As someone who cycles almost every day commuting and for fun, the last time I had to re-hook the chain was probably 3 years ago, and before that, 2.5 years ago. Again to be clear, I cycle almost every day. If the chains slips often enough to need this tool then there is something that needs to be fixed in the bike. If you're out for exercise cycling with minimal gear (no bag/tools, only your bike and Lycra suit and nothing else) and by the odd chance your chain slips, just grab anything you can find on the street (a clean leaf will do just fine) to re-hook it. Simples. There, saved you 15 quid. You're welcome.

Ok... as a cyclist, I can tell you that an asian company can easily copy it and sell it at half price. I had this problem and just used a stick from the side of the trail! The dragons got blinded by numbers on this one. Easily replicated, thus very competitive market. Bad investment.

Especially when you try to make your bike or backpack as light as possible. You can use virtually anything to fix a chain. Pencil... pens... a crunched piece of paper. A derailed chain doesn’t happen that often to be a problem.

Tej: I will give you exactly what you asked + 50% of my own business. Peter: I will give £1 for 99% of your business + your wife. Jenny: for the above 2 reasons, I am out. Guy: I will go with Peter.

I think this is the best line-up of the Dragons. Peter and Theo love a bit of banter, Theo and Deborah have worked together really well, Sara is a lovely person with great business skills, Tej has the worldwide accessibility, and Peter has the high tech gadgetry appreciation.

I think his approach to the business is good as well, holding the main job ( and getting good money too being a CTO) while working on the side, validating the concept, selling and getting a significant amount of money. a lot of people quitting their jobs, mortgage their houses, etc... it works but too risky.

I understand your point, and in any real world situation I guess that'd make sense. But I'm sure you've seen some reactions as I have on DD where an investor gets rather childishly butt-hurt over that sort of thing, I guess he was happy enough with the equity demand and with Meaden. Debbie is so likable at times. She definitely has that victory smile here hahaha. She's like a school girl who got the new shoes

when my chain has come off i have never used my finger or even got off my bike to fix it. simply move the front derailleur to a high gear and pedal, the chain will jump back on.

I love when the Dragons go up each other throats instead of complete devour someone before they get a chance to get their product across. Amazing episode.

He made a wrong decision. Theo's was the better dragon. Product placed in 300 stores overnight is a big big take off. Deborah does not have that distribution network contacts.

Deborah thinks outside the box, actually seems to care about who she works with, and she is highly adaptable. Most importantly, she offered a much better deal - a few % equity will equal hundreds of thousands more dollars for the inventor in a few years!

@@aartadventure wtf are you talking about? She virtually made the same offer as Tej Lavani with the same % of equity demand in return. I didn't see anything special in her pitch (if any at all) that made her offer stand out from the other dragons. Theo's offer would have made more sense but he asked for too much equity.

This is an underrated gadget, it should receive more praise from the investors if they all didn't get chauffeured to everywhere they go.

Sarah Davies is a good addition she does make offers and at least that’s something better than only 4 possible offers all the time.feel a bit sorry for tej whenever he goes in it seems to be a bid war with the rest he goes lowest and still loses .

@Ironclaw XII When she was broke she couldn't pay her staff once until she made a massive sale and then paid all the staff the salary. This was during early growth.

I’m so pleased for him but more importantly for his family. I’m sure his wife will be proud of him.

Really loved seeing Theo back again! He was always one of my favourite dragons!!!

I'm out, and for that reason I'm Jenny Campbell.

I was waiting for the day this product solution would be on TV, and now I've seen the inventor proof someone actually put time and money into this.

The only dragons den product I went and bought after seeing it on the show. I no longer need to find a fallen leaf to use to avoid getting oil on my hands.

I love Sarah. She's making Peter Jones and the rest look like Novice. She has brought back competition and Every Dragon has sat up. 😍😍😍😍

Poor guy always looks a bit done in to me and that's with all the makeup and nice lighting for TV.

I absolutely want one of these things on my bike.

Isn’t it strange that sometimes they demand proof of patent and complain an invention’s too easy to copy, but this time, no problem?

They probably edited that bit out. Them reading the paperwork is only interesting if something dramatic happens like when the nail gel guy lied about his invention being non-toxic or the food store wheelie bin guys had an unbelieavably broad patent that was worth more than their invention.

@@Pro_Butcher_Amateur_Human Yeah, the editing is more noticeable in older episodes where you catch references to bits that got cut. I get the feeling these pitches and negotiations last up to hours sometimes.

The actual negotiation and pitch last way longer, with way more things going on. For example you will see on the show how they ask for humbers out of your head and never show someone who just brings out papers with numbers. Things like that are done simply for show, real decision making happens with lot of paper reading and silence, which is not good for show. So yeah, things like proofs and papers ARE happening, we just wont see it because not everything is fit for show or camera.

I had the same reaction. I was sure to hear : " Well, big ones will come in the game and you will loose it all." Imagine the potential of this gadget in India , China and all other asian countries !!!!! If they only can make it for 50 cents or less and sell it a 1$ to 100 millions bike users. It the the kind of object you might loose easily and don't mind buying a second one , a third one etc...

I started laughing twice... " the narrator.. causing a chain reaction" and theo " where you going to put it..in a camera shop" 😂😂😂

9:33 when Deborah says she's going to make him an offer, the look on his face is just the most humbled man.. 🤗💗💗💗

It's been many a year, but I can tell you that I would have loved having this available on my bike more than 10 times. Or more.

They should've done the demonstration in a real life scenario...Cold, windy, rainy and wet hands. This tool is a game changer.
