    Magic got a scholarship to play football for legendary coach Bobby Bowden at Florida State. His dedication and leadership was acknowledged when the undersized offensive lineman became the team captain. After graduating with a bachelor of science degree, he had a 2 year stint in the NFL but decided to give acting a shot. Now he's a best-selling author, an advocate for victims of domestic violence and gives speeches at schools, shelters, prisons, medical facilities...etc, to spread awareness. He's also a multi-millionair

    Federico Gonzales Montana was stabbed to death outside his cell by a member of the B.G.A. Believing that the Aryans sent forged orders to the hitman but they never did. Later in this scene, we now find out that Miklo and Magic had Montana killed. The whole thing was staged and they put an act on everyone else. Miklo and Magic wanted Montana dead because he liked La Onda the way it is and he didn’t want La Onda to go to war with the B.G.A. and the Aryan Vanguards. Montana wanted the money more than the power. Miklo and Magic thought that Montana was becoming weak or soft, that he was killing La Onda, and that if they did not do something fast, La Onda would die, and they would no longer have any power in prison. Montana was trying to go straight, he was trying to clean up his life and trying to make right on past mistakes. He realized that gangs and violence only lead to the very life that he was trapped in, his life in prison. Miklo then made magic make a mold of Bonafieds comb and when he says, I kept this for protection, from you... so if anything happened between Miklo and Magic, that Magic would have something against Miklo. It never actually shows either of them making the mold and counterfeiting the comb. But Magic worked with Bonafied in the woodshop, and Magic is the one who stole it from Bonafied. After taking out the B.G.A. And the Aryans, all that was left to do was to destroy the evidence of the mold from the comb they had made, and Miklo takes over leadership of the most powerful prison gang. The mold was used to send the forged orders to the B.G.A. hit man to kill Montana.

    “I give my life to you.” Such powerful words. It’s like a knight taking an oath of a sworn brotherhood to protect their king. I honestly don’t know if women understand the power in those words. Not trying to be sexist at all, but in a man’s world, devoting your life to another individual is the ultimate statement of loyalty and honor. It’s also powerful in the sense that Magic is somewhat switching his allegiance from La Onda to Miklo. Although he does it because he believes Miklo is the best leader for La Onda and Miklo will always do what’s best for La Onda. He’s basically saying that he has ultimate trust that whatever Miklo says is best for La Onda is what’s best for La Onda.

    They had to put the hit on Montana. The man had great intentions for both factions. He was more enamored with the idea of blacks and browns being one than the reality of of what that meant for Onda. He had to go, he had an old timers mindset that did not evolve and remain open minded to the extremes changes that demanded extreme measures. Miklo was a visionary prophet of sorts, not only would he save la onda with Magic but ensure its posterity. He was able to foresee the repercussions and consequences of their choices. Truly a mastermind. Will you sand with me? It's such a deep question because it's so multilayered with branches. In spite of what will happen and regardless of what I can see, but are you willing for grow through this odyssey we are about to embark on? Talk about hell or high water, considering Magics relationship with Montana stemmed way longer than with Miklo, he was so open minded that he bent to the side of reason and was willing to set aside his feelings in the pursuit of ensuring the quality of Onda's long term survival. Masterpiece.

    What we need to understand is that Miklo is the author of his own destiny. A lot of people wanna blame Paco for the events that started everything. Paco merely started everyone on a path, but where each of them ended was completely because of the decisions they made. For Miklo, he did make a decision that it is better to be an Emperor in Prison, than to be a slave in the free world. He became so determined to consolidate power, he authored the murder of his surrogate father. The free world had nothing for him. Despite of his best efforts, it would not even accept him. In prison he earned respect and power.

    I seriously think magic had Montana killed without orders from Miklo. He knew with Montana out of the picture Miklo can steer la onda back on track. Montana was gettin old and wanted to start writing books about prison life and gangs and didn't put his efforts into keeping the gang in order. Once Magic got Montana killed he knew that Miklo would become new leader like Miklo wanted. I genuinely think this is the first time Miklo finds out about the comb and what magic has done. But it was for La onda. Once Miklo tell magic that he was his other half his family basically, magic knew he needed to gain Miklos trust to. If he would ever find out any other way he might get killed. By him saying 'you ordered me to destroy this mold' but I kept it means that if anyone was listening that he was still safe if Miklo tried to retaliate. But they 'both' did it as a team so magic can get his trust back. That's why he was so emotional because he could get killed. But Miklo didn't kill him because it was the right thing to do. He just didn't want to be the one to do it. Now that it's all done. They both have each other trust again

  • @bennylevine387

    There is no indication of that in the story and it would be a bizarre twist, since it was Miklo who started pissing in Magic's ears about Montana to begin with. After telling him he's the other half of his corazon, why would Magic feel he needs to gain trust at that moment after Miklo just expressed his trust? It's pretty clear that Magic was just purging his last reservations about Miklo, by destroying an incriminating thing they both knew about. It was the final boundary before allowing complete brotherhood to reign. Why would they sully this moment with some bizarre unseen subtext of Miklo not being in on the hit. The comb mold is such a convoluted plot anyway, how would Miklo have immediately recognized what the F that was even about if he had not known? You think in that few second gap there that Miklo was able to break that down AND reflect on his love for Montana?

  • @BSTXOC

    Belittled by his own blood, and unwanted for being half guero by the most powerful Chicano gang in prison...and eventually becomes its JEFE! Awesome! I actually met Damian Chapa at a SpanishTV station when he was promoting a B movie about 11 years after BIBO. He is taller in real life than what I imagined. I guess he looked shorter in the movie playing his part alongside taller actors.

Lol I did 10 years in prison! Getting some when u get out is pretty much the 1st thing everybody is going to do. Poor milkweed was apparently a virgin according to this movie!lol

    FuckOuttaHere Your balls haven't dropped. True, the movie portrays a sexual theme, such as men-to-men desire and what not, but if you have this mind thinking like this for every scene of the movie, then you are too young to see this movie. I saw this at 20 and the first gay scene "dame to chon chon" didn't had me in thoughts of homosexuality. I was like, meh, back with the story.

  • @Zer0thehero117

    @Zer0thehero117

    6 жыл бұрын

    Austin Mason if you look at the mold (you can see a comb print) it was used as a blueprint to create a replica of the BGA leader's comb which wasn't just any comb it was made of wood and it had the BGA's leader custom design on it. when the bga leader puts out a hit on someone he sends his custom comb so the BGA's assassin knows the hit is legit, if you remember the scene where the assassin kills Montana he destroys the comb and the message with the order of the hit, flushing it in the toilet. but it wasn't legit the BGA leader didn't order that hit on Montana. magic and miklo did, they made a blueprint and a replica of the BGA's leader comb from the mold so they can make a fake hit on Montana and justify and motivate la onda to take out the BGA leaders, even if they did have a peace agreement or alliance, the bga were still potential competition/ rivals. miklo and magic took out Montana because they thought he was unfit to lead la onda or keep it alive and prosperous as miklo did. they couldn't over throw or replace Montana without the risk of dividing la onda. so framing the BGA's was there way of avoiding the division and at the same time also taking out competition and possible rivalry with the BGA's

    Great Dragon he means that he could use it to rat out miklo for being behind the Montana hit, which would potentially turn other onda members against him. This is a good example of what the Bible says in Jeremías 17:5... : "Así dice el SEÑOR: Maldito el hombre que en el hombre confía, y hace de la carne su fortaleza, y del SEÑOR se aparta su corazón"(Biblia). This one play in this movie is detrimental to the wellbeing of la Raza. Many folk in the outter rim of the Chicano life. THIS IS WHAT GIVES DACA A BAD NAME. THIS IS, WHAT GIVES EL CINCO DE MAYO A BAD REPUTATION. We are not all traitors. And, we do not all live in la pinta. For all you chamacos watching this movie, yous best pay really close attention to what is being said, and evaluate your own ups and downs before passing judgement. Love is not getting along with each other for power's sake. It is seeking Truth. Read your Bibles. College is a good way to start. DO IT!
