I remember a UK Tornado went down in the 90s, some guy I knew came up to tell us the pilots... well pilot & navigator 'Both Pilots Ejaculated!' I responded with, "I bet they did!" :)

Is it a negative trend in safety or a positive trend in how many of these reports reach the public?

It is always reported ! some peoples kids,,, Now if the public pays attention or not -- There have been over 2200 F-16s in the Airforce etc., The Airforce like other branches of the US military wants our troops to be as well trained and prepared as possible that requires lots of training and in this case flight time and hard training , chit happens ..

Hey did they ever come out with the final report on the F-35 (east coast) where the pilot ejected and the jet impacted 80 miles away? Bad weather and low level were factors but DOD/Marines have said very very little.

That is a very outdated term that really does not apply. The Falcon had engine failures decades ago(P&W F100) and they could literally glide to a landing unlike anything before. That's not a problem anymore hasn't been for a very long time.

@@JSFGuy There was an issue with wire bundles chafing and shorting out in flight, leading to loss of control and at least one death. Lawn dart was a common term used for F-16 back in the 80s.

Does the checklist tell you to eject or is that a judgement call?

In some cases it's on the checklist. There was a case not too long ago when a fighter had an engine fire and was trying to get back to base, but the checklist clearly indicated that he was supposed to eject in that situation. That case is now used in training for what not to do.

Wasn't there a rash of mishaps in the late 80s early 90s before Gulf War part 1? Is this precursor of things to come?

It goes without saying things are going to pop off in East Asia. Just exactly when is still unknown. A year, three, maybe five. It's going to happen, that's for sure.

I assume that when a viper crashes they need hazmat because of the hydrazine fuel cell?

One of the most dangerous things I’ve seen are pilots who have mediocre to subpar skills but think they are sh*t hot. After that you have commanders unwilling to sit people down “might hurt their career” or commanders who won’t say “no” to bs tastings when their people are burnt out and hurting.

The vast majority of the aid is actually being spent in the United States. The US Armed Forces are acquiring new equipment for its own use and shipping older models of to Ukraine. For example, the Bradley IFV, US Army is shipping their older models of the Bradley and buying newer more potent and better protected Bradleys for the US Army. Why not blame accidents on funding sent to Israel or Taiwan? These countries are getting funding as well.
