I would like to see points award all the way down the field. Would give more substance to the lower order battle imho.

Good summary. Kinda been following the sport less on socials since 2021 despite being active on the most hardcore forums/pages since I was a kid. F1 is something you’re stuck with for life amongst other sports so enjoy these summaries without investing too much time.

Points should be given to every position but last. It will make it more competitive for the bottom teams not to be last and crest more story lines for the race. Great Job with news!!!

Hi Marc. No smoke blowing here :), I do so like your posts as I know what you say is good solid info. No BS, hype etc that far too many people sensationalise! So thank you. Regarding SeedStream, I do look at it and like it very much. I'm curious though that this video does not show there.

Love seeing these vids of you walking with the dogs talking F1 again, Mark! I'm all for the Points Scoring change! Makes no sense fighting for 0 pts at the back of the grid. I agree, they should give points all the way down the grid except for non-finishers, and if all 20 cars finish, only the driver in 20th gets 0 pts.

Great dog Elvis! Better than the dog's currently dressed in green! Carlos could grow by going to Sauber? LOL, sink without trace more likely. If he wins a couple more for Ferrari in his final year that will be bookending his career. a sad loss who was much closer to Charles than everyone expected.

I recall when only the top six scored points, even with more than 20 cars on the grid. Maybe going back to that, plus adding an 11th or even 12th team would make it more a "sport" and less a NASCAR "show"...

New F1 points system: Thumbs up! If half of the cars don't get any points there will be no incentive for the last cars to try to reach positions further up the grid.

Sainz and Hulk reunion does sound intriguing.

I think Zhou will stay in F1. He is no Senna, Max or Alonso, but he legitimately can keep up with the rest of the field, and it’s good to have more drivers from the region. We need less Harianto, Yoong or the countless Japanese drivers that weren’t Yuki, Aguri, Sato and Kobayashi. I do hope to have a genuine break out star from there.

Every time they didn't fuck him over or his machine did not explode(which in the three years he's been in F1 is absolutely stupendous) he drove great. It's not that Valterii has been better than him. May have had a few more flashes, but usually was the slower one. Certainly in the races

I guess I'm 1 of the few who doesn't like extending points paying positions further down the grid. It's not a huge deal, I'm not passionate about it, but I like it as is & prefer points to be more prestigious & difficult to attain. Ntm I believe everyone is keenly aware now that in some instances a finish of 11th, 12th, or 13th can be impressive & doesn’t go unnoticed.

Agreed. Don’t reward the the bottom quarter plus there’s nearly always a dnf. If you dnf - no points. Points for the top 15 places, excluding dnf’s. 25, 20, 18, 15, 12, 10 to 1. Or just go old school with 10 to 1. Ahhh, simpler times.

I like the idea of Mick coming back to Alpine. I would like to see what he is capable of in better machinery than the Haas he had. Although to be honest (and I don't remember how i connected the dots originally) I thought Bottas to Alpine was going to be a thing.

My most thought about driver right now is Valtteri Bottas. Not sure he wants to return to Williams unless he sees it as getting their act together. Return to Mercedes? I think he would if he had a 2 year deal, but surely they will discard him (or discard George) for Antonelli.

Thanks a lot Marc, that was really interesting! I'm concerned about my compatriots, Ricciardo and Piastri, and in particular Ricciardo. He got 4th in the Sprint last race, then did poorly in qualifying for the race, and was wiped out! Is it just bad luck, or has he lost his sparkle? What do you think?

Thanks for your answer. But I wrote about Ricciardo, not Piastri. I'm not worried about Piastri, he is doing very well in his second season. He needs to improve his racecraft, but he's still young. No, it's Ricciardo I'm worried about. He was unlucky with Red Bull, first with Marko's preference for northern European drivers - Vettel (who he beat in the end) and then Verstappen. Because of this Ricciardo made bad decisions with Alpine and McLaren. What next?

F1 needs to provide much better racing entertainment on the track where it is less predictable and no one team dominates. What's going to happen in 26? Probably the same as in the last two major regulation changes. One team gets it right and dominates for the next 5 years! Hope not, but the evidence is there to see. In the last year before a reg change the designs converge and the field tightens up.

Go watch IndyCar then. The pack has never been closer and the only RB that was kinda dominant was the RB19. The RB18 had competition and the RB20 definitely has competition. It has simply not happened before that there is one driver who is just this incredibly good as Verstappen. I cannot stress enough how very on it that Checo has been this year. Easily one of the five best performing drivers on the grid. Even with considerable damage he drove a respectful race in Australia. Redbull noticed and are seriously considering renewing his contract. It's because of Lewis's constant nagging and politically directed words over the radio that you've got your judgement clouded. I am getting sick and tired of him constantly complaining and saying "they're so fast man" on every single opportunity. They are not, Lewis. Your car has been fastest in the speed trap more than the McLaren and Redbull combined. Stop inventing. Your car isn't miles off.

7:10 .. and not to mention that Carlos Sr will likely have a legacy position at Audi Racing going forward as well. They already love the family!

Mick Schumacher? Really? Haven't we all cringed at times listening to the exchange between Charles and his engineer? I sometimes had the impression that the engineer's understanding of the English language wasn't all that great. I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.

Max has always said to want the fastest car in 2026, so his only option is Aston Martin. Red Bull will have a bad engine in 2026 as Ford doesn't have the experience on that what they must do: and that is the electric side of the power unit.

Max to Mercedes? Won’t happen until Merc show that they have a race winning car.

Ancient Romans were use to say "pecunia non olet", money don't stink. But in a choice between American and Chinese money for Haas I would believe Sargeant has more chances. For the point change I think is ridiculous. 10 is enough!

Mick had several seasons at Haas and was out of his depth, then KMag came back after a year away from F1, and made Mick look very poor.

Recency bias. I’ve followed his whole career & he’s the most forgettable driver around. Even if you take out his debut podium & the expectations. F1 oddly done a 360 with an obsession for guys who have never been good. What’s next? The return of Max Chilton & Pascal Wherlein?

I used to like watching videos and comments here and today I will be unsubscribing from this channel because I am a true Hamilton fan I have noticed that most British and foreign media folks always target Lewis Hamilton with some of the vilest and slanderous insults disguised as analyses. I did not expect this from Marc. As a fellow Brit and ex-McLaren employee he of all people ought to know better. Hamilton has comported himself exemplary throughout his F1 career and has not said or behaved in the manner Max Verstappen is on record of doing in his short years in F1 yet Marc nor these F1 journos have not written any disparaging or condescending articles about Max or any other driver. The final straw came today when I was reading an article a friend sent to me from Planet F1 by a known racist reporter Michelle Foster who always seems to write or report negative and slanderous articles about Hamilton citing dubious sources we hardly know but who are mainly from the Netherlands a place which bred the like of Foster in a fake country they created in South Africa. Ms Foster does not write or harang any other driver like she does Hamilton and for her to cite Marc's comments in her vile report is enough for me to unsubscribe here and hope this site does not proper and others like it because the days of racist singling out of a prominent person are long gone just like the apartheid era shame on Ms Foster and shame on Marc for implying Hamilton wants to walk into Ferrari and make Charles a "wingman" whatever that means, Notice this veiled insult is not levelled against any other driver on the grid on those who happens to partner Hamilton are thrown this gaslighting bile. Shame on you Marc!
