I watch replays every week. I’m debt free except for my mortgage. I was just a few months away from my three month of income emergency fund when A/C went out. Add another few months to that. This is what happens each time I’m close to funding it. First time I got laid off, next few times were major car repairs. Good news is I didn’t go in debt for any of those set backs.
LOVED the show❤ And just one true story .... I lived in a home for over 5 years with NO. INSIDE WALLS.... My Church came in and spent over 75 thousand to put it together in 1 week..... That was 2014 and all is still working and complete... There were about 100 people working putting in walls, closets, floors and everything except windows and furnace ... I had no kitchen except 2 saw horses AND a piece of plywood that held a microwave and coffee pot... Pure blessings and it is definitely true !!!❤ I LOVE MY CHURCH and Ramsey.... ( I am currently in baby step 2🎉🎉🎉)
I was listening to this on the podcast, but I had to come and watch it on KZread just for this picture of George 😂
Such a missed opportunity to say Kamel-flage instead of camouflage when talking about the sad brown cardigan
You should do an episode of first dates for example the expenses extreme dates to simple inexpensive dates with some facts and statistics over the previous generations to todays.
The debt free scream story George shared gave me chills!!! So cool… how he related to so much of it. Immigrants… son around same age as George… & the surprise that they paid off their kids house. Chills. How inspiring!!! Also $900k of debt paid off!!! 💥. Side note- Rachel is so dramatic to be a middle child!!! My husband is the middle son & he’s the most non-drama.

I do think paying off 900K of debt isn’t specific enough to get an idea of how good or bad someone’s situation was. If you finance a 1.5 million dollar four-plex investment property and put 33% down, that’s a million dollars of debt. But if that home generates cashflow from day one, that’s much better of a situation than some couple with 200k in studies loan debt, 200k in credit card debt, 150K in vehicle debt and and 350k in debt for their single family house. Even though that’s 100K less of debt, their composition of debt is much more problematic and plagued with high interest rates. The home and student loans might produce a decent ROI. The car and credit cards is almost certainly a major issue.
A margarita was killed in the making of this show. XD Such a fun time being there!!!
I was in the audience, such a great weekend!!!!!!
George, Rachel, Jade, Dave, John all of you inspire hope and belief that being debt free is possible and anyone can build wealth. I want to thank all you for inspiring callers everyday.
I eventually stopped watching "Trading Spaces." The designers were sometimes cruel to people. Remember the episode when they glued plates and glasses to the ceiling??? Remember when they redecorated the kitchen and only put 4 chairs, but they knew it was a family of 6? One of the designers, would always remove ceiling fans for being, "tacky." Some of their designers were just snobs and they were often condescending and they didn't actually care about the lives of the people who lived there. I just realized that it wasn't fun. Just mean-spirited.

I hated Hildi's designs. She had no taste in style.
George's "Dang It, Bobby" was my favorite part ever.
My husband and I paid off my student loans in just under two years and it is so freeing! We were only able to do that because of God and His faithfulness!
Glad someone is talking about how in extreme home makeover the home is done in “7 days”
A dating game or show would be great! Rachel should host. I would watch it!
I love this theme.
Hi Rachel and George! I love SMHH ❤️ I was able to attend this episode and now I'm wondering how many bloopers you edit out of other episodes! I love the oops moments and the laugh so hard I'm about to pee my pants exchanges. Hopefully most of them stay in the final cut!
Technically if you are Ramsey and not Ramseyish. Then you are always on the baby steps, just on 4-6 and 7 after the season of gazelle intensity!

hang in there on paying off your debt! I am still working on paying down debt. I love this show.
Good morning!!!☀️
I loved the show What Not to Wear!
I am Ramsey-ish. Zero regrets paying off my car before my 2.25% student loan. Increasing my retirement savings to 25% before paying off my mortgage. And, not investing in international or small cap (that he calls growth)
Wow, wish I could have been there. This looked super fun. Just one thing to add as a former runner (need to get back into it), the best runners run towards a goal or speed not away from things ;)
Good morning Ramseyites!~
I listened to this and thought of another show that wasn't mentioned. Clean Sweep, they pulled all the junk out of a room and put it in the yard for sorting. It's like looking at all your debt and realizing what the numbers actually are, a big reality check. They sold off stuff at a yard sale to make money to makeover the room that used to be a mess, so it's like have a yard sale to pay off debt to make your life better. I wish they would bring this show back :)
I immediately knew what she meant by Stacey and Clinton 😂😂 does that make me old? 😅
Ty Pennington redid a dance studio in Roanoke VA. He used contractors and students from the Construction program at Virginia Tech. My son worked on this project. They worked night and day.
Rachel you should have stuck it out on your running adventure! It's A-okay to walk for a bit! It's progress! Ya'll joking about runners- I get it and laugh too. The thing about running is personal accomplishment. You did something you didn't want or think you could do- no matter how poorly you perceive this big accomplishment! After building up to 3 miles- you feel amazing after you're done! Even tho you dreaded starting, and the initial part feels hard.
Haha I’m so glad George knows about KING CURTIS 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Lindsey! So good to have you back, we missed you girl! Nothing at all against Mackenzie, she's been absolutely brilliant ❤ xx
To whoever put the headings on the time markers… bravo! 😂
Regarding the Extreme Makeover houses being completed within 7 days, I can attest that is true. There was one in our neighborhood 20 years ago (Wofford family, season 2 episode 1). Once the family was sent off, the little track house was demolished, and a much larger house was built before the family returned a week later. Large crews of volunteers worked around the clock, utilizing many time-saving techniques, such as quick-day cement and wall and roof framing that was built off-site and brought in at the right time. That house is currently for sale, and I wonder about the structural integrity of the house.
Next time you do this style you should Mic the audience so the listener can hear the laughter, it would add more impact.
King Curtis!!!!
So funny, my fail was running to can’t stand it. I’ll lift weights any day over any cardio.
Im not in debt, I just have nearly no income. 1st thing I did when I heard Ramsey, Stop watching soaps, waisting hours of my time. It pushes me to work faster(self employed) WhenI hear people paying off 90000,I think I could just keep it . Always wanted to buy a house for cash in 2 years, but it never happened. I found my credit record says you have no live accounts. Hopefully in a year I will be untraceable. No body in England would get Why.
George Kamel y’all is singular, y’all’s Is not the plural, it is the possessive. The plural of y’all is all y’all. Lol

Yes! Thank you 😂
15:23 well, CoCo, the only "accessories" I wear are my wristwatch, my wedding ring, and my husband's aunt's engagement ring that she left to me upon her passing. Sorry, not sorry, but I'm not taking one of them off. I do have to admit, though, the two rings are often left on my nightstand, so my watch is my only accessory.
I usually put this on the background and listen. Noticed it sounded different, then realized it was live!
my transformation fail was I wanted to sleep exactly at 10 each night. and lets just say I still dont go to bed until midnight haha
I had a friend ex-wife was on Wife swap with her new husband And I absolutely love change. I do things different things.
No recipe in the show notes?
I am ramzeish paying off high interest credit card before paying off smaller amounts with no interest
❤
@rachelcruze & @georgekamel loved this episode! @georgekamel your hair was snatched!!!
I watch y’all as a fun lighthearted comedy break. (No worries, I learn too.) However, I came here to say something that y’all might get a kick out of. On the advertising for “Smartvestor” that has Dave and George on it, I’ve seen it twice where I thought Dave’s arm was around George’s side. lol It is the way George’s jacket is and the way the text lines with a background on it make the elbow of his sleeve look like a hand. It cracks me up. Please look at it. It just seems like something y’all would think is funny.

Oh I have thought the exact same thing but I did realize that wasn’t really what I was seeing.
I’ve had a trainer the past few months and we both agree: no burpees. Ever. I could use a dating guide though. Seriously. Dating in the modern age is quite something

@@TizBaz5 Makes sense. I used to pass out a ton or at the least get incredibly light headed when I worked out. I still get lightheaded from time to time, but we try to steer clear of the exercises that are more likely to trigger hypotension and we’re good to go now! And I’m not complaining one bit about no burpees in my programs lol
@georgekamel I have a 0.0 bumper sticker! So funny, right!? That comment you made 😅 Btw, I'll see you on the BOAT 🚢

Bible also talks about running your race well. Finishing the race. But. Good story Rachel. Lol Funny joke even though it's tongue in cheek out of context.
In Rachel’s example, why would the woman marry that guy? He’s already proven himself selfish and unwilling to sacrifice anything for her. Heaven forbid she loses her job, gets sick, or becomes disabled….he’ll just dump her.
Most of the people gained all the weight back and more…
George, you need to find a better personal trainer lol. They were NOT a good trainer. Try it again!

This was a very long intro … eating up time I guess because of not so much extreme financial makeover content perhaps?
