Make me realized as a man utd fan, how important the 1977 fa cup final is as we beat liverpool to stop them from becoming the first English team to win the treble. 1999 is unbelievable!!

Maybe the most intense match ever. Great chances, close match, saved penalty, red card..... like Fergie said after CL final " football, bloody hell"

not a fan of either side. but this gave me goose bumps then and now. excellent football. You can still feel the electricity

Supporting Man United since 1986 and this match is up there with the best. I’ll never forget it. Watched it live on TV and remember the fans carrying the players off the pitch. My Dad, who likes footy, but hates Man Utd..even celebrated. 😂🔰❤️

One of the best nights of my life. Managed to get on pitch after the game despite 2 stewards' best attempts to stop me. That game had it all. Took my son with me who was 12 at the time and I tell him to this day he won't go to a better match.

@@michaeljagger2079 unfortunately not. I was behind the net so couldn't get near the players once on the pitch. The stewards I mentioned pulled my jacket from my arms so I ran off and collected it later 🤣🤣

It was truly remarkable. I'm a Mancunian Red, who was based in London in 1999. I travelled to Villa Park with school friends also living in London, and saw possibly the best game of football ever. My poor gooner mates stopped at the same traffic lights outside Birmingham after the game and we sung songs to them !! Even the next next day they said they had seen a unique game.

*Giggs intercepts Vieira's pass* Good boy Giggs now pass it *beats one guy* You've got a man wide open just pass *beats another guy* OK now's the best chance to pass *proceeds to beat Keown and Dixon* OMFG THIS ISN'T REAL!!!!!!!!

I'm an Arsenal fan and I was in the audience for this game and even though we lost, it's still probably the most exciting game I've ever been to.

this game had everything you could ask for..i was drained with happy emotion afterwards..that season is obviously United's finest!!👹

This was the game that made me an arsenal supporter. Yes we lost. But back then 7 Yr old me watching the smooth 1 touch football stoking the ball around so beautifully. Roy would of been sent off for that 1st tackle this day and age. Classic game and even now when these 2 play its exactly the same. This is the biggest rivalry even though its no derby.

United that year were just an incredible team. You look back at some of the games they won, Liverpool in the QF, Arsenal in the semi final of the FA cup, Newcastle in the FA cup final and then Bayern Munich in the European cup final. I’d go as far to say they were the best English Football team of al time that season. The reason being is domestically they out fought Arsenal who were one of the best teams ever at the time and also conquered europe. Not sure anyone will come close to this.

This manchester the best in the history this players its unstoppable

All three goals are things of beauty and the whole game was incredible. I can never decide between this and beating Juventus in Turin as being my favorite game of the treble season.

Back when A - the fa cup was huge B - semi’s were played at neutral grounds and it was FARRRRR better than Wembley

One of the last games I went to - after this it became increasingly hard to get tickets and I became dis-illusioned with the atmosphere at OT. What people forget is that even though the late 90's weren't as bad as the 70's and 80's for trouble at games, football was still in it's recovery phase. What do you think the crowd for this game was? Go on have a guess; United v Arsenal, the 2 greatest teams of that generation; split only by Liverpool as regards number of fans in the UK; the FA Cup semi-final, next game Wembley???? Well if I said 'only 50,000' would that be a surprise? What about 'only 40,000', rather astonished? So you'd be dumbfounded if I said just a smidgen over 30,000? Well 30,233 I believe. I'd long since given up my season ticket ('91 I think) and generally it wasn't possible to get tickets at OT or the games I wanted to go to away (City, Liverpool, Everton Villa etc). But United, yes EVEN United, ended up putting tickets on open sale and so I thought why not. And to think it ended up one of the VERY best of games - only beaten for me by Utd v Sheff Weds away '74 (my first 'big' away game, 4-4, mounted police on the pitch due to crowd problems on the Kop, Jim Holton breaking his leg - really, what more could you want!) and United v Liverpool in the SF '85 (1-0 down in the replay but going on to win 2-1 against our fiercest rivals when believe me, NO love was loved between the teams or fans). Anyway - believe it or not, check out that stat!

Best Arsenal team of all time. United got very lucky that season and it was this game that led to their treble. We would’ve won the double again if Bergkamp put away that penalty
