This was actually considered once. Before the F-35, Lockheed made a concept for a Naval variant of the Raptor called the F-22N. It came equipped with a hook for the catapult, and a swept-wing design like the tomcat for to reduce as much speed as possible for landing on the carrier. But, it sacrificed agility. So, they didn’t make it.

I thought when landing on a carrier you needed to keep the throttle to the max, in case the wires that are supposed to slow you down and make you stop happen to fail and you have to take off again
