I was so focused on the inlay and the extra frets that I didn't even notice they were *fanned* frets... definitely a worthy addition to a gallery show.

Hi Tim. Been busy making some of the tools mentioned in your show and really dig using them. I don`t know ff anyone has addressed this, but I was told those aluminum rulers are not strait on the edges like a good strait edge beam. Of course, they look strait and seem true when using. What do you think? By the way. After cutting the two fret board strait edge pieces I had a leftover length 2/14 witch I am using as fret rocker. Do that album.

I've had this idea for years, maybe you'd be interested (figure out a better/simpler method). You know how the 24th fret is supposed to be this ultimate tone centre for the neck pickup? Well... a pickup at the 24th fret, under the frets. I've always imagined frets on rails for this idea; extended frets 'floating' over the neck pickup. Either cleverly crafted traditional frets on wood, or frets set on a metal rail, over the pickup. Commercial guitars would never feature such a thing, but I reckon a Tim Sway guitar could/would/should?

I assume you're talking about all the fretless bass/slide guitar stuff in the beginning of the vid? It's a much larger convo than should be had in a video comment section, (and I don't expect to 'change your mind') but a main component of music is tension/repose, tonic/dominant, etc. This can be achieved on a micro level, too, in playing with pitch, which is why people love hearing notes bend in guitar solos. It's not where they end up that creates the emotion, it's the space in between (While My Guitar Gently Weeps). I freely admit I am no virtuoso, but when I play instruments where I have the option, if there is a space just off from "in tune" but not quite a "wrong note" I'm gonna aim for it almost every time! lol. I call it "the 13th note" - sometimes it successfully triggers the feelings I want it to hit, sometimes not. And definitely not everyone is gonna like it - it would be weird (and boring) if everyone listened to, liked and created the same music! Search for inspiration in the things you dislike as much as the things you like. There is often even more of it in there!
