I got this desk for free and decided it would be the perfect opportunity for me to practice with some newer tools and to practice some skills that I'd only used/done once, such as using my saw guide and building a base from scratch for a piece of furniture. Immediately I knew that I wanted to turn this desk into a nightstand. Having no money invested into the piece really relieved some of the pressure so I was free to have fun with it and it turned out to be a big puzzle that was super fun for me to untangle!
