On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

i think one of the big things that the 22 has over the felon is the engines, the felons engines are just metal tubes, no stealth to them whereas the f22 engines are sorta hidden and have the stealthy flappy things

Honestly, probably even more dominating, since the F-35 is even stealthier than the F-22, and with two of them, they could theoretically take out those targets quicker.

@@Krebssssssss The F-35 is not stealthier than the F-22 but probably stealthy enough to still win the engagement with the 8 AMRAAMS they can carry between themselves.

I have a few questions, if any good fellow is willing to answer: 1. Why is it that the AWACS can see the F-22, but ground radar is unable? 2. Can the AWACS theoretically guide the Eurofighter's missiles? 3. Are the F-22 missiles guided by their own active radar, or passive detection? 4. Is the F-22 momentarily visible when it opens its weapons bay to launch? 5. From the conclusion of this mission, would it be correct to infer that the F-22 will be good in incursions over hostile territory? But in the case it has to intercept, it will have to give away its position by turning on radar? Would that allow hostile missiles to lock onto it from range?

  • @jacobdewey2053

Ground radar can see the F-22 but there's a difference between being able to see something and getting a lock for a firing solution. The ground-based radars couldn't get a lock and so couldn't fire

I wonder if higher tech enemies with datalink splitting up like that at the beginning of the video could be a tactic now or in the future to create a kind of makeshift multipoint phased array radar to attempt to get a higher resolution picture of where a stealth plane might be, perhaps enough for a firing solution. I don't know if the link speed and computing power of current fighters could touch on that, but I'm sure it's an idea that's been tested

I don't know about any of this, but how come no one has created a rear firing defensive missile yet? Seems if you're pretty much a sitting duck if someone's on your tail it'd make sense to have something like that 🤷🏻‍♂️

That has been looked at but it makes more sense to use a missile that fires conventionally but can turn up to 180 degrees after launch to engage threats that are behind.
