    Surprised you didn't mention in the propaganda section that one line from the battletome that goes "every Mortek Guard is a walking mass grave", because that's one of the most metal descriptions ever.

    He does not reward the just though. He wants everyone and everything to be tortured like the nighthaunt or ground into powder to form ossiarchs. He barely tolerates independent undead like the Soulblights, and spends a lot of time tormenting them as well. He takes his role as God of the Dead seriously in that he wants complete omnicide and silence but for screaming and pleading mercy from everyone and everything for defying him once any infinite amount of time ago... Slaanesh explicitly is torn between salivating and admiring Nagash's insanity and ego, and detesting the absence of thought and sensation he represents; even Khorne is a more-interesting conversational partner, since hate is at least living and exciting, and any given melee *could* be fun from a Slaanesh perspective.

    Cant wait until you do Vampire counts....sorry i mean legions of nagash. Iv had undead since 4th edition fantasy, love the vampire style they used to have access to for options of blender lords, monster choppers or ultimate summoning necromancers. Its one of the reasons AOS ruined the game for me, the lack of options the game gives you with adjusting your lords and heroes to your own style. I find your fun and informative videos drawing me back to trying the game again, just because i love the whole aesthetic and fluff of the game in general. Fantasy has always been my preference over scifi, but my mates play 40k now as we all moved from AOS at the same time.

    As I promised in a previous video: God-like Mortek Guard. The setup is simple, get a block of 40 Mortek Guard, put Two Gothizzar Harvesters behind them making sure that both are within 3" of at least 15-18 Mortek. Deploy a Liege Kavalos 11" from the front row of Mortek and put this death star into Petrifex Elite. Then just walk straight, keeping formation (even if it means skipping the charge phase with them). The Battletome and the FAQ didn't change the Gothizzar's rule, so when a model dies within 3" BOTH of them will proc their heals. On a 4+ resurrecting a Mortek Guard, but you get to roll two diece each time. Against three bloodthirsters, I lost 1 model. After your opponent froze up from witnessing this, it's your turn. Before nominating a unit to fight with, apply buffs: Bludgeon for +1 rend, and Endless Duty for +1 attack. Pile in and melt away all three bloodthirsters. I got 9 Mortek within range for each daemon, then I rolled official GW dice and overkilled two of them, the third failed just enough saves to go down. Then I replayed this whole scenario three times, losing 1-3 Mortek Guard tops, and failing to kill one of the daemons, even when I used cheap chinese dice (technically Not weighted...). I wanted to bring this to a GT to show it to the world, but Nurgle messed it up -_-

  • @Ldizzle41

    @Ldizzle41

    What do you mean the Harvester rule"didn't change"? It most certainly did change with the FAQ. Here it was before: "Roll a dice each time a model is slain within 3" of this model." and after the FAQ: "Page 109 - Gothizzar Harvester, Bone Harvest Change the first sentence of the rule to: ‘Roll a dice each time a model is slain within 3" of any models with this ability.’ " The important change here being "any models". No longer is it each model. You clearly do not get to roll a dice per Harvester after this FAQ. The whole reason it had to be FAQ'd in the first place was because people were using multiple Harvesters.

    @@Ldizzle41 I'm not a native british-english speaker, to me both sentences mean the same thing. dies within 3" of this model dies within 3" of any model I'm not trying to be sarcastic when I ask: Can you explain the difference?

  • @Ldizzle41

    @Ldizzle41

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@BurpAtTheMoon Not a problem! To be honest the problem lies more with GW's wording than your own interpretation of the rules. They are known to be unclear, even by English native standards. This is also compounded by the fact that they have a select phrasing depending on what they are trying to say. With this in mind, whenever GW use the "Any model" phrasing, it is to mean that this ability works once when 1 or more models with this ability are within range and so it is inclusive of all warscrolls in range. Say you have two Harvesters within range. Harvester 1 uses the ability and you note two harvesters are in range and you roll your 4+. If you try to say "hey Harvester 2 gets to roll too", then, unfortunately, that's not the case as Harvester 2 was "counted" when Harvester 1 used its ability. I hope that makes sense, as it is a hard one to explain really. You see this sometime with command abilities too (from any faction), where it will say "any models with this command ability that are in range" or something like that. On the other hand "this model" tends to mean that each warscroll can use this ability.

    @@MrMephistoMori Ah I knew someone would show up with that "clever" comment. We add words to our vocabulary all the time, doesn't mean they shouldn't be properly pronounced. Nagash is a very simple word to say, trying to say it in a British accent is what bugs me. And yes, I am allowed to be annoyed by things.

    Honestly my second least favorite faction...I know AOS is over the top High Fantasy, but they just push it waaaay to far here. Visually they look so advanced as to fit into a Sci Fi aesthetic. Compare them to the bone constructs of the old Tomb Kings. They had a Frankenstein vibe, home made and custom...these new constructs look like they came out of some automotive style assembly line. Designs layed out by some CAD computer guy. Imo they don't even look like they're made of bone. It only works on the eye because they are painted bone colors and you are explicitly told in the fluff they are bone. Look at the legs of any of the units, paint it metalic or yellow...it'll literally look like some kind of sci fi armor. Also, the mounts for special characters are so over designed (so many elements) that they resemble nothing and end up as 'generic evil aligned monster'. Compare the old Maanfred on mount to the new one. Same goes for Archaon. Twisted mutated war horse turns into ???? /end rant, happy wargaming.

    I disagree. A lot of the other pieces look quite distinctively boney. I mean, there's the giant bones acting as the arms for the catapult of the Crawler, and a lot of the bigger models like the Liege's mount and the central part of the Nexus have big distressed skulls on their limbs. The Kavalos horses in general have spines for tails, and the thighs of the Guards seem to be based on ribs. The idea behind the OBR isn't that they're just a Frankenstein's Monster of random bones, but rather there's some order to their design. There is actual standardization in the designs of each dude for reasons other than just being modelling kits - they're the elite phalanx of the God of the Dead, not a normal necromancer's undead levy, and Nagash has far more resources (read: bone) than the Tomb Kings of old could probably have hoped to achieve. That's why he can afford to build them out of a hodgepodge of souls and fossils. That's why they look so uniform. That's why they're so tanky. Besides they're supersoldier skeletons and who wouldn't find that badass?

    @@ctb3335 Some look like bone. Some. Alot of what you mentioned could be said for Space Marines. As in they have bone ornamentation, skulls here and there. My point is especially strong for the lower limbs. And yes, "standardization of designs" is not something I want in undead fantasy. Assembly lines belong to Modernity and scifi. Krull was badass. The previewed mounted skeleton knight as well. Also (and I guess this is fairly subjective) the non-descript mounts for Nagash' lieutenants you didn't defend...like you said 'access to souls and fossils' which sounds cool, but what the hell kind of fossil is that? They would be way cooler on an old fashioned zombie or skeletal dragon, or even some other beast like one from Ogres or Lizardmen.

    Completely disagree, aos models in general look way better to me and i love the detail. And OB look factorymade because they kinda .... are? Also i like the obvious nods to Necrons. I will use Bloodrider Modells instead of the OB cav though, and might modify the riders a bit.
