yeah i almost automatically heard minimum speed cuz that thing burned into my brain. only when he confirmed like maximum speed i was like ma dog did it hahahahaha

I can't wait for the Eurofighter module to finally come out. I don't even play DCS myself, I just want to see you fly the full fledged Eurofighter for 2 weeks straight once it's released :)

Not sure the Eurofighter even has a gun, but assuming it does there's a part of me that's a bit sad you didn't 'light him up' at the end there. Like the old days, Spitfire vs Heinkel 111. There's got to be some bragging rights about a gun kill in a modern engagement, even if in this sort of instance it's just argument over hammer, mallet, or club for the coup de grace

And Growling Sidewinder nonchalantly splashes half the Russian 5th gen air force in a single engagement. That meteor is a beast.

You hear about how pilots can sometimes get confused which way is up or down when they look out the cockpit and I always understood to some degree how that can be if your equipment is malfunctioning, but seeing 1:36 - 1:45 reallyyy gave me a much better idea or just how confusing it can be. Just watching even I got turned upside down for a second on how similar above and below looks with those types of clouds. It’s kinda crazy

You never understand it fully until you yourself get disoriented in the clouds and even with the help of the instrument it gets scary, i only flight sim so i can only imagine how much more scary its for real pilots.

That’s why we look at the artificial horizon instrument in front of us rather than look outside.

What a wicked mission. Especially after getting back from London, after seeing the RAF museum. They have a Meteor, ASRAAM, and Typhoon on display. The amount of ordinance from history that’s on display was fantastic.

I'd love to see a video of trying to intercept the venerable SR-71 Blackbird with the best technology 2023 has to offer. Does an updated MiG-31 with R-37s even stand a chance at Mach 3+ and climbing through angels 80? Modernised F-14 with AMRAAM-D3s, AMRAAM-ERs, or speculative AIM-260s?

@@parz1valL17 lol the fasted mig is 500kmh slower and is limited to a lower altitude, factor in scramble times and the fact it could no way see it in the radar there is no way a mig could Intercept a blackbird

For the sake of accomplishing the mission (intercepting the Tu-22) I would have first sent one or two Meteors to the bomber, as soon as there was a chance. The longer one tangles with the escort the higher is the chance of getting shot down while the bomber flies happily along towards it's target.

its a purely cinematic video.. usually the TU-22 would be 4 times higher and 4 times faster... after engaging the first opponent, the bomber would be 300 km away already

Not realy, cuzz Su-35S and Su-57 have R-37M, which is much, much better then Meteor.

The first Fellon kill was a real fire and forget moment!

Eurofighter coming through those clouds after completely destroying those escorts towards that poor bomber that's so badass, like a shark chasing a wounded seal.

Made possible by the Meteors AND the massive speed of the Typhoon to defend

Odd idea, that you could intercept a TU-22M like that. They will either be ciring cruise missiles (with 5+ times the range of a meteor) and to be able to intercept them, you would have to fly deep into Russian anti air zone, since the will not leave that area, not even get close to the borders. Or IF they would fly a bombing mission, they would monitor the sky and air fields and for sure not wait until you are in firing range.

Completely agree. What I find odd even though GS had the upper hand with the magnificent metors, is that surely not all the russian fighter pilots are incapable of defence/attack. I mean, what's it take to actually fly any one of these killing machines? Still, great video and GS must be classed as an ACE by now!?

Surprised here- the answer for the Flankers AND the Felon would have been to throw R-37 Hypersonic missiles your way, at least a couple, in response to your Meteors hitting them and them realizing that they'd being engaged at extreme range - it's not like the Russians don't have similarly ranged missiles. ...Without that, yeah, it'd be up to the Felons to sneak up on you, maybe doing that infrared IRST low altitude mountain sneak attack stuff with volleys of R 77s waiting- but the Hypersonics should have made an appearance!

The first Su-57 crash was sublime. DCS can do a lot of things beautifully but that crash was art.

GS can never do too many typhoon videos. Nice to see one just dominate like this. But where did all the TU-22 parts go at the end??

Would love to see the F-18 v Eurofighter in a Fox 2 only fight. They seem closely matched. Can you make it happen GS?!?

I notice in DCS that Meteor missiles (or "Meteour missiles", they are European after all :D ) have a far easier time locking on to the Su-57s than AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles do. I've seen so many of these playthroughs where AMRAAMs just lose lock, can't lock, can't hit their plate with a fork and can't find their way to the bathroom when trying to hit an Su-57. But Meteor missiles usually lock on easily and rarely miss. Not sure what's up with that but honestly I'd want whatever I'm flying in DCS to be able to equip and use Meteors over AMRAAMs. The standoff capability plus the apparent ease of taking out Su-57s make it the go-to missile for anything. Anyone do a scenario where NATO takes on Chinese aircraft using Meteor missiles yet? I know that scenario isn't as likely but it would be interesting to see.

Yaaaass! This is the content I love, GS showing the Typhoon some love against impressive odds! I was cheering for a final gun kill on the bomber but i'll take the disintegration, so satisfying, the bounty hunter of the skies!! 😄 One question though, why does the German Typhoon have an American female computer voice? 😆

Aviation language is English. German fighter pilots, like every other, are trained in English, so this doesn't matter. In fact in reality, the Typhoon Audio Management System in every operating nation uses the same female voice with a subtle British accent.

Next hey this place is not normal oh I see I'm dead......! Hahahahaha great job GS.

@@jackalope8568 The bomber may not be a threat to GS but if it was carrying cruise missiles or bombs it would be a threat to its intended target so I would also try for the bomber first. Plus ... if the bomber was removed from the picture the fighters would have nothing to protect so they just might bug out.

In a real bomber intercept, that would be the way to go. I think GS simply wanted to make the video more interesting by fighting the escort first.

Cost of explosives is very minor compared to everything else in the missile so there is not much sense to remove it. There are decoy decoy cruise and balistic missiles but it's whole other topic

Nice mission. And GS didn’t play with his food. I’m surprised about that, particularly at the end with that bomber all alone and defenseless. It almost makes you wonder why bombers don’t carry defensive ordinance of their own for situations just like that one.

The meteor is made by MBDA so it's British, French and Italian at the same time.

The image that comes to my mind: an adult holding back children by holding their heads in hands with arms extended, while children are flailing their short arms to no avail....

Those Meteor missles are deadly. Maybe the U.S. should start using them.

Last video with ef2000 against su57 was just scarry impresive, Meteor missle its deadly accurate, this video just confirm once more how good it îs. You should try F15 with meteor against 4 su57. See how this will work.

This is DCS not real life, DCS has a unfinished version of the Metor which basically makes it OP as hell

If you were going max speed (so like, 1.8 Mach or so), how come we didn't hear the sonic boom on the outside tracking shots?
