These guys really like showing each other thier wood
I totally agree with Marcell, in my experience fingerboard it’s a very(probably the most) important wood for the sound of the bass
Really nice! It's like a supersized version of my workshop and stash. It's interesting how much more adventurous bass customers are about material selection than electric guitar customers who often just want mahogany, alder and flame maple. I'm definitely feeling like I haven't done enough basses.

That headstock geometry is also cool. I came to the same conclusion when I was tooling up for production - neither the tilted headstock nor the Fender flat headstocksolve all the needs of string angle across the nut, but a hybrid of the two does. It's just trickier to actually make, so I didn't stick with it.
I’m a happy Fbass owner since 2018,BN5 ,8.22lbs.I had the best customer service experience with Marcel and Mr George.Looking forward to some day pass by the shop.Amazing basses!

Hey Jesse i love my CE24 Sunburst i bought from you about 6 years ago! Nothing else i have has the same feel as this guitar!
PRS used to do those “ping” tests when showing why he preferred Brazilian rosewood for fretboards.
I didnt know u guys have a youtube channel. I still havent gone into your store, but i live locally in Syracuse. One of these days i want to have u guys upgrade one of my guitars. Keith from 5 Watt World speaks very highly of u guys.

Great..now we're all drunk on the job.
F basses are so nice! I really want one, but it's way outside my budget... I used their custom builder online, and what I wanted came out over $8k.... 😅

So, please explain how a fretboard affects the TONE of a string moving across a magnetic field ?

It does matter on a fretless bass; the string makes contact with the wood. I don’t think it matters on a regular fretted instrument.

Swap the neck on a bolt on and you can tell the difference, especially fretless. Body woods I'm not convinced of.

By making the neck flex more/less when the note is plucked, making the timbre just a tiny bit different. It's mechanical, not mystical.

I didn’t believe until I went there and A/B’d basses. I was surprised to actually notice a difference in tone based on the change in fretboard wood. Also comparing body woods, I was surprised that I noticed differences in tone. I wish I knew the science or logic behind it but I don’t. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion : )
The only basses I’d consider paying 4 grand+ for are Ken smiths. That’s because it has a “signature” sound. Smiths and Fender jazz basses imo have absolutely recognizable tones. Nowadays w/ so many pickup configurations and options, you can get great sounds from 2000$ basses. Nobody wants to spend 7 grand on a bass and get to a show and, within yourself, realize that new custom isn’t WORLDS beyond their fender American jazz or even their upper end lakland skyline. I’ve seen great players get hi end basses but eventually go back to their Marcus Miller Fender or even a higher end but cheaper custom they may have had. Some people stay playing a 8000$ bass only because they paid 8000& for it. I love my 2 grand area priced basses. They sound great stock and some with a few pickup upgrades I did to them. But at the end of the day, to each his own

Yeah for sure. You definitely need to know what you want when shopping in this range
I wish I could afford an F Bass =(
he looks like young Bobby Vega😉😉
If f bass wants 5 6k for basses they need to come with a hardshell case bare minimum.. period
41:25 heheh
One day I may sell a kidney or begin performing sexual favors to afford an F Bass 🤩
I've watched this video several times. Every time is worse than the time before. I don't need an F Bass. I don't need an F Bass. I don't need an F Bass... Thoroughly disgusted. What's the number for F Bass?
