Truth is, we don't fight enemies with similar fire power. Maverick took 20 years to get his 5th kill and the Raptor platform's first kill was a balloon. But I have a feeling all that is about to change very soon. Bless our troops!

Hundreds of people turn up everyday to watch these bad boys training out of RAF Lakenheath (LN). They put on a great show. Awesome site.

It may not have the curves of a Russian fighter jet, but I find the F15 to be one of the best looking fighters ever made.

Always a special treat to get to see one of these at my base!

I loved playing F-15 Strike Eagle II in the 90s Back then the gameplay looked realistic 😀 and it had an impressive manual.

I played it on the Atari 800. Didn't look very real from what I remember and it was really slow. F-16 Falcon for my Amiga 500 was a lot better imo.

It looks to me like the F15 has developed into a medium bomber. Some people call it a fighter-bomber but it looks more like a medium bomber to me.

It holds around 800 rounds for it's autocannon

Great dog fighter, great strike aircraft. If they could've made a carrier variant, whoo boy.

The F-16 is a multirole fighter. The F-15E is an air superiority fighter with extra gizmos stuck in it to blow stuff up on the ground.

Makes sense to use the 2 seat versions for drone, attack and EW missions.

The F16 is multi-role. The F-15 has been kept around because they couldn't and won't produce enough F-35s to replace them and the F-16s. Not only that, but the F-15 is able to do a few things better than the F-35, mainly go faster, further and carry more weapons. It is a svelte workhorse.

It's a completely awesome plane. The bureacrats at the Pentagon will probably find a reason to get rid of it.

Err did that guy at the beginning do a dab? I think the military is screwed.

I always thought the f15 ex to do the heavy lifting the f 35 and f22 as advanced air craft would be a great plan of attack solution but I would not expect this administration to think this way.

You need both. You see this argument along with A-10 being replaced by it which is very erroneous . They are different tools for different tasks. The F-35 becomes redundant and inefficient once air defenses are weakened. The F-15EXs act as distant launchers and ground support as in a realistic situation, the F-35 can’t carry drop tanks or missiles externally while going over hundreds of miles of heavily defended airspace or it risks detection. We don’t have stealth tankers yet so making tanker tracks is a no go until the enemy gets its numbers thinned and pushed back. The F-15EX has the benefit of range and can carry larger stand off missiles which migrate the benefit of stealth. It will double as a one man AWACS with its new radar. The F-22 can carry a better payload and is better against fighters but no more will be built and they a resource heavy. You need a billion just to field 5 up to date F-22s. The NGAD won’t be any cheaper. Until we get the NGAD, you don’t have many options.

The F15 strike eagle is the F111 that the US airforce has been missing a fighter and bomber at the same time with F35 the breaking the enemy lines to open up to release a can of hell by releasing the F15 so bring on the F15 FX

Missing? The Strike variant has been in service for about 40 years.

This green bean called it the Boeing F-15... If you're going to do a documentary you should know the intricate details of your subject... It's the McDonnell Douglas F-15... Not Boeing...

It was originally designed and built by McDonnell Douglas, yes. However, MD was purchased by Boeing and went defunct in 1997 and all Strike Eagles since have been produced by Boeing's defense division.

All that gear and still cowards. Sad.
