Hey guys! First of all, I want to apologize to everyone for this video and to the owners of the Challenger and Camaro. Bimmer-Tech has found out that this tune can make the car potentially gain up to 100bhp. I was not aware of such a thing until today. Initially, I was told the car would not gain any power, I confirmed a few times. The tune maker claims now, that the car can gain up to 100bhp with this new map, I was told initially otherwise. I didn’t want the M3 tuned, never planned. So this is unfortunately not a stock M3, again I want to apologize to everyone.

Hi guys! We would like to apologize for this misunderstanding and clear out some confusion. Our tunes were always designed to provide extra power & torque, but our focus was always also on engine longevity (making it run cooler), and fuel consumption (making it less thirsty). Hence the miscomunication between us and Sam. Cheers guys!

As someone who just got a professional tune, it adds BHP. Went from 182whp to over 220whp. Fuel to air ratio, maps and timings make a huge diff. I also have a pedal commander; if I'm stuck with my car for the foreseeable future might as well have fun with it

You can have a tune for the transmission. It shifts faster and keeps you in the power band longer without adding power.

It absolutely makes more power. Just cleaning up the afr's, add whp and wtq. A motor that runs more efficiently will net higher numbers, cooler engine temps, better fuel efficiency (partial throttle), faster tip-in etc

@@99-Zulu Yeah and now they are worth more than what they sold for new. They had outdated tech even at the time they were new, and the LS3 was old as well. The rebadging of Holden vehicles has been a huge mistake by GM. They are always way behind in tech, and have a short production run that leaves owners in a bad spot when it comes to replacement parts that are bespoke to the car. I learned my lesson after owning a GTO, i liked the SS, the G8 was ok, but never again. The 6th gen camaro/ATS/CTS platform would be great for a V8 performance 4 door chevy.

A tuned twin turbo M3 versus stock v8's 😂😂😂. This piggyback tune on the M3 is equivalent to the Carbahn piggyback. Gives you 30-40 horsepower and torque gain with increased throttle response but keeps the car within limits to not hurt the engine

I don't think this was far at all. You have a tune vs stock cars. I lost interest right away after knowing the M3 was gonna win every race because it was modified. Not a good way to compare cars.

Lt1 needs to slap shift and let that 10 speed do its thing…

great races...the M3 is very potent right out of the box so the results shouldn't really surprise too many people. Given the weight of the Challenger I think it did much better than I expected.

I agree. Hard to compete with more advanced tech that’s tuned and lighter. Would like to see all these cars tuned to see the difference although it won’t matter because the bmw is turbo and not even tuned for power with extra boost up top for hp and tq gains but rather optimized for the power it is. Looks like bmw has a lot of room for optimizing tune factory. Thanks for the comparison Sam, good video.👍

Oooh this should be a juicy race

The f80 m3 comp makes about 450whp which is about 517 crank hp. They are underrated from factory. Plus a DCT and it makes sense. The m3 is also 200lbs lighter than the Camaro. Also the Camaro makes 400whp = 460 crank hp. And both cars are doing the exact same 1/4 mile times as stated by each OEM. So this is basically stock vs stock cars. The f80 m3 is pretty damn fast for an old car Either way the m3 would have beaten the Camaro even if it was stock

F80 comp is beautiful. I have the F82. What performance.

The challenger and charger 392s are big boats. Most other cars with the same horsepower range beat them easily. Even the Audi RS3 that only has 401 horsepower easily blow the doors of these boats.

With the bumpy track that is not very wide, and three powerful cars that are RWD, it was probably safer 2 by 2 races.

Even without the tune, bmw is rated at the wheels while the other two cars are rated at the crank.

Sam, the Awaken tune does add about 15% more hp and tq to a M3 Comp. So you are close to 500 hp and 449 tq

For those saying that he tuned his car, go watch his previous videos and his 1/4 mile time is pretty much the same. Those m3s are ridiculously fast!! Definitely faster than the good ole muscle cars!! The v8s sound better though 😂!!!💪👊👍

So basically they did a drive by wire response tune, probably fixed the trans tune and launch control ramping in boost quicker by advancing spark and timing. Which doesn’t translate to upping power but rather makes more power faster giving better times and response.

We know the M3 is faster, but the best way to race those scats from a roll is to start in manual mode so you get the right gear, but switch to automatic as soon as the race starts because you can't shift better than the car can automatically.

Roll racing in the Camaro. Use manual mode to keep it up in the revs..once you hit the cone ..punch it and put it into drive and let it shift itself.

Sounds like he's shifting the Camaro early and missing out on some top end.

You need at least S58 to beat the S55

That’s not how you shift an 8 speed automatic. You leave it in drive, press the paddle to the desired gear, and floor it and let the computer shift it. You would think “professionals” would know the car’s better.

We did auto and manual shift exactly on both cars. Similar mode for both cars.

Thats not true with dodge... you manually drop or auto mode leaves you in the wrong gear. The trick with dodge is to start manual mode and then put it back into automatic as the laggy tach causes you to shift at the wrong rpms or hit the rev limiter.

One is turbocharged, and the other naturally aspirated. Why is this hard for you to understand ? Oh yeah, dick riding. Like I said, put the supercharger in the challenger and do a real drag.

@Tommy Manning Art Also, you should check your research. These guys know cars, right? The f80 has a 0-60 of 2.8 vs. the challengers 4.2 seconds. F80 has significantly more torque as well, with the twin turbo, which is also an advantage over NA. You just wanted to act like you knew something when you clearly had a biased opinion from the jump. Even if it lost, you'd still dick ride. You're a clown.

A tuned 6.4 would be taking this the whole way. Seen this in person comp m3 with tune scat tuned scat 0-60 3.6 seconds. M3 4.1 seconds. Glad you got an amazing tuner sir!

The m3 quarter mile times where the same before and after the tune. If an m3 gets over 4 second 0-60 it’s due to traction issues or poor driving skills. The scat pack is a far worse car than the m3. You can tune the m3 to vastly more power than the old 6.4 that 3.6 is probably the fastest you’ll ever get with a scat lol and the m3 almost does it stock

LOL scat will get scattered. Way to heavy and cant add much of any power on a stock NA vehicle, possibly 10-12 hp more which isnt going to make up a 3-4 car gap 😂

@@08turboSS you literally don't have a single bit of knowledge on this. My 6.4 is 600 at crank with no blower/cam/porting. A procharger would add 100 herspers with ease with 5lb. If you don't know about mopars nor American made muscle, just don't speak.

I don't doubt the outcome, but next time have a third person counting out the start. There may be a slight advantage when it's the person racing...even subconsciously. Kind of expected that the M3 would be faster in the 1/4 mile...it's lighter.

Peddle Comm adds a little zip off the line and crisp throttle response but wont make the vehicle quicker with adding power. I def wouldnt put one of those on anything either.

Tune + boost. But nobody ever mentions that. I tuned my turbo daytona and it only got 3 more psi and of course an actual tune and its a different car.

The tune didn’t add an extra peak horsepower… it’s a driveline and transmission tune. It allows the car to use its power more effectively basically. It’s marginally faster to stock. Stock m3 comp runs the same 1/4 mile that same got

Not sure why so many youtubers “manually” shift automatic cars, that slows them down. Also, each car should be in their lowest gear, not the “same” gear and then switched back to auto mode.

@08turboSS the Camaro 2SS is 3696 lbs and the LT1 is like 3685 lbs. Both A10. So the 13 pound extra will make no difference. 2SS has better suspension, brakes, magneride, better wheels and has better balance than the LT1. My 2023 2SS hit the 1/4 mile 11.9 to 12.2 depending on how good the launch is. Completely stock. So the 1/4 mile time is verry similar to the M3 BMW

They should go whit the M4 base on the model of the other cars been coupes 😑😏

On paper the challenger has 485HP and 475TQ which is more than the bmw so the “tune” should’ve made it match up correctly? So idk why y’all are complaining

More hp doeant equal quicker. 700-750 lbs lighter is equal to about a 65-75 hp diff to make up forbthe extra weight but a base tune on m3c puts it in the 500-525 hp zone and about 450 tq. The aero, supreme dct and 700+ lbs less will still win
