Did anyone really realize the magnitude of talent in Extreme? I also maintain that Nuno is possibly one of the most technically exquisite musicians of many years.

@@jcmcgough Same here. Love Nuno as a bass player. He grooves, his fillers kill while never really overpowering the song itself (as van halen's sometimes do) and the melodic content in his solo. YUM! Also Pat Padger is no slouch on the bass. He is playing his 8th note role here, but on Cupid's dead, he matches Nuno note for note.

If there was any justice in the world, III Sides To Every Story would be widely regarded as one of the classic albums of all time. This album should have propelled Extreme into the stratosphere, and the fact it didn't just shows what a state popular music has become in the last 20 or so years. But for me, this album showed Extreme at the very peak of the powers, unleashing a classic album onto the world, that sadly wasn't recognised at the time for it's greatness like it should have been. :(

+Angelic Storm Agree. It was just so amazing. From the 'heavy' beginning of the record to the orchestra laden ending -- it was just so fantastic on every level. Rhythm section, vocals, harmonies, and Nuno's amazing guitar work -- all in top form.

+Angelic Storm Their best album I agree! We have to look at Extreme, though, because they never got the respect or following they deserved to have. They had one huge hit in "More Than Words" and then they followed that album up with this absolute masterpiece and it sunk into the bargain section. I don't think people knew how much irony and also full out truth there is in the lyrics, how Nuno's playing is unique and not copying anyone, how the harmonies were inspired by Queen with a lead voice inspired by soul. They came and were not here long enough. Music went terrible in the last 20 years and there are a lot of things to blame. It was gonna come. The end was gonna happen and the ceiling was gonna cave in eventually, but that is horrible and not anything I like to dwell upon. I want to find some musicians who can help me record my ideas. I've sung for the past 13 years and studied guitar heavily for 23. Everyone hated me for loving this album. Cynical and stupid world ain't it?

I push myself to do things like when I was a lot younger than now, but it can't be like that anymore. I first heard this album when I was 18 I think. I was blown away by it. I love their music they write great melodies and songs. Your comment really picked me up in a big way and a huge thanks!

Sounds like a 30 year old smack to virtue signalers and SJWs of today that intend to create more chaos than peace. At the time I think it was a resignation that war does suck but it's necessary to thwart despots and dictators...appeasement makes the bullies stronger. Rest in Peace is definitely a clever turn of phrase from what everyone thought was just a funky hair band lol.

Started listening to Extreme at 15. I just listened to all their albums 25 yrs later and I just realized their music had quality compared to most hair bands of the late 80's and early 90's. My 40 yr old ears can certainly hear some influences of Bowie, Queen, Led Zep in their songs. What amazes me more is they've managed to stay together and are still actually creating more songs. That's real talent and true test of character there.😊😊

When I listened to this album for the first time, I was just in shock. These frenzied riffs, rhythmic and melodic moves, such an incredible and at the same time underrated album!!!

Still the case thirty years after its release. The whole "Three Sides..." album stood the test of time and remains a criminally underrated piece of work.

Not only a great song - But a great song with heart, soul, and meaning. Think how true those words can still ring today. As a long time fan of Chicago ( The Terry Kath Era ) they also wrote music with meaning about love, peace, and caring for the Earth as a whole. They did so in some very rough times of the late 60's and early 70's. This song to me parallels that same spirit in many ways. It kicks ass as a rock song. Great band. "Hole Hearted" - another fabulous song !!!! Extreme - God bless for what U gave to the music world. Peace my brothers. Note: One of the best videos ever !!!

I'll never forget watching MTVs most wanted in the early 90s, waiting for the premiere of this very video. Extreme was my #1 favorite band at the time and looking back, I still love the video and the song. It was so unique and stood out from the rest of the videos at the time which were trending towards grunge.

Very well said! Probably my favorite solo by Nuno. The follow up album, 95s Waiting for the Punchline is also so underrated. Times changed in the 90s, and Extreme unfortunately had to try and get away from their biggest hit "More than Words" and with the shift change of the industry it was impossible. Saw Extreme live at House of Blues 2015, best concert I've ever seen!!

This is the song that got my then 4 year old son into Extreme, he wanted me to play this song in my car FIRST THING or he wouldn't be quiet until I did so! He mainly and unfortunately listens to metalcore now, but still has that soft spot for old school rock and metal....thankfully!

If you are moved by EXTREME'S music like I am, then WE have an EXTREME responsibility! If an EXTREME video has less than a million hits, it's nobody's fault bit ours. It's not like the band is going to sit around and watch it a million times! Everyone who likes this great video and the amazing music of EXTREME, tell two friends. Those two friends will thank you, be EXTREME fans for life, and EXTREME will get the message that they are appreciated. Bands that are appreciated keep making music!
