Factorio, but as a Tower Defense Game
Ойындар
This is the first in what I hope to be a very interesting genre of games, where you automate your production, expansion and killing in a tower-defense style of game! I get vibes of things like Satisfactory and Factorio, but in a completely different genre!

I like the idea behind treating mobs as resources to convert, but as it is now it's just that, resources to convert, a factory game with one kind of process that looks like attacking. It's not a tower defense game until you have a tower to defend. This kind of game would benefit from having a regular wave-based progression, I think, amping up the mob pressure to keep you on your toes and keep you defending. I kind of want to see how bad of an idea it is to have to feed ammunition to the towers with belts. The mobs are your resources, and the most effective ways to kill them use resources that they generate, yet you need more and more to hold against more and more mobs, and it becomes a run-based game to see how long you can last? Interesting indeed.
This looks very interesting, the video style was very amassing well done!!!
I think this game should have waves first, and then you can buy spawners to feed your automation line. And whenever you hit some threshold of spawners, the waves get way more intense. Like, if you need to buy 3 spiders spawners, you can definitely handle a wave with 2.5 times the regular amount of spiders in a wave, right? And then you can use these period bursts of resources to grow the base. Every island should have a structure to defend and an entry point for the waves, limiting the player in what they can do with the space so they have to be careful.
Mindustry:
I'd watch some gameplay of that ^^ sounds fun
This video is how I sound talking about Don't Starve: Hamlet.

Interesting, but for now I think Mindustry beats this easily, albeit a different concept.

Agreed, though there's definitely an angle you could go with this more-TD style of game! Making maps and scaling it to mega-industry could be very interesting 🤔
