@@truthseeker9454 I took the hit in between the nosegear and the intakes. I lost the ability to use afterburner, but all of my electronics still worked, so I took a gamble and pulled a cobra.

@@Strigon008 Yeah, I saw that. You did a great job! I was just joking about the fact the damage model in DCS took off your nose wheel (with the door closed) but you could fly well enough to splash LongShot (to his great surprise!). 😄

that was so cool. it would be awesome if that can be shown throughout the fight, maybe in a small window, especially when LS gets close.

Really liked the terrain overlay. It makes your tactics easier to follow when we can see your position in comparison to your adversaries.

Yes quite agree and refreshing to see … Some online squads such as I/JG7 Nowotny Official are ridiculous … If we take their kill ratio to zero losses in their online content the Luffwaffe would have won WW2 singlehanded !

This was one of my favorite videos you have done! Cool to hear him talking after. I always wonder what they are thinking.

This was Epic to see- and to see Tac View, to see the SNEAKY action*(I see his comment below, i dont understand how his AWACs didnt give you away- also, was SO worried for you since you were seeing AWACS pings on RWR, you needed to gank the AWACs. Your vision is superb, you visually spotted him and i couldnt see him lol Finally, hearing the chat at the end was EPIC- as was the landing. Top notch fighting Longshot- and props to Strigon for a excellent fight!

Great new editing tricks and a fantastic ending.

I really appreciated the Tacview highlights included to show the proximity of the two jets when you were doing your not so sneaky maneuvers. All in all an excellent mission despite the less than desirable outcome!

Great videos. Once again, I had to watch them on my other account after I got back from Texas. I’ve got a question for you. Is the R2-D2 model for the F14 still out there and usable? I would need a few days to fly the Typhoon. I don't usually fly European birds due to my obsession of the Raptor, Mudhen, Tomcat and Su-33.

No, sir. My hydraulics suffered and I lost the ability to use afterburner. Once you lose hydraulics in the Flanker, you have about 30-45 seconds to either land or punch out. Otherwise, everything in the Flanker stops responding.

I am not a huge fan of dog fights, but this one was awesome. I was on the edge of seat.

@@LongShotChannel The running through the mountains to avoid missiles, getting to edge or within the MAR, and the sneaking up on the SU33. That map was a cool touch too. Usually dogfights are flying in circles to the point I get nauseated. Most of the BVR fights are fun to watch, especially when you're way outnumbered. Throw in taking out an AWACS or some ground targets and I usually watch it more than once.

Dude ! That was crazy wild flanker hunting ! You were robbed of that kill. Still, all and all, the top of my list of learning tactics by skimming the ground, terrain masking and trusting your gut instincts in this face-off. That first defensive maneuver toward the ground, how fast were you going at near ground level ? Mach 1.5 ? You were sooo fast ! Poor Viper.....

10 lbs. Pay attention to where the explosion was. Underneath the aircraft between the nose gear and intakes. That was literally pure luck. The hit killed my hydraulics. Had I stayed in the air any longer, the controls would cease to function.

Depending on where you get hit, you can take a FOX 2. F-14, both Sukhois, A-10 and some other aircraft can take a hit, but afterwards, you're done for. That FOX 2 hit was probably by the intakes. My electronics were fine, but I lost the ability to use afterburner.

FULL BS on the damage model there.

Sukhois are very durable. That missile hit killed the Flanker's ability to use AB.

@@jeremygair4007 I was the one flying. I lost my ability to use afterburner, hydraulics were mostly dead. It was pure luck I survived. Depending on where you take the hit, in the 27/33, you can still fly. GS had that happen to him when he fought the Su-35 in his F-16. If you are lucky you can take a Fox 2, but you are severely screwed after. I took an R-60 in the rear in a F-14B. Lost an engine, 1 rudder, hydraulics out and Jester died. Still flew home.

@@jeremygair4007 Critical areas of the Flankers are made of steel, with the rest of of the frame being titanium and aluminum alloys. To quote Mihaly Shilage: "He took the hit in a non-critical area." My electronics still work, which implies I wasn't hit in the nose. I never saw the missile launched, but if I had to guess, the missile hit me just past the cockpit and somewhere near my intakes.
