We had -25 degree temps with -60 degree wind chills in South Dakota. I prayed hard for all of our ranchers... that was some BRUTAL cold!

-43 wind chill in Southern Iowa. Took us 3 days to dig out. Hit the store and grabbed a few things cuz...Yup, git another 5-6 inches and super windy. Another 3 day dig out. Tomorrow got to hit the store again while we can cuz Yup, suppose to snow again. Only let my dogs out for 10-15 minutes at a time. Layers and layers of warm winter clothing and still froze in that short of time.

It was brutal. We're in south central SD.

I love how you make sure to take time to enjoy the snow with your kids! It’s not just work, work, work, work. Something I need to learn to do more often!

I love it when Zack stops his chores to pick up and cuddle a random chicken and then…back to work!

I LOVE being a KENTUCKIAN, OUR MOUNTAINS ARE BEAUTIFUL.

My water has been frozen since Saturday and my furnace quit yesterday. It's 37° in my house. The toilet is being an outhouse inhouse 💩 I'm sure you'll do better than me 😉

Oh no. I’m so sorry.

We already have the storm and thankful that all our animals are doing good thanks to all our pre storm prep.

We've been experiencing single digit real feel temps since Saturday night. We were ready for the cold, all pipes covered and prepped, lots of extra bedding in our tiny coop and extra blankets laid out as beds all over the house for the cats. Unfortunately, our municipality was not as prepared. Water is down but not totally out. We made sure we had enpugh drinking water to last 10 days, so we're sitting pretty. Power hasn't gone out but we're prepared for that as well. Hope everyone is faring well and i will continue to pray we all make it out of this alive!

Thank you for being you - you and Jen are always just consistently real! Thanks to Wyatt and Ray-ray for taking me on those sled trips (at my age I wouldn't ever try to do it, but it was fun to be taken along from the safety of my armchair 😉)

Living in the North we always have backup plans because the weather is unpredictable! In the last week we have had the power go out once and go down partially once and a water main broke as well! We burn wood as well as propane! And always have water as well still have availability to our well in the garden! I to feel terrible when I hear about people freezing or being overcome by fumes from generators! Praying we all start being prepared for all kinds of situations! Just went thru -42 windchill and snow and no power for 15 hours. Woodstove and lamps. Had extra water run off.We did good.

We got a foot of snow in Michigan Tuesday and Friday last week. With the wind chill it's the negatives. 10 degrees for the high wind dropped it to negative 7.

Awww thanks! I knew I was a magician 😂 The family kept telling me I was. See, everything comes out different depending on your "variables" as you were saying. After I figured all of my own variables out... I finally nailed baking AND cooking. And for those people that get all bent out of shape about weighing everything or making things an exact science, and swear that it turns out the same every single run, good for them. Sometimes it works like that and sometimes it won't , that's fine, but at the end of the day you'll still have variables when going by one of those exact recipes, too! All you need is a baseline to work with whether you get it from a home kitchen mountain Mama with experience in falling gracefully... or if you get your information from a commercial test Kitchen 🩷
