Great video. Breaking the bead on the tyre is my biggest challenge. I would never have thought of using the side stand to do this so thanks for the tip!

I think you can remove the axle first, allowing you to remove the chain adjuster blocks without loosening the chain adjuster settings. There should be enough play in the chain to make this pretty easy. Assuming that you adjustment is where it should be before you start, this will allow you to put the wheel back on without fiddling with chain adjustment. This saves a substantial amount of hassle and requires fewer tools out in the wild.

This is the most useful video I've seen on the subject. Maybe the only unnecessary thing is to loosen the chain adjusters, if you don't have to deal with adjusting the chain, as others also pointed out. Great vid!

Great tutorial. It helped me change a tube on the side of the road today. The only thing I would add is that if your chain tension is within tolerance not to loosen the adjusters.

Thanks alot, great video....especially using the kickstand, one time i used my front end loader to break the bead on a tire that i took off of it....necessity is the mother of invention.

"One kick and it's in" - was that a lucky kick? :-) I had to beat the hell out of that wheel, with both feet and knuckles! Nice video, thanks for posting!

Great video but one thing you've got to be careful of is when you sprayed the lube the first time - It must have gone through the wheel onto the rotors/discs. Be sure to clean it off or cover them in the first place.

Hy it's a nice Videomanual and a great example. one part we don't do in Germany, WD40 is based on oil and silicon and be on the tire for a long time. (betwen tire and rim) Better use a luiqid soap at home or at the camping place.

When the tyre is off, just take the opportunity to tap the sprockets and make sure that they are firm and tight! If you want to replace one, now is the time to do it...

Great video - thanks. Do the tire irons scratch or dent the rims at all? Is there a recommended way to protect?

Great Vid, what kind of tire do you recommend for a fellow F 800 GS rider that likes to go off road, but still wants control in tight turns on the street? I went with the Avon before and loved it but it was too soft, and resulted in it quickly wearing out, due to a lot of street riding. anyway, what kind of tire is that, the Metzeler Karoo 3 Tire ?
