My grandfather and I went to a farm in indiana because he knew this guy from church. I met this kid my age at the farm and began to play. We talked about extreme ghostbusters and he brought me over to a red locker that he had in the barn and pulled out this proton pack. I loved it so much that he gave it me. Even though it was basically bare to the bones of no stickers and accessories, it was still super cool and I was so happy to have it. Shout out to that kid for making my childhood even more extreme! I saw GB2 in the theater at 9 with my amazing dad and I'll never forget waking up on Christmas morning to see a proton pack and trap already unboxed and leaned up against the Xmas tree. The foam "noodles" that were meant to represent the beam were cheesy but still awesome. And the ghost trap had the air powered lids that opened when you stomped on the foot switch. Ultimately I'm just so glad new generations of kids are getting into this.

I had the Extreme Ghostbusters proton pack toy when I was a kid during the late 1990s, but I never had the ghost trap. I also had some of the Extreme Ghostbusters action figures and the Ecto-1.

I had both of these as a kid and loved them, but it always bothered me that there was no way to holster the blaster to the pack.

I had the EGB Ecto-1 and a couple of the figures as a kid. I own the Ecto-1 and all of the figures as an adult… And I was today years old learning this existed.

These pieces are also fantastic! 😍 I was going crazy for "The Real Ghostbusters", but at the time I also got hooked on the series "Extreme Ghostbusters"! During the school year 2000/2001 I also received their school diary as a gift! 😁👻🚫

I'm a few years younger than you Jason (born 88) so I feel like I was right in that sweet spot where I caught the tail end of RGB, (I remember buying RGB toys at retail in the early 90's) which ignited my love of Ghostbusters, and when EGB hit in 97 I was exactly the right age to be super stoked about watching the show and playing with all the toys. I had the Ecto and all the action figures, but I never did get any of the roleplay gear, so thanks for posting this so I could finally get an in depth view of what I missed out on lol.

Thanks for showing the trap! I've never even seen one in person, so this is the first time ive seen one in action. I always wanted one as a kid, but never could find it in stores.

I used to watch extreme Ghostbusters all the time this makes me feel so much nostalgia because it made the ghosts scary 'cause usually it'd be like a dull ghost you know and all cute but extreme ghostbusters made it creepy made ghosts creepy so I always loved it for that

I had these as a kid Extreme Ghostbusters was my jam when I was a kid. I eventually gave it to my younger sister not sure what she did with it.

Ugggghhh these are so freakin cool and I’ve always wanted them! Extreme Ghostbusters is so under appreciated. I know some people aren’t a fan of the updated take EGB took with the og equipment designs, but honestly I thought they looked so freakin badass, especially those attachable and detachable canisters for the proton blasters and don’t get me started on how cool the trap is, if me and my best friend got a hold of these as kids we would’ve had the time of our lives.

I asked for this for Xmas. Just like in "Christmas Story" I was disappointed to not get it but then, I was told to look behind the couch for another present.. it wasn't this but rather a 5000 piece Lego set which was way better!

There's a reason why the extreme version of the trap looks the way it does. I think Paul of Spook Central had the promo video for the cartoon series, but when you watch the promo video and Kylie throws out the trap, the design of the trap that was used in the promo matches the treadmasters toy. Much like if you noticed, the original real Ghostbusters proton pack as well as the proton packs on the action figures look way different than they do in the cartoon. If you watch the real Ghostbusters promo video you'll see the proton packs having a different design that actually matches the toys. Chances were, they were still going through the design phase of the characters and the equipment and gave what they had to trendmasters to coincide with the release of the show. That's the reason why they look the way they look.

I was never really that into the Extreme Ghostbusters, I was a Real Ghostbusters Kid!

I feel we need a full size pack!!!

You know. It would be awesome if the new ghostbusters game that comes out this year has some of those Extreme Ghostbusters stuff in the game.

I had the extreme ghostbusters proton pack and trap as a kid. I got it from toys r us. I also bought a separate particle thrower gun because the one that comes with the pack doesn't have lights and sounds, it was a gutted cheaper version of the premium version. On the premium version, the knob on the side was the volume knob and it had all sorts of lights and sounds, the red witch turned it on and a little grey button had it do other things, also the projectile on the top would light up and so would a bunch of colorful lights that was around the rim of the barrel. I still have the toys but they are def all beat up from years of play and neglect, if I knew how expensive these things would have gotten I would have taken better care.

I had the extreme Ghostbusters proton pack and trap. Always wanted the proton gun that came separate as I theorize if you attract that gun to the proton pack, you could access the lights and sounds of the pack without using the lever on the pack

Crazy to think how with the two different cartoon pack toys, it took nearly 33 years before we got a commercially available movie pack.

I've always wondered what the pack and neutrona blaster were like. It's pretty cool. I'd like to make a full size version with more screen accurate lights and sounds. I did make a KG satchel proton gun set. Its pretty cool!

So cool! My cousin had that back then. I offered to take it off his hands for a few bucks! But he ended up selling it in a yard sale for like ten dollars. I was pissed!!

I love my EGB trap. It's pretty nifty!. I got it off eBay some year back. MINT CONDITION. The box was only ever opened once (by me to make sure it was what it was supposed to be). Sadly, the box was damaged while in storage, but the trap and its accessories are still in mint.

Some people weren’t keen with the “hubcap” design of the Ghost trap.

Well sound my siren and call me LOUD!!!!! I'VE TOATS FORGOT ABOUT THIS!!!!!!! I wonder what other versions of the gear did I also miss? I've now know that there's 3 versions of the gear. I might as well order a third pedal car to mod into the extreme ecto-1 as well.

I had both the pack and the trap as a kid and they were both kind of a consolation prize as I never had the Kenner RGB proton pack or trap even though I really wanted them. Never really liked the redesigns of the equipment for Extreme Ghostbusters. Perfect example of trying to fix something that wasn't broken.

any chance you or anyone else know where to get the yellow proton beam tube? got hold of a nearly complete pack with box, but the tube is missing.

Thanks for the video gave me some ideas I can add to cosplay. I did like the first one proton gun not second one gave me ideas since I built my own proton gun out of pvc pipe to add to a current cosplay I have the rocketeer wanted to do a bit of both in one cosplay I’m using for fan expo this weekend.

Pretty cool toys. Although I say Kenner wins in the toyetic department, because they made a series of custom/unique looking role play toys just as they did many unique ghost and equipment designs for the figures. That way kids can let their imaginations run wild.

Being 13 when extreme ghostbusters came out I didn’t really get a lot of the merchandise but I did watch the show while having breakfast before school but I still have my extreme ghostbusters ecto-1 it’s in played with condition it did take me until the Kenner classics line to get the real ghostbusters ecto-1 it took me until the rerelease of ghostbusters to drive-ins in 2020 to get a theatrical experience with the 1984 ghostbusters movie cause of only being a month and 23 days old when ghostbusters originally released in theaters

I wish I could’ve been able to get these toys! They are so much better than most, if not all, of the Nerf blasters I’ve seen. I think it would be cool if they made new toys like these, don’t you think?

I remember the pack but I wasn't crazy about it. I liked the toys and car better. I think I was too old to be into the pack like I would have been the RGB pack back then.

The Ghost trap doesn't really work as well when compared to the Real Ghostbusters version. Especially since it doesn't have the hinges like in the show.

I have the extreme Ghostbusters ecto-1 still in the box it was a gift from my friend it's in decent packaging that's not all bent I've looked online how much they are worth their Vexy very expensive because they light up and I forgot things that light up actually go for more money like if the original Ecto 1 it was able to light up it would probably worth a lot of money some people are selling the newer ones and saying they're old just not cool but it's no big deal to be honest they should just remake everything and put it in the same packaging and just. it would be nice maybe some years from now they actually redid part of the toys from the 90s like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Terminator Shoreline was good also yeah when I first got the extreme Ghostbusters ecto-1 and I put it on my Facebook and Instagram some years ago somebody was actually going to pay $400 for it I was very surprised and I didn't say $400 because I had to look up on eBay how much that stuff did sell for nothing is in pristine condition if somebody has a box that's perfect that means they kept it in a cold but not damp place and it's hard to do that now but I love videos you make if I ever became a millionaire I'm buying everything Ghostbuster and making my own little room like you did and then I'm going to do an arcade-style room it would be cool if they made the arcade Ghostbusters game again I know they've been doing arcade games you can buy in for like two hundred bucks some of them have multiple games on them I'm proud to be a member of this channel.
