The one thing I notice from these videos is there is no finding an F-22, there is only being found *by* and F-22.

Seems in the Raptor your biggest challenges are deciding Who Dies First and running out of missiles before you run out of targets.

It's the latest in stealth technology. The new F-14s come with a black smoke dispenser, faux flame throwers to simulate a flaming engine, and a fly-by-remote system so that it allows the pilots to eject at an opportune moment, meanwhile still flying the aircraft to its real target. The opponent is meant to think that the aircraft is out of the fight, but it's actually continuing on its merry way to deliver a payload of death: either munitions if it still has them, or by crashing itself into the target. Unfortunately, since the raptor is also stealth but in a different way (it doesn't really exist in a conventional 3-dimensional space), the modified F-14 could not engage it after the pilots bailed so it just continued to fly aimlessly...

The stealth aspect is so satisfying to see in action. Most of the targets have no idea they're being engaged until they hear an explosion and see something important fall off their airplane.

Love the raptor content. But to truly challenge it you should collaborate with Hasard Lee. He flew F-16 and F-35 in Afghanistan and it would be cool if you did with him, what you did with the Rafael pilot. Anyways, love the content and have a great week!!

to be fair as its based on "publicly" available information! the real thing is most likely BETTER than what we see here. secondly i have the feeling the F-35 would be able to do this exact mission almost identical way (no heatseekers though, but you would have 2 F-35s for that job anyway)

@@Asghaad Well with so mainly enemy fighters in the air, I think the F-22 is more suitable for dealing with the air-threats. As you see in most of the F-22 videos, GS is not afraid to merge due to the F-22's superiority in both dogfights and BVR. The F-35 needs to be more cautious not to merge though while decent in a dogfight, it is not dominant like the F-22.

Rumor has it the F-14 is still flying with its dual engine fire.

A SEAD operation with F-16s in a guarded airspace (SU-35, SU-30, etc.) + S-400 or S-300 would be nice.

I will never tire of the wonderous sound of the F-22's rotary cannon firing in DCS. PURE ECSTASY

The Raptor is UNQUESTIONABLY the finest combat aircraft ever produced. I am not aware of any point in the history of aviation where this level of utter dominance has been even approached, much less achieved. The only fault with the F-22 is that we don't have 5000 of them.

As a Swede I must admit it did hurt seeing those Gripen jets being shot down.

Could you imagine being at the early warning system and looking up and seeing the Raptor that just slaughtered its way to it. To think that he may just fly on by. Only to see it do a reverse uno on them vertically.

Doing SEAD against heavily fortified RU positions in F-16 would be nice to see how it would go in a sim :). Great vid as always!

except all this was was good utilization of ambush tactics with stealth advantage - F-35 can do exactly the same job secondly its highly unlikely either of those bases would be left unprotected by SAMs and there would be dozens of MANPADs to be taken into account - so no flyover the enemy airfield and no gunning the radar, it would have to be HARMed or bombed using JDAMs, trying to fly this close would end with getting Stingered to oblivion at minimum

The Raptor became an A-10 for a second there

If they had broken up the original proposal into groups of 50 aircraft and spread that out over a longer time period, then I think the procurement would have gone smoother and would have given greater advantages to L-M and their suppliers to work out production issues with the components with each new group.

You should try a similar f22 v NATO but with more of the European aircraft (Rafael, eurofighter, grippen, mirage) since they have newer and better radar/avionics and the meteor/irst

US is good at naming their birds, Tomcat (Will tear itself apart to win), Eagle (Strikes hard, fast and far away), Viper (Deadly agile and deadly efficient) , and Raptor (Don’t Go into the Tall Grass!), all sharing characteristics with their animal personas.

I think you should do F-22 vs F-22. Just to put to the test the theory that stealth on stealth combat will result in a dogfight, thus validating the need for dogfighting ability in a fighter.

I don't know if you did something different for this video, but the external shots are _gold._ Those missile shots are so satisfying.

Love the content, originally came here after one of the edits about the F-22 sneaking up on you when you were in one of the Russian jets. Came here knowing very little about fighter aircraft, and the way you blend entertainment and bite size pieces of education in has been a great learning aid and made it very enjoyable to watch and learn about these magical pieces of tech. suggestions for these mission scenarios in the future: MANPADs it wouldn't be too far out there for airbases and small outposts like an EWR site to have their own MANPADs cus they're just so conveniently sized compared to AA guns
