A little hint on the project I used to copy my properties - I created my own one, but there is an older one from Autodesk with ALL IFC properties, however it is a bit outdated and doesn't contain some of the newer properties, which is why I prefer using my own one. dear sister, bolts are exist there is no problem but when I hide the reference model in tekla structures the bolts are disappeared. this is the problem. can you advise again.

Great videos! I really appreciate the effort and time for putting all these things in clear and understandable video content. Keep them up and going regularly :) However, even though I frequently use it, with my own mapping files, I have to mention that IFC exporter for Revit is lousy compared to the comprehensive IFC exporter from your competition. Truly think that Autodesk should be more involved in the development and improvement of Revit IFC exporter. Another disadvantage of the current Revit IFC exporter is an inability to export specific elements broken down to its layers (walls, floors or similar) as competition exporter does... Instead of that, we have to convert elements into parts, but it could be extremely difficult to maintain the entire model converted into parts just because IFC exporter can't do it by default. Also, I have to mention another important thing - the inability of the current Revit IFC exporter to export Material properties?! Why the hell is this so big issue for years? Again, competition exports these properties as well. These videos are extremely valuable, but on the other hand, there is still a lot of unsolved issues even if we have the perfect models, properties and mapping files.

Great video, I have been trying to apply this to try and export the Pset_ConcreteElementGeneral however, but with no succes. I created a mapping like in your video, but it is still not being included. Any thoughts on why that could be?

Great videos, I have learned a lot from you. One small question: How can I export other parameters that are not Common Property Sets? For example, I want to export the WarrantyPeriod parameter that is a Pset_Warranty parameter for doors.

Thank you for the video! I have one problem when exporting the Common Psets: sometimes I do not wish to have all Common Psets exported, I just want a few ones (i.e. Slabs and Walls). Is there any way to export them without having to map them individually in an own property set and then turning off the Pset common export option? Or is there any list of the internal Revit mapping of the Common Psets, so that I could just copy the ones I need to my custom parameters? Revit doesnt seem to have an option where I can select witch Common Psets I would like to export.

Thanks for your comment, unfortunately there is no way to limit which custom Psets will be exported from Revit, they are hardcoded (as they are considered as the basic information that should be available by default in the IFC schema).

Great videos!! I'm having a hard time with mine pset. Recently I update my revit to 2024 version and some of the information is not working anymore, for exemple width and height os windows and doors. Would you know why this is happening? Or what can i do to solve this problem?

Thanks for your comment! There were some changes around how types are handled in IFC; try adding IfcWindowType and IfcDoorType (Or IfcBuildingElementType - depending on which classes your are mapping, just add the type entity) to your mapping file!

Hello, thank you for this video! Would it be a good topic to also make a video about exporting the BaseQuantities? I find this to be a very hard job. For example: buildingsmart devines that IfcColumns will get a NominalLength when exported to Ifc2x3 but in Revit (for as far as i know) it is impossible to get this (Base)Quantity of the IFC.

Use ArchiCAD - Much better IFC interface/selection/export/control over mapping etc, and easier to use. The difference is like Revit for PC and ArchiCAD for Apple. A much more pleasing GUI.

Hello, I search add PsetConcreteElementGeneral ConstructionMethod for a WALL or column but it doesn't export in my ifc (export revit -> IFC4 reference View) thank you if anyone has a solution :D

Is there Parameter table or a export list of parameters... the Defaultlist (Cobie) does not work! what is the difference between mapping table and property sets?

Nice video but just a few things - your text file which is user defined should have been selected under user defined export rather than parameter mapping, also wondering why in the text file you didn’t specify as IfcElement or what type of parameter they were ie text, Boolean etc

Thanks for your comment, Graham! I think you‘re talking about the custom property sets - for these we need to specify the data type, class etc. - that video will be up in the next days! :-) I sometimes mix them up too, we might have too many textfiles involved in the export... ;)

Hard to say, if the bolts are visible in an IFC viewer, you need to check the Tekla import settings and whether the IFC class the bolts were exported to is excluded from import. Good luck!

Sadly, the revit ifc exporter is barely functional. There are over 400 open issues in github, some of them for years. For example, ifc someone wants to export both base quantities and material properties, he can't. If he chooses IFC4, he will get only base quantities, whether if he chooses IFC4.3 he gets only material props. It's really a joke.
