Picked 2600 points of deepkin off eBay this past winter for a steal. Started painting the spearhead units a few weeks ago (Done with the 10 thralls/and almost done with the Eels). Having a ton of fun painting and looking forward to trying the game for the first time when the new rules are out.

Overall the army wide rules were nerfed with no ability to shut down shooting every target in range but individual warscrolls look buffed. Also sharks can run/shoot/charge and retreat/shoot/charge in the right tide phase. Thats a massive buff.

I’m curious to see how the kings play without forgotten nightmares. At 7/8 wounds currently, and shooting on opponents turn they’re gonna die to a light breeze without the anti shoot shenanigan

Idoneth Deepkin allows a player to play Baby Shark music once per battle to enrage the opponent. This is a major consideration for casual games.

Just getting into Age of Sigmar and was gifted a load of Idoneth, if I wasn’t having enough fun painting them I’m even more excited for these rules I’ll use in my first game! Thanks Rob you’re a legend!

I'm just hoping that you can no longer spam a gazillion sharks in 4th edition, because Idoneth Shark spam lists are utterly miserable to play against at the moment.

That they are. I'm going to assume that the Sharks will either go up in points for this edition and/or there are caps on how many of the same unit you are allowed to bring. Otherwise an already existing problem unit is just going to be made even worse. Shark spam is already awfully unengaging, uninteractive and just extremely unfun to play against for multiple reasons.

Fav army in AoS !

Idoneth Deepkin are my main army, and I am very excited for them in 4th ed, their mobility and control mechanics I think are going to be really fun to play

Seems very much the same with a few nice tweaks/buffs. Loss of forgotten nightmares, maybe this will be in another battalion. Great job Rob, best source for everything AOS 4. I watch the videos even after I read the articles lol

All in all, I'm pretty happy with the changes. A bit sad to see (sea) forgotten nightmare go, but denying shooting beyond 12" in possibly everyturn by the tidecaster has me interested.

Your faction focus reviews for AoS 4 really keeps the hype of AoS 4 going for me. Also helps to paint an early picture of how good or bad a rule or ability might be for the casual person.

I have watched most of these and I truly appreciate the time you take to explain the fundamentals of what new AoS 4 will be structured around for each faction. Looking forward to finally playing a game of AoS when this stuff releases! Here's to hoping that Ossiarch Bonereapers faction focus being a banger!

I quite like their rules. Thinking of making it my seventh AoS army.

Pretty sure the Ishlaen guard only get the 5+ ward if they charged? Overall I love this, they are my main faction and they seem to be even more fun than before. I'm not a fan of the reduce attacks characteristic as I just think it's a lame rule across the board. Very happy with everything else though. Thanks Rob!

Yeah that design choice was a weird one

Teleport spell in opponents turn on a 7 is strong. Many ways to negate opponents battle tactic. Then level up with counter charge or suppression fire

sounds like could be a difficult army to play against

In the novel "court of the blind king" its described that deepkin are incredibly hard to kill due to them living at the bottom of the ocean and the pressure of those depths tempering their bodies

Great coverage, just got into AOS halfway through 3rd edition. It's very cool to see how these factions I don't play function and how they used to in some aspects. Between HEYWOAH and ROB this community is spoiled

Why do people think they can evaluate nerfs and buffs based on those few information…?

So if you look at the command ability that lets you cast in the opponent turn it says cast as if it were your hero phase. Removing the restriction

Thats a contradiction in 3 sentences even. Maybe there are rules he did not explain here but maybe instead of acting like a smartpants you could explain it or just stfu and scroll by 🤷‍♂️

Don't know if its my plaice to say, but I have a bit of a haddock after listening to all that. You cast the net wide butthe video was sunk when you were a bit shallow with your dog(fish)ged use of puns. Fin.
