In Football, or Soccer as you might call it, the people, specifically in the English Premier league there are two voting bodies. The football writers (Journalists) voting team and then the players and managers voting body. NBA Could use a split system to make it more clear, especially because it would make it much more clear who the better defenders systematically through numbers as well as through direct observation from the players.

To be fair, since they are ESPN and they like to go off of statistics... Klay Thompson was not even top 50 in defensive player ratings last year. Covington was top 10 and Rubio was top 15. Thompson isn't in top 50 this year either. Obviously stats don't tell the whole story, but it's probably something they took into consideration. Also interesting was that Embiid, Covington and Simmons were all top 10 in defensive ratings last year, all in the same starting lineup, pretty cool.

Not really it was about Andre Roberson who when healthy is the best super star defender he has clamped James Harden(A Lot), Kawhi, Klay, LBJ, Booker etc

Thank You!!!!!!!! I have been saying for YEARS that she is the most annoying, conceited person on sports TV. She is in love with herself. What credibility does she possess? Why would anyone let her vote for any major sports award. She doesn't know anything about the GAME itself. She interviews players, kisses their butt, and then thinks she's some sort of authority on the game of basketball.

MVP should be voted by the players, coaches, and owners, not media members.
