@@petersampson5202 Dear Peter. This is the letter I wrote to Tim Masso after I received the watch. I payed a heavy price for this watch. Dear Tim, Enclosed you will find a wrist shot of my new F.P. Journe Octa Perpetual 42mm rose gold time piece which I purchased from your company last week. It is stunning. This watch made its way to me in trying times. My entire family ( wife,mother,brother,sister-in-law,and myself) suffered from the Corona 19 virus. We are all well now with the exception of my sister-in-law who passed away. This taught us that life is fleeting and enjoy our accomplishments and each other everyday. I already had purchased what I called my Corona 19 watch ( P.P. 5396G-014). But while looking at this F.P Journe, which I had done numerous times, my wife simply looked at me and said “ Get It”. With the help of Hans, we were able to procure this watch. Hans, is not just a salesman but a lover of watches who makes sure that a watch is the right fit for you. He is a great asset to your company and I will do much business with him in the future. While waiting for this watch to arrive, misfortune struck again. Our beloved cat( Pumpkin) of 18 years passed. Even though this watch marks our 5th year anniversary, and with the blessing of my wife it will be called “ Pumpkin”. In closing I urge everyone of you to buy your dream watch and wear it everyday. I wonder, if you increment the months from, say 30 on April and get to February, does it display 30 on February? a date that does not exist? or does it change the date to 28?. Anyway, thanks for uploading!

Tal: Tim Mosso can correct me if I am wrong but this incredible timepiece "knows" how many days there are in any given month, including February and leap years. If the timepiece is allowed to keep time continuously (that is, you always have it powered up rather than letting the power reserve deplete completely), the days/dates/months will not have to be rest until the year 2100. The reason for this is that years that are divisible by 4 are leap years, but , years that end in "00" must be divisible by 400 to be a leap year. A perpetual calendar does not take this last part into account, so the watch will have to be adjusted in the year 2100. Since I do not own a perpetual calendar, this is not an issue I worry about much but it would be awesome to own one, esp. an F.P. Journe.

@@laguna172 Thank's for the long reply, but I actually know what a Perpetual caldenar is. I just wonder what happens to the date when you advance the month using the crown to an "invalid" date like the example I gave above. I know it "knows" all the 28/29/30 months to the year 2100.. Thank you again but looking still for the answer.

@@laguna172 There are few possibilities: 1) the date advances to the 28 (or 29 if it is a leap year. 2) wrong date and month - worst case. 3) Safety mechanism won't allow you to advance the month to an invalid date - best scenario. From journe I expect the third solution.
