My wife are from west java and their family lives in rural village in the foot of a mountain. In there many of the villages resident said that they saw a javan tiger roaming near the village forest but they all decide to keep them a secret because they knew if the rumors are spread there will be a hunter trying to hunt the tiger. And the villagers believe yhe tiger is a sacred animal who guarding the mountains for millennia

thank your family pls from me and im sure hundreds of millions if not billions of people around the world. I travel to Indonesia a lot for surf and I always day dream about how your incredible country would have been in the past before colonisation. The surf would have been the same 1000 years before yet u may not make it to the waves with out a tiger eating you. The stories of tigers at Grajagan and the surfers who went there first and saw them. Lived in the jungle with them, how lucky they were. I saw video of a leopard trying to eat a monkey in one of the kitchens in the G Land surf camps last year. Its still so wild yet just missing its king, the Java Tiger.

You sure it was tiger..?? Because most of the times people are confused Tiger and Leopard. Macan = Tiger Macan tutul = Leopard Macan Kumbang = Black Panther @Danb8877 Before colonisation, Java islands was home of 2 big kingdoms.. The Majapahit empire in the east Java + Bali, Lombok, Sulawesi, etc, and the kingdom of Sunda in the west.. And Sumatra was home of the Srivijaya empire. Which control the area of Sumatra, Singapore, Malaysia, all the way to Southern Vietnam.

The science field is so slow to do anything. This is why when people bash hunters/fisherman I have to tell them they do more QUICKER than any scientific/conservation group has ever done. Unfortunately scientists are about getting recognition for a discovery and don’t have urgency now that they’ve discovered something to write a paper about.

More green, less dense population and the extinction can be prevented 🙏 that's why I support the new capital build up❤

The only land bridge between Oz and Papua New Guenia, would of taken place about 100,000 years ago. There was no land bridge at what is called the Wallace Line, a very deep former ocean, that has never been a land bridge.

The point is tiger in Kampuchea naturally is the IndoChinese sub species not a Bengal one. What do those people thinking of? Any reported sighting is most definitely false or is likely a leopard which are critically endangered. I would love for the Javan Tiger to still be around but if you've been to Java, there is nothing remote or jungly about this extremely dense and human packed island. Even a small village can have over 50k people living in it, it's hard to fathom how dense this island is for foreigners but trust me, it is absurdly dense. I still absolutely loved this video though and hey you know what, maybe they are around, one can hope

we as javanese native prefer to be keep silent over a javanese tiger sighting occurrences in order to avoid the interest of goddamned and stupid poachers......one sighting report in an area could attracts many hoard of poachers who will hunt them down for their idiotic personal glory, and this could lead to the real extinction of javan tiger from the face of this planet forever.... since the javan tiger was considered extinct, there is no law could protect their existences :(

As much as i admire Forest's work in highlighting the issue of rare animals, his ignorance in some subjects is irritating...like here, where he clearly does not even know the live and extinct subspecies of tiger, story behind extinction of Bali tiger etc.

I breed tigers it's super easy lol 😂. They need to be kept as pets as the wild is pathetic currently and poorly protected . They get hunted for nothing and home ranges over lap with human habitats . Only stupid will parrot they belong in the wild but never being there to see how shit the wild is for tigers 😊

Locate and save this animal??? Does it need saving if you can’t find it? Nature doesn’t need your help, it needs your absence.
