A fun fact. We do know who L.W. Wright is. A man by the name of Larry Ernest Wright. We learned this recently and sadly he died this year.
“You can’t penalize one but not the other!” -Suzi “We’re sanctioned by NASCAR, the rules can change at any time for any or no reason” -Tony Stewart
That Tony Stewart ‘crash more cars’ interview is one of the greatest in sport history all together, and proof that Americans can do absolutely top notch sarcasm.
One of the things that makes Talladega more interesting than Daytona even though they have the almost same design is that Bill Frane thought that he designed Daytona too narrow, so when he built Talladega, he made it wider. You won't see 4 wide at Daytona, but you will at Talladega.
this is one of my favorite videos about NASCAR, so glad your covering it
These are my favorite types of videos when someone who just doesn’t know what NASCAR is watches the history of one of the main tracks or just what happens on a daily basis it’s just very entertaining
"you can't penalize one driver and not the other" oh no my friend this is NASCAR and Jr.s last name was Earnhardt, and I love Jr. but NASCAR was never gonna penalize him for that.
The SEMINOL Indians In Florida, NEVER officially surrendered.
The Slapshoes "Tire Wars" video is another good one
Here's another fun fact: us locals do not pronounce it "Talla-day-guh", we say "Talla-dih-guh". The narrator pronounces it that way at roughly 7:30. Think "dig", not "dayg", if that makes any sense, lol. Technically, it's meant to be pronounced exactly the way it's phonetically spelled, so its really pronounced "Talla-deh-guh".
I enjoyed this video so much! I live only about an hour away from the track and have honestly been like one or two times and it’s honestly insane and always a good time.
i went to the 2023 yellawood 500 at talladega

Me too! It was a pretty good race and a fun time in general
You have to be there to appreciate just how huge the track is. I saw some amazing feats of driving and some horrific crashes.
shit.. this video about Talladega it's one of the best that I watched... great reaction
Dale Earnhardt "The Day" five part series would be a good video to react to.
I'd just turned 16 years old about a month before attending the first NASCAR race at Talladega in September 1969.
The greatest irony was the Miccosukee tribe car being chased by the National Guard and US Army sponsored entries.
Shake & bake
You should watch some of the Davey Allison videos. He was truly gifted. Also the race in which Bill Elliott came back to win is a must watch. He was two laps down, and passed the entire field three times, without a caution, and won the race.

Awesome Bill was running 'rocket fuel', silicon w/ ammonium perchlorate oxidizer. Aka AP sublimation. The fuel is activated with a closed throttle, as it needs a high vacuum to sublimate. The Silicon reacts w/ atm N2 for an exothermic reaction forty times greater than H2O. The byproduct is slick as snot, and can be seen covering the camera lens in the Mark Martin footage. Yet once it cools it can't be removed from the windshield, hence windshield tear offs. Other examples include parade laps in the 82' and 92' Indy 500, as well as Montoya hitting the jetdryer in the 2012 Daytona 500. Indy cars hide the AP in the block, while NASCAR used the intake manifold plenum. SiN is a ceramic, so the engines only last one race. Indy car engines are not 60% efficient, and are preheated due to the AP not close tolerances.
It took a little bit of time before they realized that the car had gone over the wall. I had noticed it as it was occurring. I now live near the Daytona Beach International Speedway.
That new intro looks good Suzi! Excellent editing!

Thank you! ☺️
New intro lets go
New intro looks good! Thank you for watching this video it is such a great watch!
I was raised in Childersburg Alabama. About 20 minutes from the speedway. Around the county I live in, we usually closed our schools down for race weekend when NASCAR always returned twice a year! Haven’t missed a race since fall 2008!
Great video. Last time I went to a Talladega race was '97 I think. I need to get back.
NASCAR bent the double yellow line rule for JR so they could keep the fans happy. JR was the sports most popular so it’d be dumb for business to not have him win like dad did.
I live like 10 minutes away from That track, I always go the short track (dirt) instead lol
You should do either a twitch stream or a reaction video of the movie Talladega Nights! Also Ford vs Ferrari if you haven't seen them
22:24 I forgot about the song he played here lol
Could you please react to NASCAR’s greatest saves and NASCAR gen 7 greatest moments
OK girl, I see you with the new intro.
You should check out NASCAR’s video on the mysterious story of L.W. Wright (kzread.info/dash/bejne/pGx2yduMYtXUeLQ.htmlsi=YsoPytyaPTfgBrPm). One of the most bizarre and interesting NASCAR stories I’ve ever heard - it’s almost like something out of a movie script 😅 (worth noting, that after NASCAR posted that video, L.W. Wright’s true identity was actually uncovered and he was even tracked down by The Scene Vault Podcast and featured on an episode to tell his side of the story - may also be worth checking out)
Awesome reaction!!!
You should watch the Indy 500 qualifying highlights.
Could you please react to : NASCAR Next Gen Injuries by NFJJ. Ithink you'd find it interesting vid.
FIRST!!!!❤ (this video was so good!!!!)
Been following Nascar from a time when you read about the race in Hor Rod magazine. 71 now and my biggest problem today is Toyota being in Nascar ruins it for me. They have pretty much bought Nascar. Came in with their VERY deep pockets. Remember Toyota sells in EVERY country of the world. So, they sell far more cars than GM and Ford, so they have much more money for R&D.
if i can recommend you a video to react, here it is: "The Worst NASCAR Race Ever: The 1969 Talladega 500" by S1apsh0es

Gonna say it again, also check out the video Leaving North Wilkesboro by Slapshoes as well. Thankfully it has not aged well, but that is the great thing about it
The Indians leaving their land of their own volition and the us civil war was about states rights are just two of the things that Alabamans tell themselves to help them feel better about their history.
