I go to the water park in the summer I get wet because it's hot but I'm not going to pay for myself to go on the slides. The parents didn't have to have the time on the horse. That boy should not worry about if his parents are happy he is. It does show he cares, but kids shouldn't worry about money problems. My parents were very similar the people on this show. Tbh, there was a lot of child abuse but that's not what we talking about here. My family was so monumentally cheap and I am definitely not well adjusted. I have so much anxiety about money. I'm nothing like my family money saving wise, but I feel stress around spending. I went through a period of time when I was terrified to spend money on anything (food, socks, new toothbrush, enough weather appropriate clothes). I have since become better sorted, but it still gets bad sometimes though ngl. But I do feel like I take less for granted I think. Being able to take showers for more than 60s and eat comfort foods even if they aren't the cheapest option is amazing.

Easy ways to save some money, eat at home not at restaurants, buy more store brands and not name brand products from the grocery stores. Plan your shopping trip and meals for the week prior to going to the store so you can plan meals with what you already have on hand and what you would need to buy, and also see if the store you're going to has coupons on their rewards card. Turn lights off when leaving a room. Turn the facet off until you actually need to rinse the dishes or rinse your tooth brush or whatever. In the winter keep the thermostat above 65, but not above 70, if you're cold out on a sweater. Just little things like that can help keep a family in their budget. They could then buy electric vehicles to be charged from those solar panels, and never have to buy gasoline. And the list goes on and on...that's just one simple example. Two of the things about gas that the dad said are legit, you get better mileage keeping your tank above half. And the temperature of a tank of gas makes a difference, that’s one of the reasons the tanks you are pumping from are underground. But leaving the car on doesn’t make a productive difference at least not on relatively modern cars, auto technology has left the whole “ya use more gas starting it” thing behind. Having said all that I love the channel keep rocking it man!

As a mechanic I approve this message lol. Fuel consumption from sitting and starting these days with modern injection systems is so miniscule that starting stopping is literally droplets difference. And he is correct that leaving your motor running at the pump isn't an issue. Only if I need to go in I shut my motor off. If I'm not going in i never turn my motor off. The key is to not go in and out of your vehicle creating the possibility of static electricity in your body. If you are concerned with the possibility of static the pumps are metal so you can touch it and release any static from your body before handling the actual pump handle. The more you know 👌

@@beepbeeplettuce5890 well it’s not an old wise tell. This was true back in naturally aspirated days, it didn’t help much but a small amount, nothing really worth banking it on. But it worked. Now with the advances in fuel injection systems it makes no difference. Even sitting at idle makes really no difference at all. That’s why I think cars that have that stupid shut off feature while at a stop are ridiculous. They do nothing to conserve fuel.

@@luxuscarnage4828 your statement is highly inaccurate. Static electricity is where the danger lies. Not with the vehicle running or not. The vehicle being fueled up while running is no different than a vehicle running not being fueled up. The only difference is the chance of introducing enough static electricity and a spark causing the fuel to ignite. It’s actually more dangerous to get in and out of your vehicle during a fuel up because you are generating enough friction to create static. A car running is not a risk factor in the slightest. Or else just running your vehicle is a risk. It’s nonsensical. All the risk at a pump revolves around static electricity and not the vehicle running.

That's because its usually the dad who is the primary income source. naturally if you are the only one making money for the family then you would be more strict on how you spent the money since YOU earned it. alot of these women on cheapsaktes be dragging their hubby under the mud about their habits, when they don't even work. "but the kids". the kids over the age of 5. you dont need to stay home all day, how you going to "take care" of them when they at school for 8 hours... 8 hours...thats a work shift. hell you can do a part time shift for 4-5 hours and still do mom stuff before they even get home. and can take that part time money to buy your own shit and use that income as the "screw around" money.

My god the poor woman working at that ranch trying to get them into a room. I am not sure if I could hold it together! Like it sucks when people do things like this … I have a small business where the prices are already where they need to be and so many people ask for discounts or book photo shoots and then the day comes and they are like “can we do 2 hours instead of 8 for the birthday party day” they literally booked and planned and I turned down a wedding to do because they where there first 😭. There’s a time and a place like a yard sale or a flea market but people don’t understand how much small businesses have to spend to stay open and how good the pricing is already normally! Like $75 for that room was crazy cheap Idk it makes me mad because some of these people prolly need them to be paying full price and they are literally loosing money because the TLC camera crew is in their ice cream shop asking for like $1 cakes and stupid crap

The sharing of two bunk beds is ridiculous. Btw, i blocked it out of my memory, but i just remembered that my own family was on an early 2000’s reality show 😆. It was on VH1 and called Stage Moms….moms that push their kids too much in entertainment. I dont remember if anything was staged, but I do think my mom played things up bc she, well, is an actress. And a character actress at that. It pissed my bro off so he was more amped up than he normally was. I remember him getting into the car after school, with the cameras in the car, and being so embarrassed in front of his friends that he jumped into the car and hit his head on the door frame 😬. I also remember the interviewers asking me questions in a way where they wanted to play up how I felt inferior bc my bro would book more auditions than I did. Yuck.

Im sure someone already commented on it but the dad actually was correct when he said that his car is more fuel efficient with at least half a tank. That doesnt mean the second you dip under you need to refill, but because the fuel doesnt get as hot as quickly, it's more efficient to drive a car that has a fuller tank of gas. For the average consumer it's generally best to fuel up before you drop below a quarter tank.
