    Engineers don't memorise numbers and don't perform under pressure like investment/finance people have to do in their daily work. I'm surprised how few of these companies come with documentation rather than risking to quote an incorrect number that is basis for the deal to fall through.

    ​@@godfather4508 Engineers rarely work in such trivial problem spaces as financial people do. Correctness actually matters and nowadays computer programming has become an integral part of being able to reason about the otherwise insurmountable datasets and workloads required. It's therefore very hard for an engineer to take responsibility and accept risk for something that is inherently not far removed from a coin toss. As you can see from this show, image, money and the way you talk matters more than substance. When the people pitching bring this up in a subtle way, the dragons get agitated and start flexing their muscles out of insecurity.

    was there really a deal? Some 80% of those tv deals don't make it past due diligence stage and fall through so there's no cash to splash...

    the people who enjoy lifting weight go to the gym already. But it is aimed at those that get bored of lifting weights and need some fun incentive. Gyms can broaden their offer. That's why you see Zumba classes next to pure weight lifting.

    I can't remember how or why I thought Debra was an unlikeable person, I've grown up a bit, but I see now I was wrong. She is a legend. Fun when it calls for it but a dragon in business. Great character.

    I remember a similar thing at the Dome in 2000 - something like 9' square with 9 (IIRC) buttons (in a 3×3 grid) that one lit up randomly and you had to hit it.

    Martial art gyms, boxing gyms, tennis, football ping pong, I can see loads of sport gyms wanting this technology that is all in one piece of equipment and can track trends, even shooting academies if the targets can somehow linked to the device....it's very clever

    lifting weights has been a way for humans to improve their muscular strength for a veeerrryyyyy long time, in fact it's one of the best ways to improve strength and power period, so I highly doubt it will become old fashioned.

    Deborah and Peter, have a history of investing together. At various times throughout the series, one of them often calls out the other to split the deal. They have both said that they worked together very well. Theo and Deborah were a team also. Sarah and Nick often worked together. James and Duncan often worked together.

    The only thing is ,the deal is never done until it's all signed.On a number off occasions the dragons have pulled out at the last minute once they take a closer look at the company they were going to invest in.
