The answer is: anyone who wants easy but temporary access to the plug. Like me, when i was fitting a soffit and lights in my bathroom with a single pair of hands. I needed to attach several power tools, one at a time, to one extension plug. And while i couldn't reach the plug on the floor, a towel rail was in the perfect position right next to me. Yes, i could have pulled the extension cable plug up each time, by the cable of whatever tool was attached, but it was far simpler to have the extension plug in constant reach. Having said all that, there is a much more straightforward approach to tying and untying it than this video suggests .. see my feedback one level back.

🤣 You used the same smoke-and-mirrors effect that you exposed in your previous video! It's far more straightforward to start with a bight going up behind the rail, and then pass the plug through it. And simply reverse to untie: pull the plug upwards which brings the bight up behind the rail again, and free the plug from the bight. _Presto!_
