I love these videos, good job you all from Kentucky! My great great grandfather was 59th OVI, H company, I believe he was present at Perryville KY in reserve, but fought at Stones River. He was western theater but you all doing this saves these places for future generations and I greatly appreciate what you all do. Awesome stuff!

Clara Barton's Missing Soldiers Office is in Rock Creek Park in NW Washington DC which is administrated by The NPS.

I live in a house in Downsville. A few miles from the battlefield. Like just about every house here, it was a triage for wounded at Antietam. My grandmothers house in Williamsport was the same and the hill in which it sits, is called “hospital hill” because her house was a hospital for Antietam.

WOW! YOU ARE THE BEST. When I was in my 11 or 12 years of age., I I would always have Army Dreams, I Would get shot or either stabbed in the chest. And still today in my 60's I have Army Dreams,. In my sleep You Can Feel The pain of a bullet or knife so bad. I mean my chest and middle back would would absorb that pain, and it would wake me up, in the night. And the feeling I had was such a hurt and I would cry, Seeing myself Die.

Can I hire Garry for a private walk of the Battlefield and if so how?

I am a year late in watching this but love this video. I was at the Antietem Battlefield about 4 months ago. You guys really bring the battle to life and I can now place what happened at the places I visited. Thank you!

This was the battlefield scene that was depicted in the movie Glory with Mathew Broderick before he was with the 54th Massachuttes regiment.

"Strike the..." is from Lee's last words, "Hill must come up. Strike the tent!"

McClellan replied to Lincoln after being prodded to chase Lee after Sharpsburg, This army is too fatigued to fight . Lincoln replied, this army done nothing to be too fatigued.

Point of accuracy, the Rebel arty on Nicodemus hill was not (solely) horse artillery. Jackson had units there, among them the Danville (Virginia) artillery that was hit hard by Union returning fire.

I wonder if you guys saw my groundhog buddy at the corner of Dunker Church Road and Cornfield Avenue??? Both times I've been to Antietam, he has popped up out of his holes (on both sides of Cornfield Avenue!!) and posed for pictures!!! The visits were two years apart, and he looked hale and healthy last fall when I was there.
