excuses for it.

Justin Timberlake is currently selling out arenas on a worldwide tour. Wouldn't call it a failure

I would’ve never in 100 years to have expected Nelly Furtado of all artists to have an album be considered boring though 😳 I only heard Big Hoops, Parking Lot, and TSI, and all those songs are upbeat, so I wonder what I was missing 🤔. People either really love the record, or just don’t like it that much or at all.

She hosted the 2024 Juno awards. She'll be fine.

Nelly Furtado isnt failure! She just need more media exposure for her new album also Gwen Stefani need more interviews and TV guest shows I dont think she flooped... recently she have a concert with her group NO DOUBT and the concert was very successful. Lastly Fergie also need more music and TV questings for sure she will get there again on Billboard charts. As for Justin Timberlake. In addition to Justin Timberlake's reputation facing challenges, I also think he might take too long between album releases while also disappearing from the spotlight, while other newer acts take over. His original fanbase is aging and I'm not sure how much he appeals to younger generations.

Is “making a mistake” a hard concept to grasp in your little head….. you see…. Sometimes people grab the wrong file in a folder for a plethora of reasons…. This mistake can also be observed in old technologies like a Slide Show Presentation…..

Problem is they waited way to long to come.back to music amd also stayed completely out of limelight. There is a reason current artist never go more than a few years without new albums and continue to stay relevent through appearencnces.

Honestly Fergie's Double Dutchess and Gwen's This Is What The Truth Feels Like, aren't really failed comebacks. They did pretty well when you consider what other pop stars that were big when The Dutchess and Love Angel Music Baby...and how much success they were having in 2016 and 2017. Fergie was still having songs in the top 40...compare it to Cobie Callet,Natasha Bedingfield or Kelis. Rihanna's current break in albums is shorter than the time Fergie and Gwen took to make thier "failed combacks" And if you count No Doubt, then Gwen having songs peak in the 50s on the Hot 100 chart 25 years in her career...she was doing amazing on the charts compared to her peers...like EnVouge,Paula Abdul and Right Said Fred.

Justin has a failed comeback? He is currently on a sell out world tour, which none of the other artists you mentioned in this video have done or are doing. That's what I call success.
