@@hassyg4083 maybe cheap in the sense it’s cheaper than when it was basically all hand done but both AI and these CNC machines are incredibly expensive to own and operate! My Dad and uncle owned a machine shop and make different components for f-22’s. Each cnc machine was half a million each, you have to service it, replace bits after wear etc. nothing about it is “cheap”. Clearly you don’t know what it costs to own and operate a business. The money to pay for it comes from the sales of the products it makes! These are still incredibly intricate and difficult to make and far from cheap! It’s about $1000 and hr to run a cnc machine alone!

I love seeing watches being made and I love the intricate workings of a Jacob & Co watches. I was good friends with a watch repair man who built watches for one of the big brands before he came to the states. He was teaching me some watch repair but had to retire because of his sight was failing and moved back to Switzerland. I watch a lot of repair and build videos of watches. I can see why years of looking thru a loupe could speed up the loss of eyesight. Maybe someday I will be able to afford a Jacob & Co.
