Extreme Cleaners Vs The House that’s an Ashtray | FULL EPISODE | Grimefighters | Episode 10

Ойын-сауық

Extreme cleaners Dave and Graham take on a horrendous job clearing a home in Leicester, once inhabited by a sword wielding, chain-smoker who seemingly didn’t own an ashtray and loved milk. The boys thought they’d seen everything, but have to deal with a disgusting bath tub, mountains of cigarette butts and gallons of curdled milk.
Meanwhile Pest-Control Pete tries to get a Bed Bug infestation under control, and Grimsby enforcement officer, ‘Sheriff’ John, removes some rusting eye-sore vehicles from an irate local's garden.

I lived in London for a year during a college exchange program. We toured the Ford Dagenham plant so we could compare it to Ford plants US. Most of the office workers were nice but the factory workers were crudely cat calling and being vulgar to the young women (myself included). I just remember how dirty the plant itself was; sad really because the manager guiding the tour was very proud of the facility. That episode notwithstanding, I love the Brits!

In the states, we would call the owner of an apartment/flat in that condition a slum lord. They typically have a bunch of apartment buildings in this kind of condition, do the the minimum or below it for maintenance, live far away from them, and use the rent to live a somewhat wealthy lifestyle all while their slime ball friend or relative manages the place. Getting anything fixed properly is next to impossible and they will look for any reason to evict you if rents in the area go up and they can't raise yours because you are still under lease.

My dad used to live like that. Of course there wouldn't be milk in the bottles. They would be full of shrimp brine from his shrimp sandwiches or simply just his piss. The swine usually didn't bother putting on the lids either. The smell from the apartment was pretty pungent in the winter. In the summer it was nearly indescribable.

I became suddenly ill and disabled a few years ago and couldn't look after my flat. It got into a terrible filthy cluttered state. But cleaners came round once I asked for help and de-cluttered and cleaned the whole flat. It was like having my life back again it was brilliant. Bless them. I now have regular cleaners come round to clean my flat every 2 weeks cos I simply can't do it myself anymore, and it's great. If you get ill or depressed it's so easy to lose control cos mess just accumulates so quickly.
