Word of advice for anyone who wants to beat the ancient dragon, using Torrent was the secret that helped me win. Joust it back and forth, never sticking around for more than a hit or two. Only hit it when you and the dragon are moving in a straight line towards each other. Do it right, and you'll already be out of range by the time electricity starts flying. Fighting it on foot was horrible for me due to the lack of a proper lock on so this was what really helped me at least.

Man was so tired and angry after finally defeating Rellana that he didn’t even notice he got her remembrance to buy the twin swords from two finger maiden back at the roundtable. Edit: Also, fuck that Ancient Dragon. Something about that specific dragon makes it so god damn annoying to fight, hell, without summons, it’s even harder to fight than Bayle. Re-edit: In short, don’t even bother fighting the ancient dragon. It’s not going to block progress like Rellana, but it also doesn’t drop anything useful outside the max upgrade stone.

Yeah I don’t get how to fight Sennesax straight up either. Had to use Torrent to fight it. It doesn’t keep its head down long enough to deal good damage and the lightning AOE in the water is beyond annoying

(sorry if there are spelling mistakes, english is not my native language) Its so hard because the dragon is in water, and when it uses its lightning it goes all through the water and shocks you, thats why it so hard, took me 3 hours to finaly realize that most of the feild arena you fight it in is in water, so what I did was everytime I started combat I went close enough for it to start and then ran all the way back to the stake of marika respawn where there is no water and bam, no more bullsh!t water in lightning, tho it took me an hour cuz the dragon sometimes just goes back into the water, hope it helps you :D

I would say that Igon/Drake hunter is one of the main summons that really amplifies the fight with Bayle with his voice acting and he’s a ranged fighter who can tank some super attacks so you can go on the offensive with a sword.

Seeing you struggle on Senesax Afro is crazy. You can get through no problem if you stay on your horse. I dont think youre ready for whats immediately after him. Bayle is no joke. Its not broken like Commander Gaius (wait till you experience that nightmare) but it is no walk in the park. All I can say is one thing: RESPECT the dragon and you stand a chance. Overall very satisfying battle and the greatest dragon boss they've ever done imo

Also, you may be there way too early. I ran around a lot and beat tons of major and minor bosses before stumbling onto Jagged Peak. My scadutree blessing level was like 11. I'm trying to do everything I can before Messmer and the last stretch of the game.

I haven't fought him yet but if you seriously say he is the best dragon boss FromSoft ever made, does that include Midir in that list? Because Midir was the best, well maybe only second to Gayle, both from Dark Souls 3 DLC's

@@xXx-un3ie I say yes simply on scale alone. His second phase is terrifying to deal with but remarkable to witness. Midir stayed on the ground for most of the battle if I remember and Gayle got airborne but never did attacks on this scale. Just you wait. It was the second to most challenging for me so far but very rewarding when you learn his patterns. I went in with Darkmoon Greatsword and Rock Sling. Great for getting critical hits on him with the frost damage from the sword. I found out after that I could have used the Dragon Katana you get right before Jagged Peak thats great for dragons. I felt like an idiot. And I missed a questline involving Bayle too. I'll just have to do a playthrough 2 in the future.

A tip that helped me with the dragons is to focus on their head, you do more damage. For the fire, if the dragon is on the ground & they’re about to shoot the fire straight at you run either to the left or right, don’t have to roll. If they jump up & is about shoot the fire straight down run backwards, and if they jump high in the air and shoot fire to your right run diagonally to the left, might have to roll as the fire gets close for the I-frames just in case.

Definitely enjoying watching Afro's sadness, madness and joy more than just hearing like before

Ik imma get flamed to hell and back by souls fans for saying this, but whatever; I don’t care how “rEwARdINg” it is at the end, if you’re stuck for hours on end trying to deal with a boss that’s shitting out nigh-undodgeable anime combo after nigh-undodgeable anime combo with no room to breath to the point where it’s not fun and just pain, or you just end up cheesing it because you just don’t care anymore, then there something very wrong with your game’s enemy design. @SleepyCyborg66 As a souls fan, you're 100 percent correct. But the final boss in phase 2 is the only one of the whole DLC that I felt was unfun to the point of taking away from the experience (with the possible exception of those damn hippos). Everything else was top-notch FromSoft gold in my eyes. I hope they end up patching that final boss, just enough to make him doable without cheese.

@@Gorlami90 yeah I know but with every other dragon you can lock on to the leg for when you actually have a opportunity to hit it but for some reason the game won’t let you lock on to the leg of this one specific dragon which makes the fight more a of pain in the ass.

Just a quick heads-up... You are here WAAAAY too early, lol. Of the dlc bosses, in terms of difficulty, the no.2 - no.4 spots are ALL on Malenia's tier of difficulty, with no.1 100% surpassing her. Bayle is in the no.2 spot to put that into perspective, lol. You do not need, nor should you want to be here, bro. And right now, you're just fighting his henchmen. You remember all of those dead dragons you saw coming up? Those were killed by Bayle 😂
