I'm surprised that the prices aren't low in other countries as well (I'm from Brazil, here a disc game is cheaper than the digital most of the time, just to make a comparison: I paid an equivalent of 4$ in doom eternal, in the digital store the game NEVER was cheaper than 7$)

I feel you, Turkish PSN had it worse, when RDR2 came out It was more expensive even than the UK store (and most expensive among other countries), and when people complained about it PlayStation Turkey just told that the prices were set by the PlayStation UK. Like what the hell? It was more expensive in Turkey than in the UK for fucks sake. Xbox is miles ahead in this regard, and when you consider they officially entered Turkey in 2012, 1 year before the release of Xbox One. Playstation was the console of choice since PS1 but I started seeing Xbox is getting more popular, especially with the price of Xbox Series S.

I'm mostly surprised you managed to browse the store for so long without it crashing.

PS4(pro) is starting to behave similarly if I do any extensive browsing; usually by the time I've checked all the sales on offer it's certain to crash. I did not renew my ps+ subscription and will move to PC gaming in lieu of purchasing a PS5.

I'm as old as the PS3 and I've used it ever since I was 3 years old. It really is one of my favorites when it comes to a console, despite its massive flaws.

The only unplayable cod game is BO2 with dead players and hackers but If you want the best then Play Ghosts, MW3 and BO1 as those are full almost anytime you log on. MW1 and MW2 can be filled with good lobbies depending on timezones but hope this helps.

Not really... There literally is minimal difference between ‘physical’ and ‘digital’ nowadays. Unless it is a small indie title, AAA titles would almost ALWAYS require sizable downloads. Assassins Creed Valhalla for example only has 2-3 gb on the disc and you need to download the rest. Ghost of Tsushima in the same token required an 8gb download on launch. Digital or disc version of consoles in the whole scheme of things really doesn’t matter going forward.

That reminds me sinking over 1000 hours of gameplay/grinding on a Dragon's Dogma Demo. Level was capped, and hit the cap of 99,999 discipline points which I was able to carry over to my main save once I got the game. The 100k discipline points was an absurd jump boost to start out the game. I also carried over 50 million gold. lol

Wow man....just seeing the xdr of the ps3 just flooded my mind with memories. Not just of the ps3 and games I've played on it, but that whole time period. Life was so good back then

10/21/2021 I was just on my Vita and on the PS store and was able to DL a game too from the store....

They’re no longer discontinuing the ps store. Too many people were upset and they announced that it would stay up. It’s on on there website .

And this is why purchasing games on disc is better then digital. Plus you are saving storage on your console. And you can bring over your game to your friends house and just put the disc in to his console and play.

If they actually do shut down the store (don’t know if it’s already been done but it’s inevitably going to happen) people won’t get to see the endings of certain games. Asura’s Wrath and Prince of Persia are two games I know have the ending locked behind DLC. You can always watch the endings on KZread but that’s not the same as actually playing it.

Bro I felt like the king for having the 300 gig PS3. You could never fill up the storage, now an average game is 100 gigs. :(

ppl in the future this guy was a legend for doing this. This legendary nostalgic console is where it all began for most people

Never owned a ps3 but this still is nostagic; going to my friends house and just seeing them scroll through the games and stuff

They're only removing the store, so you can't buy any new stuff, just redownload owned content. So add everything to your account and buy what you can!

My was worst it took 4 - 8 days

I remember when I used to download PlayStation themes from the PSbrowser that would make my PS3 look like the Xbox 360 and PS4, and had the Spider-Man PS4 2018 gameplay showcase and acted like I was playing... Yes, that was like, 2 years ago.

I've had my PS3 since 2006. It still works! I still play Call Of Duty: Black Ops on it. I am so sad it's discontinued.
