The Virupaksha Temple in Hampi (Karnataka) is one of the oldest functioning temples in India, with origins tracing back to the 7th century. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and is part of the Hampi UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This is situated near the Tungabhadra River. Visiting & exploring here, is a rewarding experience due to its rich historical and cultural significance.
The best time to visit Hampi is from October to February when the weather is pleasant.
To reach Hampi:-
By Air: The nearest airport is Hubli Airport, about 160 km from Hampi.
By Train: The nearest railway station is Hosapete, approx 13 km from Hampi.
By Road: Hampi is well-connected by road. You can hire a taxi or take a bus from nearby cities like Hosapete or Huballi.
